Anyone else noticed this. Very annoying.
It may or may not come back

That's true. It doesn't exist any more on Pie for security reasons. Although it was very convenient.

I doubt many have this problem as most people using smart view have a wifi connection they use to connect their devices to. My display adapter is one that doesn't connect to a network but instead basically creates it's on wifi connection that my phone connects to using WiFi direct. Before the Oreo update it worked flawlessly and still does on my S7 Edge.
Now when I try to connect to it on my Note 8 it's tries to connect and in some instances connects, but then almost immediately disconnects there after. I contacted samsung support and had them remote into it to see if they could get it to work. They told me it was a bug and that they would forward it to the development team, and that a fix should come soon for the bug. Well it's now going on three weeks since then and there has yet to be a update out fixing the issue. I emailed Samsung support reminding them of the issue and they said there was no reported problems related to smart view and that the next update should fix a lot of the bugs that came with the first update.
My hope with this post is that others might have the same issue or a work around, and if not, that maybe Samsung will eventually see it and find a fix for it. My S7 doesn't perform as well as my Note 8 so I'm hoping a solution comes soon.
You are not the only one, but i have another kind of problem with smart view...
I heard some Note 9 devices encountered this just as all the 8s and 10s did. Now I want to know which security update/software version this happened in. This is something that I'll root for if there are no workarounds.
I don't know but I'm on CSC1 right now, which is the latest release (in France at least), and Switch/Substratum works nicely.
I received my Android 10 update and have a strong password to get into the phone. After the phone rebooted the keyboard will not come up. I made sure the Samsung keyboard is on and do have the same third party keyboard as before the update. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I was able to use a bluetooth keyboard... but looks like i have to use the stock keyboard for now.
I use nothing but SwiftKey and it worked fine after the update. I vaguely remember seeing someone mention the same problem I the beta community though.
Oh great, bugs? Figures. I got the notification for the update earlier today from AT&T. Good thing I wasn't on wifi or else I would be on this boat too.
Are there BT issues with the note 9 running oreo (I never updated)
I'm having HORRIBLE issues with pairing and the phone staying connected to my garmin drivesmart 55 GPS.
50% of the time it wont automatically connect, when it does, hands free mode is hit or miss, and then I have to repair it under a new name.
Ive never had such horrible bluetooth problems except with garmin devices, everything else works fine but I figured it was because of older phones.
I just wanted to hear if anyone else had ever experienced BT issues with garmin GPS's
I never had any bluetooth issues with my Note 9 running Oreo in the past..

I think i found the problem, it has something to do with knox and secure folder.
When pairing failed i noticed a secure folder headphone notification icon that would go away before i could see what it was.
If I go in the secure folder and pair the devices it works 100% of the time.
Why? who knows.

I'm still on oreo.
I never upgraded nor have a desire to until I replace the phone.
Even with the latest update as of May 2022, my new Tab A8 exhibits Wi-Fi stability issues not seen on the old Tab A7.
After leaving a connected tablet to sleep, Wi-Fi for some apps won't work and only a WiFi OFF + WiFi ON reset will restore connectivity.
Anyone else encountered this problem?
Same - it just won't stay on any network for long at all. It won't connect at all to my VirginMedia router saying 'couldn't get ip number'
Doesn't happen to me from what I've seen... Have Xfinity cable internet together with a Netgear router/modem.
Have you guys done all the system updates?
Yup, up to the latest from April. Tested on 2 devices and it's the same. Factory reset doesn't help.
I'm hoping that if not before, at least the Android 12 update will resolve this.
I just updated to Android 11 firmware update from last week - X200XXU1AVG1 - but the issue remains the same
On Build number RP1A.200720.012.X200XXU1AVC1, no updates I'm aware of. When this happens to me and I toggle wifi off and back on, no networks display. If I toggle airplane mode it they will appear again.
II'm in the USA, using an asus blue cave router.
What's everyone else using?
Anyone know what wifi chipset this tablet uses?
Got the update to Build number RP1A.200720.012.X200XXU1AVG1 it still occurs, and I'm also noticing bluetooth connection issues, both are cured by cycling airplane mode on and off.
Yeah... let's hope Android 12 includes fixes for this... really, the Tab A7 was a much better device with a nicer screen

I reported the issue via Samsung members app with a bunch of screenshots,
SM-X205 is now getting Android 12 but nothing available yet for SM-X200. Will probably take a couple more days
OK now SM-X200 also got the first Android 12 update and the results are... BAD! Still the same issue and I'm quite done with Samsung for now. Unbelievable that they do not test the basic functionality well enough. I expected some WiFi driver updates under the hood but it seems they are oblivious to the fact Tab A8 has issues.
Had the issue one time since the 15th it's not solved but less frequent at least
What I notice now is that the wifi will turn off randomly. If turned back on it reconnects but shortly thereafter bluetooth dies and cycling airplane mode is required
