Is anyone else experiencing a failure to use mobile hotspot tethering on Note 9 after Pie update?
What carrier are you on?
I got it working on the note 8 on pie

Yes yes yes. Keeps dropping me. I found a solution but it costs. VPN try a free one first see if it helps.

Hi! I've updated to nougat at factory reset my tablet. Now, it does not connect to 5G networks and on ones I can connect to, the connection is choppy. What should I do? I have not rooted the tablet or unlocked the bootloader. Is anyone else having these problems?

I've heard others having the same problem.
But personally I don't. The tab sees and connects to 5ghz networks fine.
No 5G, intermittent 5G, slow 5G
I'm seeing these problems since the upgrade to nougat.
Update: I got into contact with Samsung Support and it seems that the update breaks the wifi and they need me to send it in
Heard that before

A few years ago they used the same story after an update to the Tab Pro. I didn't send my tablet to them. It turns out that they had failed to update the table of 5G channels to be compatible with the USA list.
I have rooted and installed Lineage OS on my Tab S2. 5G WiFi now works reliably and at full speed.. This leads me to believe that Samsung needs to fix the BQD1 update.
I was able to use Wi-Fi Analyzer from the play store to manually connect to one 5G network, now they all show as usual. Might work for you, might not, worth a try.

Hello.
I had a problem with tethering hotspot after Oreo update.
When the tether is turned on while screen is blocked, the other devices can see the wifi of the mobile but can not access.
But once the screen of the mobile is unlocked then the devices can connect to the mobile.
I need this automation of tethering hotspot for my car.
Annoying now to unlock always the mobile to get car connected.
My mobile is exynos, not root, never flashed apart of samsung updates.
Any help?
Thankyou
Sorry, anyone knows what can be happening?? Any help?
Every post that says after oreo update, i can only say factory reset. A good practice after a major software update !
Note 8 here, exynos, oreo, no root. Don't use it for car, but all other devices can connect when the screen is off.

Dear friends, i am facing a weird issue with my Note 9. I get very good network speeds on my handset. Earlier i was using Note 8 and i got same speeds with Wifi and USB tethering to my PC/Laptop in India on both Jio and Airtel network. But with Note 9, I get very good consistent tethering speed with USB but very intermittent slow speeds with WIFI tethering on both Airtel and Jio networks. Is anybody else also facing same issue?
Are you using these all at the same time or testing? Also, since you just received your note9 have you update your router to the same setting and priorities as note8?
Could be router running out of bandwidth or traffic management or prioritization or tethering could be provisioned for restrictions for note9 specifically.

I have tried by both checking and then unchecking acceleration. Can you check on ylur set and share result?
I finally ropted my note 8 unlocked from samsung and now all of a sudden it does a hotspot check on me. Why all of a sudden?
After finally getting the 9.0 update, I turned on Mobile Hotspot so my spouse could watch Netflix. It was unusable, so I connect to my MBP and run Speed Test. It was horrible: ~0.76Mbit Down, ~0.50Mbit Upload and those results are repeatable and a reboot of the phone doesn't help. Before in my area it was usually around ~25Mbit-40Mbit Down. This is not going to work since I also rely on tethering for remote work.
Did T-Mobile break Mobile Hotspot?
I am on the latest T-Mobile 9.0 release according to sammobile.
I am surprised this isn't more widespread...
Not that I wish for others to have bad Mobile Hotspot sharing, but at least I would know it is not just my device. I have tried a couple times a week since this post, and it never gets above 1Mbit Download Rate.
Does anyone use the Mobile Hotspot on 9.0 and can report that it does still have 20-30Mbit download rates?
