You should receive it soon. Depending on which region your device originated from, it may take slightly longer.

When will come the oreo update for the SM-N9500?
i Dont know man all my friends who have Note 8 from different countries got the update except for me. I contacted Samsung in Hong Kong and asked this question, but they didnt give me an answer or a date of when we will get the update. All he said is just keep checking and for now their latest update is the 7.1.1. I am so annoyed, been waiting so long for the update.
Just be patient, I am waiting too, for my 950 F in Mexico
I'm waiting as well....note 8 from hk....service with koodo
Sm-g9500 (s8)
I'm still waiting for Oreo for my S8....SM-G9500...Somebody send me an e-mail,or PM if it arrived :S

That's funny! Really? Highly unlikely someone is going to do that for you & to top it off you are asking Note 8 users. Why not not ask in the S8 forums. It's not likely for Note 8 users to keep an eye out for a specific S8 model Oreo update.

Hi,
The update went live for my SM-N9500 in Macau this morning 24/04/2018
Update for SM-N9500 already flowing in
Mine is now Android 8.0.0
Received update yesterday as well.
I've been checking every day... still nothing for me
there is a link in sammobile already both china and tgy firmware. Unfortunately sam mobile download is slow if not a premium member. updato has the chc oreo already.
My N9500 (TGY) was updated to Oreo as well. Everything looks good. Not found any problems yet.
Got oreo update notification for my n9500 on APR 24. Since i was outside that day, i pressed "Later" button so that i can do the update at home afterwards. But the update did not appear in 'software update' just after APR 24.
Anyone getting the same thing? whats going on..
have already rebooted system and checking manually everyday..
FINALLY GOT MY UPDATE!!! Installing right now...
anyone get it yet?
This isn't news nor a guide. Wrong sub thread. This needs to be in Q&A section.
Got it today

No, we need to wait for the U1 update to be released witch has typically been the last to be released. I believe these are the U versions being referred to here. Also everything new on Sammobile is the U so far. It shouldn't much longer for us.

I'm using it on project fi and no December update yet either.
I also have U1 version.
Note 960U 8\512 US Spectrum nothing since November 1, 2018.
I may not update until my Bixby Button and Navbar App's are updated!

Have not receives any updates since November update too on Sprint using unlocked model. It seems either Sprint or unlocked version always receives the updates last in the US.

Got mine today too. I thought it was Android Pie because it was being moved up for January, but damn it was moved back again.

I ended up using the firmware.science to update to pie. That bumped me up to December update automatically on pie. I also get to keep the Unlocked firmware without any bloatware and the rom is rocksolid stable.

After reading from users how the pie update takes away functionality and is full of bugs, I'm fine with them delaying the rollout.

Looking to see if anyone on T-mobile has Android Pie 9.0 yet, the official download. That, or does anyone know when it'll come?

Nope. Probably within the next month I hope.
In the US, officially not yet. I think Verizon was the first one to update the Note 8 to Android 8... I'm not sure how quickly T-MOBILE updated their phones

Just for reference, the Note 8 on T-Mobile didn't get a stable build until May '18 (April '18 version got pulled, buggy).
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-36189
Since the Pie update isn't even on T-Mo's radar yet,I'm guessing we're looking at an equally long wait:

Nope. No bootloader update yet for the note 9 so you are safe to downgrade back to Oreo or even over to u1 firmware if you'd like.

Pie is not out for the US phones yet, you'll have to wait some more time. But if you want to try the beta pie firmware look under the note 8 guide forums and for SM-N950U/U1/W beta pie... but since it should becoming in a week or so just wait.
Atm pie is only available for the international models SM-N950F (exynos soc).

No!
Just remember once you go to bootloader 5 NO going back to bootloader 4.
Flashing the pie firmware will automatically bring your bootloader to version 5.

Try using smart switch app on PC and phone when connected it should search for latest update out for your model, ie , if its available and your provider does not send out

You should be able to still receive the OTA update for your device regardless of your location. I am currently using the Korean variant N950N in Hong Kong and I am able to get the OTA OS updates for my device.

The difference is he's using a carrier branded device with a non-US SIM card in it.

That shouldn't matter. As my N950N is a LG U+ branded unit and I have a HK SIM card in it. I can still get OTA updates without any issues.
So i should wait ?

Unfortunately it DOES matter on the US variants. If he doesn't have a US SIM in it, then he won't get the OTAs.
Pie is trash in note 8 be happy your on oreo

So if i update using odin will i lose signal?
If you update you will lose many great things that's the note 8 had .imo the note 8 is not built to run on one ui.i bet you regret it if you update.i had to roll back from the update to oreo and it was a nightmare using Odin as I'm not technical and am terrible with computers.just really happy my note 8 is back to normal oreo performs amazing on note 8 and looks good .one hi looks trash with the new layout

Apples and oranges. The N950U1 is the factory unlocked u branded version and updates are controlled by Samsung. The OP has a Sprint branded N950U, and OTAs would be pushed by Sprint.
Try downloading Samsung Kies onto your computer. Connect your device to your PC and use that to update the OS on your device.
The OP could just flash the N950U1 firmware to his device then he would likely get the OTA updates. But he won't on the N950U. They are the same exact device hardware-wise, just different firmware.

That's why I said the OP could just flash the U1 firmware and get updates. As long as he's on the carrier branded firmware he won't get them.
Thank you for the confirmation that U1 works out of the US with a foreign SIM!
So I find this interesting, I have a N950U1 with 8.0 on it and I have been getting security updates. But I haven't received the 9.0 update. I am in the US on the Sprint network. Now I did buy the phone as a referb through an Amazon re seller, is there something else that I would need to check to see why I am not seeing the 9.0 update?
This is my first go around with an unlocked phone so this is a some new territory for me.
