Flashed Android via Odin3 - Boot Looping "Optimising apps" ? - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hi All
i flashed back to android 8.1 as i had problems with android Pie. However my Note 9 boot pasts the samsung logo's and tries to optimize apps. gets to 90 of 90 and then tries all over again.
I have cleared the cache via recovery menu and it didnt help. I havent done a foctory restore via this menu yet as thats my last resorts. dont particularly want to start from scratch
Anything else i can try?

I'm sorry to tell you that you'll probably have to do it (factory reset) since I've had the same issue and I had to do it.

When downgrading Android versions you have to do a factory reset or you'll get a bootloop.

[Q] Repair Galaxy Note N7000 SystemUI / TouchWiz home stopped working errors?

Hello everyone,
I've been literally 12 hours searching for possible answers on how to repair my Galaxy Note N7000 which from what I've concluded, has a problem that can be easily repaired but I've found nothing but limitations when I have a go at it. It doesn't seem to be bricked as I can still access recovery mode, download mode and it effectively boots, it's only giving me errors.
Here's what happened:
1) I tried rooting it using UnlockRoot PRO. Paid the PRO version, detected the device. Later I find it says the N7000 with 4.1.2 is not compatible so the rooting process was never completed, so I rooted it using Root_SuperSU.0.95.Only-signed and it worked just fine.
2) Everything worked fine, downloaded Andromizer to customize the phone.
3) Changed the DPI size to test it, then went to Developer Options and changed the Animation scales to 0.5 to make it all run faster.
4) Rebooted the device. Once I did, I got nothing but "SystemUI has stopped working" together with "TouchWiz home has stopped working errors".
I checked around the web and so far, what I've found (and tried) is this:
1) There seems to be a bug related to TouchWiz and the Animation Scale option (or perhaps the DPI size option in Andromizer). So I tried to do a wipe data / factory reset through recovery mode.
2) When trying the wipe data / factory reset through recovery mode, I rebooted the phone, only to find the SAME errors after I registered everything.
3) First option that came to mind was to wipe everything and immediatly reinstall the Official JellyBean 4.1.2 firmware (at this point I want to pretty much unroot the device as I didn't know it was going to give me so much trouble). When I tried that, I realized that SUDDENLY, Odin (nor Heimdall) are NOT detecting the phone in download mode. I'm guessing it's because USB Debugging is turned off but, I can't access the phone settings. It's my only logical conclusion, although it should be turned on given I could install PhilZ Custom Recovery later.
4) I search around the web and it says it's a driver problem. So I uninstall everything, run CCleaner, USBDeview to uninstall everything related to the Samsung Galaxy. Reboot. Install drivers again. Reboot. Plug booted phone and let Windows detect the device, installed successfully. Reboot in download mode. Let windows detect the device, installed successfully. Run Odin: DEVICE NOT DETECTED. (It does detect it while it's booted though, only it doesn't work for **** obviously).
I've literally tried everything. I've tried checking for a way to install the firmware via Recovery Mode instead of Download Mode. I've tried checking for a way to remotely access the device and mod the settings from there using ADB, and I get the same problem in ADB, doesn't detect the device.
Also tried to reset settings to normal via PhilZ Custom Recovery which I managed to install later.
Isn't there just a way to reset all settings to normal? Shouldn't a factory reset do this? How can I get SOMETHING to work and try to recover the phone? Any Aroma Recovery Script? Any way to mess with the system folder and modify settings manually via notepad or something since due to the SystemUI / TouchWiz home errors I can't access the phone settings?
I'm barely awake at this point. Can't believe I've stressed myself this much. Please help. This is beyond retarded.
Thank you,
Z
i had the same exact problem just few hours ago.....first of all you should boot into recovery mood by pressing vol up+ home button+lock button until samsung logo shows and then wipe all data/factory reset and wipe all cache partitions..........if that didnt fix it you should try rerooting it againg after re wiping
I read the post but it seems you have done a lot of things and nothing worked. So what is the situation right now? You can boot as normal but cannot get any icons or settings as sysUI and TW crashes?
Try installing GB ROM then wipe/cache first. If good, root GB ROM then do full wipe. Then test ROM for crashing.
If good then install JB rom and test. Let us know.
unable to enter phone setting ? then just simply look for a secsetting.apk for ur version then replace it n set the permission rw-r--r--

Bwahahah, now I see why you guys enjoy calling newcomers "noobs".
It was a computer problem. I just reinstalled JB 4.1.2 from my netbook and it worked.
Weird as hell though, given that I updated my GT-N7000 to JB 4.1.2 through Odin in this computer and it never gave me any problems.
I AM going to learn some ADB / Android SDK though. I'd rather learn everything before something like this happens to me again.
I appreciate everyone's concern, and thank you all for it.
nice to hear that you had this one fixed
Glad to hear its working now.

Phone stuck in factory reset

Hi. I'm unexperienced with this in general, so please bear with me. I treid to search similar threads but didn't find anything about my problem exactly.
I've a rooted European (Exynos, Polish or German distribution) version of Note 4. I don't run any custom OS nor did I make any changes to my phone in the last few months. As of now, it's running Lollipop.
A few weeks ago, my phone started randomly rebooting. I blamed it on old apps, did a check with antivirus and uninstalled some apps I wasn't sure about. But the problem grew worse (reboot every few minutes). I've erased all apps that had something to do with my root (Lucky Patcher was constantly popping up in my SU logs in the same minute my phone rebooted, so I uninstalled all patched app and then Lucky Patcher), deleted almost everything, checked that system apps were all the newest version. Nothing helped so I thought a factory reset seems like the best option now. I went to the Settings and did a factory reset.
But now I'M STUCK. There is this picture of the Android with the blue web that should be turning (but isn't) the screen says "Systemupdate wird installiert" (system update is installing), the picture disappears (black screen) and comes back every few seconds. There is no blue line signalising progress or anything. All this for some two hours now.
I don't want to try anything myself because I don't want to make my phone a brick. Does any of you know what my problem could be? Thanks.
I'm not too sure why your device is stuck in an update loop. But are you positive you havent tried flashing anything to your device??
---------- Post added at 05:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:23 PM ----------
Wait a second, you're saying you arent running a custom rom, yet your device has root with superuser.. Therefore you should also have a custom firmware flashed to your device.. Twrp or cwm. Irecommend twrp. If you have a custom recovery. Then boot in to recovery mode and clear cache/dalvik wipe/ factory reset etc.

Positive I haven't flashed anything. I didn't even connect it to a computer.
I think that my device has cwm but it's long since I've used it. I tried getting into recovery mode and the only thing I can see is the android figure with the blue ball, no menu, no anything.
UPDATE: I flashed twrp with ODIN, phone rebooted like after a factory reset.

There is a chance that you put your phone in odin download mode instead doing factory reset

So you got it working now? Or?? You mean rebooted successfully? Or rebooted back in to download mode?

There seems to be no problem now, my phone went back from 5.1 to 5.0.1 though. Maybe the whole thing started because of the last update. I tested and I can get to recovery mode normally, so I did a back-up just in case somethin goes wrong again.
If you managed to flash twrp and successfully booted back in to your device, then i recommend rebooting back into twrp recovery, and doing a cache and dalvik cache from within the recovery menu. And if you want root access, download the latest superSU (itll be a zip file), copy the file to the download folder of your internal storage, reboot in to your recovery, install the superSU zip file you downloaded, once its indtalled, wipe both caches again. And reboot.
Let me know how you go, and if you get stuck somewhere, dont be afraid to ask. Im happy to help

My Galaxy S4 active (AT&T) is bricked, tried to restore it

This is my backup phone so I don't care for the data that is on it and just want it working again. It was rooted before and I needed it unrooted in order to download an app that was blocked by root detection. I tried uninstalling the root using Super SU in its settings, when I restarted my phone it just freezes at the AT&T white screen.
I'm still able to go into the boot recovery menu, I tried putting on the I537UCUCOC7 (5.0.1) firmware found here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2629093). I downloaded it, extracted the zip, and renamed the file "update.zip" and put the file on a microSD then in the recovery boot menu I went to install from external and selected the update.zip. It sorta kinda looked like it accepted it but I get a red error message about the sideloader and I'm still stuck at the white screen when it boots.
What else can I do from here?
P.S. I already tried wiping the cache and data/factory restore options and that didnt work.
Is there anything else that can be done?
I restored my phone to 4.4.2. How can I install 5.0.1? When I search for software updates it says theres nothing available even though I know it can go to 5.0.1 cause thats what I had before it bricked.
Please share how did you restore when I only able to boot into recovery and clearing cache and factory reset does not help. Phone just stack on boot loop

Galaxy Note 9 Mid screen not respond to touch

Hi I hope you all will be fine.
Model# N960U1
Yesterday I updated to andriod pie. After updating I got all new look nd software but one thing note that the mid section of my screen didn't respond to touch. Along with that some times screen freez nd after ten seconds it come back to life. I have tried wipe cache and safe mode start but nothing help. I tried another method like backup data nd factory reset after that phone start working normal but after twelve hour phone of use and encounter the same issue now u can't do that every time to reset. Please advise a solution..
Does it happen if you boot in safe mode? If not there might be some app conflicting. If it is still occurring in safe mode then try factory reset but no data restore. If the issue comes back contact Samsung for repair.

Have you tried backing up only your messages, files and photos without the apps and system settings then factory reset? Do that and redownload all of your apps fresh from the playstore then redo all of your system settings all over again. That could help a lot.

Question Xiaomi Note 11 stuck to rebooting into recovery mode 5.0 after unlocking the screen

Hi, sorry for the bad english. My Xiaomi Note 11 worked perfectly fine for months since I bought it, but last night I accidentally left it charging for the whole night and when I woke up, it suddenly rebooted to recovery mode. I rebooted it back to system, which reboots the phone as usual, then I unlocked the lockscreen, everything went perfectly normal, until it rebooted again to recovery mode. I tried rebooting again, but it rebooted again to recovery mode after I unlocked the lockscreen. I tried booting it to safemode, but it went the same way. However, when I leave the lockscreen unlocked, it doesn't reboot itself. I tried turning it off and rebooting it with the screen unlocked but it did nothing. Do you guys ever have the same problem? Is there any way to fix it without wiping the data? I have some banking apps and other data that would be difficult to recover if I were to wipe out the phone.
I have the same problem too, I think it might have to do with the new update Xiaomi pushed to European devices in the last few days. We'll have to wait and see if they push a fix/if we find a fix...
Exact same problem, started appearing today. This is so weird. I already wiped data and the problem persists; went thorough the setup with no issue, and as soon as I finished it and the phone goes to the main screen, after a few seconds it started appearing again.

Same issue here, please any solution, I've not been able to do anything since 48 hours
Is there a way to go through this without losing my data and files?

Can you give us an update if it works? I also post the problem on Reddit and some people there were also able to fix it by wiping the data.
Will wiping the data fix the issue, if it does, please do let us know

I found a way to do so. The problem is that once the phone is unlocked you have a few minutes before it gets booted into recovery mode. So:
Step 1) Have the phone connected to a computer before booting it up, with file explorer in the "this pc" category (where the phone storage will appear)
Step 2) boot the phone and input the password (if any)
Step 3) QUICKLY pull down the notification bar and press the usb options notification
Step 4) QUICKLY press the second option for file transferring
Step 5) QUICKLY open phone storage from pc once it pops up (at this point the phone screen will probably be black with a white loading circle but the phone storage is still accessible!!! You now have a few minutes to transfer any data you want)
Step 6) QUICKLY search through phone storage for any important data and copy/paste it to your computer
Sooner or later the phone will be booted to recovery mode and the mi logo will appear and the phone storage will disappear from the computer so repeat above steps until all your data is backed up.
If a file transfer gets stopped while running, copy/paste the data again on the next "run" and choose to ignore files that are already copied. With this method I managed to backup all my photos and files before wiping the phone.
This problem might be due to a problematic firmware update. My phone was running MIUI version 13.0.12(RGKEUXM) (europe version). I wiped the data and updated my phone to version 13.0.13(RGKEUXM) after setting it up just in case. I will update this thread if the problem reappears.
I am running RGCMIXM (13.0.16.0) and have encountered the issue. Really annoying. Did the wipe all and had no success. I hope someone can help find a fix. No feedback on the issue i logged thru the feedback app to Xiaomi.
