Just wanted to share some knowledge on OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 5T.
The German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz) just released a new study regarding existing phones and the amount of radiation they emit. And among the worst list or the top devices with too much radiation are Xiaomi Mi A1 and the OnePlus 5T.
It's been discussed here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/radiation-level-t3898180

It's definitely a topic worthy of discussion but I've noticed this too. In fact, OP created an account purely to talk about it. It's a bit odd (and seems concerted)..

Not worth reporting, threads of this type are unnecessary anyway, not sure why op copied that thread(they left the [/QUOTE] at the end lol), its not a lot of words to write yourself.
I don't think LG will update this phone anymore, maybe just one more but nothing major like to 4.3 or anything. Do we really need this thread?

So far the thread is going pretty well! But I must admit, that is an amateur mistake! - Next time, change the hyper links. then none of this would have happened! :good:
"The purpose of this thread is to provide a singular location to talk about all updates for all regions. There is no need to create a new thread for every update for every region. Just discuss it here in this thread"
You can't discuss all updates in one place, you need to maintain some order. It's not convenient if one person talks about v10A, other about v10H and the third one talks about v20A, and all that in one thread on the same page. Subthreads are necessary in these situations. You can make a general thread about this phone where you can discuss about different visual themes or such less-relevant things, but official updates/ROMs/kernels need to be subthreaded because it's easier to find specific information you're looking for. After all, that's the true purpose of threads and subthreads, isn't it?
OP, if you realise and looked at the past, there's already a well used and discussed thread for this purpose. Of course its title can be tweaked a little.

if threads are unnecessary, might break some rules, or whatever you think might be wrong, then it is worth reporting
that's exactly the point of this button.
many people think the report button would be "holy", and you would only be allowed to press it in "worst cases". but, in fact, the opposite is the case. most mods are thankful you hitting the report button. FSM's are splitted my manufacturers, "our" FSM team has to deal with all sony(ericsson), LG and Motorola sections, so the chance for seeing something going wrong is ~0.
sorry for the heavy OT, but i just had to let it out now

HAHA!! i see. how abt "official LG rom discussion thread"? lol but the current title is good enough imo, having the contents that really counts.
Just saying....
So.... 2 pages so far and not really anything in the way of discussion regarding O4X updates.....
I tend to side with the view that LG are far more likely to concentrate future efforts on new devices rather than issue significant firmware updates to existing models; by cell phone handset standards, the O4X whilst still very capable and adaptable is already something of a dinosaur where age is concerned.
What keeps us going is the excellent work done by the devs and custom rom artists
Hi all.
My question is about kernel sources. I know devs can do magic if the sources are out there.
So, does Xiaomi typically give kernel sources? When would they do that? And especially why?
I am trying to understand how Xiaomi stands in that regard.
Cheers!
They are some of the worst. Even when they do release it, it is broken or incomplete. No one that has any choice buys their devices.

I have now filed a complaint with the XDA admins, asking them if they think it's ok with moderators that keep posting falsified information and non constructive nonsense. You are certainly lowering the quality of the threads. I don't know why, and I don't care why - but please help making XDA a better place instead of posting things no one wants to read.

You can think what ever you want but my comments are very much true. If a developer is looking for a device to develop on Xiaomi is is avoided due to their lack of following the GPL. Think I am wrong why not have a read HERE where we talk about it in length.

No idea. Their selection criteria which device source to release also remains unrevealed.
maybe 1year after the release of Mi5. Thats what they did with Mi3 right?
The kernel sources are published. Are they complete and are they useful for the dev(s)?
here are the kernel sources

@thunderrr0 I know they are published but I have not found anybody who can tell whether the sources can be used or are broken.

Only developers will know for sure unless you download the source and try to build it as is. Most of the time there takes lots of fixes and hacks to get it working. Main reason most developers won't buy their devices.
Hello everyone,
As i am sure you're aware, Oneplus recently told the public that they weren't going to support project treble with their devices. This only concerns the oneplus 5t but maybe with a bit of luck and community support, they shall do the same for their other devices on oreo.
Let's hope this works!!

You have got the answer already from Oneplus. It's not gonna be any different from what tthey've already said to OP5 users. And their answer seems to be logic even though it can be just excuses.

These type of responses are 'what happened to xda'. This forum was a place to help and support users. Devs would get exposure, release apps and software without need for playstore. Users would provide feedback as testers and a few would pay or donate. It's become a place for snarky responses to questions that may be innocent. Everyone starts somewhere, no question is wrong, it's just a question.

Op, just noticed on the xda news feed that a variety of devs have been sent devices specifically to work on custom roms. So good news ahead for you.
I'm on the Zenfone 7 Pro and hope there's a better chance they can be as easy to make run on this device

Slightly off topic but heard that the Havocos dev has a zenfone 7 Pro, which could be good news for both devices perhaps!
I have owned a mi 11 ultra for several months now and I am still waiting for a custom ROM for this device. I feel like that would greatly improve the user experience I would have with it. I am willing to donate to anyone who creates a ROM for this device. How many more would they donate?
me too
