need help with email setup

I set up three of my yahoo accounts and sometimes it connects and sometimes it doesnt. I want to use my home wifi only but it keeps on trying to use data connection which I blocked. how do i disable data connection and only use wifi? I checked my wifi settings and its connected.

How to force the telephone asking before connecting a data session?

Hi,
time to time my phone connects automatically to a data session (G/3G/H) for some unknown reasons (I do not have running apps requiring a data connection).
Of course there is a window appearing telling it is connecting, allowing the user to abort, but on 3G connections that is really fast and anyway that cannot be trapped when not looking at the telephone all the time.
Is there way to configure the telephone to force asking for an authorization before initiating any data connection?
And, any way to disconnect from a data session without having to switch off/on the radio unit?

1. Not sure how to do that. I use Advance config to terminate my data connection after 1 min of non-activity.
2. You can terminate the data connection on your comm manager.

yes
Go to Start> Settings> Connections> Connections
Untick the save password box for your internet settings.
This way each time the device wants to connect it will prompt you for the password (even if the password is blank).
Just make sure you know what the password is (you can get the settings from the web).

3G on the Diamond

I am trying to setup my Diamond so 3G only connects when I want it to. I've added the 3G button to the comm manager. Even with this set to off it reconnects when the web browser is opened.
I also have the advanced config manager installed with the Auto GRPS set to disabled but still the 3G connects automatically.
Does anyone have the same problem and/or know a fix?

It will connect whenever anything requests data, as far as I know, there's no way to stop this.

Thought there may be a hidden setting maybe in the registry that could stop this. It is annoying that the comm manager says 3G is off yet there is data connection after loading up the browser. And I'm sure it just connects even without actively requesting a data connection through the browser.

What happens when you set both options in Connections to use "My Work Network" and set your WLAN as your Work Network?

Use no data? Am I missing something or is this as simple as it sounds!? Are you suggesting that by not using programs requiring data then I will not activate the 3G connection?
It certainly is a shame that upon activating a program requiring a data connection that you cannot select the source of this data ie. 3G, wifi etc or just cancel the request entirely.

if you want it to use wifi, simply connect to wifi before you launch the application. Windows Mobile is very different from Symbian in that way (Symbian will ask for each app).

Can I trick Netflix for content in Canada?

Use WiFi and set it to route through a proxy, same as you would do on Windows? Doing it over the cellular network is harder; you can try specifying a proxy if you know your APN and it doesn't normally use one, but that's kind of a mess.

I have it done on my android phone abd tablet. But not sure how to on my wp.

Settings -> WiFi. Turn it on and connect to a network as usual.
Once you're connected, press and hold on the network name. A menu appears, choose Settings (or something like that, I'm not on WiFi at present).
A screen appears showing network details. There will be a toggle, initially disabled, to use a proxy. Turn it on.
A couple editable lines appear in the network details, Proxy Address and Proxy Port. Set them as needed.
Hit Save (on the App Bar); you will now be connected through the proxy.
Remember to revert the proxy settings when not needed, for faster Internet access.

Wifi connected, but no internet connection

I bought a Nexus 6 through the Google Play store. I can connect to wifi, but the internet connection will occasionally drop out. No other devices on the network have the problem. I have no apps installed currently, as I am trying to figure out if it's an app that's causing it (still have the problem). After a few seconds/minutes the internet connection will reconnect. Toggling wifi off and on will force it to regain internet.
I talked with Google support but it didn't help.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Do you have comcast?? If so it doesn't play nice with the nexus 6. I have the same issue. Use any so that changes the dns on the phone to Google and it fixed the problem.
It has something to do with ipv6

please check the settings of your router, I fixed the same by configuring security WPA2 method in admin panel of my router

Turns out the WiFi connection that was having problems does use Comcast. How do I adjust my DNS settings, and what should I set them to exactly? Thanks!
