I have rooted A6+ with Magisk. The process should be same with other models:
Remember to take backup of all your important data.
Note! Remember to have OEM Unlock turned on before doing anything.
1. Download your stock ROM from sammobile and save it on your computer.
2. Copy the AP file to your phone.
3. Download Magisk Manager and patch your AP file in the Magisk -> Install -> Select and Patch a File.
4. Wait it to complete and then move your new file (magisk_patched.tar) to your computer.
5. Flash magisk_patched.tar in odin AP slot and done!
This method is great for those who doesn't want to install TWRP for some reason. Boot time is little longer when booting first time but it will be much faster. This should work always but if something goes wrong, you can just flash your stock ROM from sammobile.

Hey i managed to root my a6s with just only 1 boot.img file i can send you the file if you want
What you need to do is just replace the boot file in the a6s frimware folder and then flash
I have both boot.img file and global working frimware with all google play services framework and much more with erased chinese bloatware.

I can provide you both frimware and boot.img files but please in exchange can you send me the persist.bin file backup ( Persist.bin controls all the sensors and camera's etc ) i accidently erased it .
You just have to flash the frimware with QPST tool and after that simply download the magisk.apk from google chrome and your mobile will be rooted

No brother i have not asked you for the full mobile frimware backup which include userdata partion and system partition i just asked for the persist partition backup that will be about 32 mb in size and modem data partition that will be about 28 or 26 mb in size ( persist partition cointain controller drivers for all the sensors like flash camera etc ) and the ( modem partition contains driver controllers for wifi bluetooth etc )
And don't worry i can teach you how to flash its easy as hell just 3 taps and your mobile will be as new but keep in mind don't do the mistake i did e.g accidently click erase full flash instead of load img and erased full flash while trying to backup my flashfiles

Just download Latest QPST tool install it and install Qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 driver after that connect mobile in download mode ( power off mobile perss and hold volume up and volume down buttons and insert and attach usb cable phone will boot samsung a6s logo will appear and again disappear the your computer will show that device is connect and the QPST tool will show that it has detected Qualcom HS-USB QLOADER 9008 port
after that you just have to select 3 files one file in filehorse programmer file and brows to the drirectory where you have extracted the frimware files and there will be files name as prog_emmc_ufs select that file and in the second file selection area you just need to brows again to flash file folder and you will find rawprogram.xml just select that and again it will ask for patch file just again brows to flash file directory and there will be a file named patch select that and click on download your mobile will start flashing <3

Can someone create TWRP or recovery img for the OPPO F3 Plus pls
Hi everybody, anything new about rooting the F3 plus ? i have the same problem, no results with one click apps
Oppo F3 Plus Twrp, Bootloader Unlock and Root
My phone is an OPPO F3 Plus Model CPH1613 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8976 Pro Octa-Core Processor and 4GB ram. This system recieves little updates and I wanted to customize it thoroughly. Magisk and SUPERSU zip files fail to install through the stock recovery. Neither there is a fastboot option nor unlockable bootloader for this phone right now.:crying: I am ready to donate money to anyone who manages to provide a flashable zip through stock recovery to enable fastboot and bootloader unlock ?, and a modified TWRP file to be flashed though ADB to install SUPERSU and Magisk.
P.S: I am ready to provide the ROM file although I'm not sure whether I can extract the recovery.Img and boot.img . Also please don't reply saying this phone is hard to root, unlockable etc... I want determined people and I want to help many others who have this phone. Help this cause and you will be rewarded :good::good:

Hey there guys, as the title says, I'm looking for some help with recovery installation.
Samsung J3 - SM-J320W8
I've googled, and looked, and attempted anything I could find that I thought might work.
And nothing, I either get "is not seandroid enforcing" or a bootlockup during a recovery boot.
No actual brick yet, thankfully.
But I just can't for the life of me find anything that works.
Does anyone have a TWRP-ed one that would be willing to share the method they used?
I'll even take a CWM if that will work.
Note: I'm not "new" to this stuff, I've got 2 other phones with custom recovery+roms+root on them already.
W8 is exynos as far as I know. And if that's the case you more than likely will not be able to boot a custom recovery.
The other exynos variants use Flashfire to install any zips.
Are you rooted already?
No, no root or nothing else custom on the target phone.
I'm just trying to get a custom recovery on there, for clearing Delvik Cache..
And Emergency situations, as I can do more from a TWRP/CWM environment than stock.

Exynos is not supported by TWRP. You won't be able to boot it upp except if you build it from sources

To enable OEM unlock, first go settings, about phone, software information then click on the build number a couple of times until you see ( developer options enabled ) after that go back to the main settings menu there you will see developer options open and click on the the OEM unlock that and USB debugging if you want to root with oden . go to settings-about and tap on build number multiple times... this will enable developer options... after this is done you go back to the main settings screen and all the way to the bottom you will find developer options... in developer options you will find an option called 'oem unlock' tap on it and you will receive a prompt you then tap okay and will be prompted to enter your password (if you dont have one then it will immediately unlock) after entering your password then your boot loader will be unlocked.

Did you leave TWRP on there , or did you flash stock recovery back? Has that TWRP caused any problem on J320W8?
I just looked up a few threads about rooting EMUI 9.
The one and only who kinda managed to do it is the developer of Magisk John Wu.
If you wanna stay updated about rooting EMUI 9 on Huawei P20pro, you should follow this guy:
EMUI9 root
still NO EMUI 9 kernel sources released
Rooting / Magisk is one thing. I think in addition to that we also need a working twrp or some recovery for Emui 9 to be able to flash stuff with relative ease. On top of that the OEM unlock option is greyed out which is problematical itself. So, this is all gonna be a bit complicated.
Well, there is a modded versions of TWRP Mate Rs Porsche with working decryption and for most people including me, oem-unlock is not greyed out when you have unlocked frp and unlocked bootloader.
I'm on the final of EMUI 9. So the last important thing would be a rooted EMUI 9 to get some important things working.

Unlocked frp = oem unlock enabled in dev options
Unlock bootloader and frp itself doesn't cause "enable oem unlock" being greyed out. It's not getting greyed out just by upgrading to pie either. Upgrade to pie and factory reset does!

his point is, even you got the question wrong,
no files from that list will root your emui 9 simply by flashing any of it,
you gonna need a copy of RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img pulled from update.app of latest emui 9.0 firmware,
copy it to device with latest canary magisk & magisk manager installed,
patching the .img using that canary manager, and you will get patched_boot.img stored in download folder in that device,
copy it to your pc and flash it to recovery_ramdisk partition using fastboot,
or if you really are that lazy, simply download the prepatched one here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rhl405-ALbYrtGHilrNUR5Fuq4yATvTH/view?usp=drivesdk

Thanks for help
It will seem dumb for some of you but important to me and others (i Hope there are some lol)..... so just to be clear :
1- do we have to follow these steps AFTER installing emui 9 ? coming from emui 8.1 161 with evira kernel and using mods i wanna start 100% fresh because first time i installed emui 9 163 i came back a week later because of battery consuption that was way worse and real bad SOT so it's major to me to proceed the best way - i have to go first to twrp and wipe all, data+system+caches before flashing emui 9 ?
2- any reason not to use the easiest way ? why to prefer the complicated one : pulling the file from update.app and copy and etc....?
3- magisk modules will be usable ?
Thanks to those of you who will bring light or give me confident in re-installing pie.
And of course merry Christmas everyone

1. Steps is for rooting, if you wanna start fresh, you can consider wiping /data after update. So none of your previous mods data no cache will tag along to your EMUI 9
2. Reason is, the difference of firmware versioning betweem region. You told me you updated to .163. My prepatched ramdisk is from C636 .168, although most of the time it can work universally across region and version (just like how custom recovery work in a universal way), there's no telling what huawei actually did between version update. So its always best to use and patch your own file. Since it will give you confidence, its your own doing after all.
3. I use youtubevanced, LKT, systemless host, swap torpedo, busybox and detach magisk modules, all work just fine on EMUI 9. You only need to redownload and reinstall all the modules (if you didnt wipe data, like me), because installation from oreo version wont work straight away on EMUI 9.
for extra information, SafetyNet and MagiskHide all working as well. I can use my banking app just fine.
as for precaution info,
i suggest you to use the flashy tools to install EMUI 9 from PC instead of using HuRU,
i did the HuRU way, and ends up with a messed up software serial number and broken recovery partition, meaning i can't flash TWRP, stock recovery nor a patched recovery ramdisk to acquired root. It will all fall to an error screen, telling me no recovery image available inside the system, and ask me to update system again. Fortunately the phone still boot just fine to system.
scratched my heads for hours until i manage to resolved it by flashing Recovery META and Recovery Vendor image through fastboot. After that i can reflash stock recovery, and the patched one (after i confirm stock one work fine)
Thanks a lot for your answers.

If you have N950F Duos like me its pretty easy to root on Android Pie
Just download latest TWRP 3.2.1.0 or newest and put TAR file in Odin make sure you have OEM enabled in developer options...after that flash TWRP but after phone goes black you need press VOL+ Bixby and Power or just Vol+ and Bixby you need be fast....when you in TWRP swipe to allow modifications...than go and flash Magisk 18.1 latest ZIP....you need it have on SDCARD before start anything...if you got any error like "cant mount data" you need go first to WIPE and there wipe data its ask to type YES this format your phone and delete internal storage....
Magisk work fine no problems and twrp to. Good luck.

You'll lose secure folder, Samsung pay, any Knox apps.
Samsung health as well but there is fix for it. It's a simple build.prop edit.
Samsung pay only work around is you got to HAVE galaxy watch(what I've read is a MUST!)

1. You'll need the latest tar file not the img file for Odin.

All files what you need is already here on XDA just download latest TWRP 3.2.3.0 and Odin 3.12.1 and latest magisk version 18.1(18100)
All procedure how root is the same as for Oreo
First put Magisk zip on sdcard
Than flash TWRP with Odin
After flashing boot into TWRP swipe to allow modification and flash Magisk...if you get error like "cant mount data" you need go to wipe and there wipe data but this wipe internal storage.
Thats all

If you have to wipe your data because of install TWRP and magisk, is it possible to encrypt the phone again with TWRP installed?
Thanks for information.....

It's been a while since i last used TWRP. But, the removal.of encryption is needed.in order to access system partition and make modifications. You can re-encrypt using TWRP, But every time you access the recovery, you will need to enter the decrypt key.

You'll have to have the watch and use the watch to pay for stuff.
Check the link.
Edit before publishing: I started writing this for all variants other than sprint, but I'll now make a separate thread for variants that have kdzs and those that don't, otherwise this will be a mess.
Firstly, keep in mind that no one is responsible if you end up bricking your device! There is currently no way to recover from a hard brick other than sending your phone in for repair, so make sure you follow every single step carefully if you wish to proceed!
Additionally, flashing an xbl through DD may not pass randomly even if it appears that it has worked, so be aware of the risks. Only at&t users will need to flash the xbls anyway since that is the only variant other than sprint which does not have kdzs available.
Users with the AT&T variant who are stuck on pie: temp root only works on android 10, as such you will unfortunately not be able to bootloader unlock your device. The firehose may leak at some point in a few months, and you will be able to unlock (and update manually) if it does.
The process for unlocking bootloaders on models other than the sprint one (specifically At&t for this guide) is practically identical; however, it uses different xbl_config.img and xbl.img files, which need to be specific for your device from the pie firmware.
The version naming may not be the exact same for other models, but you just have to ensure that you are on the March patch or below. If you are on April, you can find the guide to switch slots and do so in order to revert to March. To STOP UPDATES, fully uninstall or disable the update center packages either with ADB or package disabler pro for LG, which you can easily find online.
So I repeat, you're going to follow the sprint g8 bootloader unlocking guide, but you have to use the xbl and xbl_config for your device rather than the ones provided in the sprint guide. The engineering abl is the same, but I'll include it here anyway so that you don't have to mess around with any of the files provided in the sprint g8 guide.
Now, steps that are to be ignored and steps that may differ slightly:
Keep in mind that I'm only mentioning what you should be aware of and what may be different, but you still have to follow the guide written by BrandonB1218 in general.
1a: Of course, you still need a vulnerable firmware, and sadly AT&T does not provide kdzs, so you cannot bootloader unlock if you are on the May patch.
You can Ignore this: I found that another method that most likely stops updates is following this guide on youtube. It's supposed to bypass frp lock, but it also gets by all the LG agreements you have to accept, so it will ask you to agree to these if you ever open up the software update option in settings and will probably not update if you don't.
2: Some people had issues with different versions of the mroot script, so try all of them before you come asking for help please. I also suggest that you just temp root without running the temp root magisk setup as you may end up bricking if you accidentally flash a module or make magisk flash a patched boot img (DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE GUIDE).
I suggest running the backup script and the commands to make sure you're completely safe, but make sure you keep them separate because a lot of the partitions included in the commands that @BrandonB1218 mentioned are device specific and include your IMEI. The backup script should only backup the partitions that aren't device specific such as system, and this is probably the one you'll need if at all because you shouldn't be touching other partitions. STILL DO BOTH THOUGH
3a: Yes, you have to run the command to find out which slot you're on, but you will not flash anything from the pie or 20d sprint backup that's listed there, or else you will likely brick.
3b and 3c: This should all be the same: If your active slot is A, follow 3b, and if your active slot is B, follow 3c. The commands should also be the same, just with different files.
If your active slot is A, but the files included for your device are also named xbl_a.img, for example, you can just rename them to fit with the command.
Otherwise, you can just change this, for example,
dd if=/storage/emulated/0/Download/xbl_b.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/xbl_b
to this:
dd if=/storage/emulated/0/Download/xbl_a.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/xbl_b
You also need to flash the engineering laf, so either rename the file or change the command so it works. The link is embedded
Overall, its just important that you take the right file in the first part of the command and flash it to the correct partition of the correct slot in the second part.
If I remember correctly, the method to boot into fastboot is hold vol- and power until the screen goes black (while the phone is plugged into the computer) and then to let go of power as soon as that happens.
4a and 4b: You do not want to do either of these as the boot img and other partitions vary per variant. I unfortunately do not have the magisk patched At&t boot img, but you can patch it yourself from the backup you made and flash it. It might be good to do this beforehand, but you could also just temp root again and dd flash it.
Alternatively, you can flash the metaphysics 1.7 kernel with twrp and magisk included, but you still have to follow the rest of the twrp installation in the sprint g8 bl unlocking guide. TWRP is the same for all US variants.
Congrats! You should now be bootloader unlocked and ready to go at this point. If you ever find yourself unable to boot on the slot which DOES NOT have the engineering abl, you can always switch to the slot with the engineering abl, go to fastboot, and fastboot flash your backed up partitions.

Hey, thanks for the guide. I'm rather worried about trying this as LG's newer models are so darn easy to brick. AT&T variant has no LG Bridge support which is incredibly stupid. At least we have kind people like you helping us free our phones
My LG G8 is a secondary phone right now, and as such, I'm very interested in trying this out. Unfortunately, the download link for AT&T_G8.zip give me a 404.
Not shocking that it's still dead. Tried telling antintin on Telegram the day after he posted this that there were issues retrieving the file from here and he blew me off, telling me it was probably because of my country. Tried with home USA network, USA VPN, and UK VPN. ?
