Im not "Proud" other people did it to i just found a more simple way and shared it. What do you mean using cmd.exe and flashing from here? Im just interested in learning.

LGUP_Cmd.exe is from LG official, It is not patched.
Usage 1 : LGUP_Cmd.exe [COM Port Number] [DLL_PATH(Optional)] [SW_PATH] [EXTRA_OPTION(Optional)]
Usage 2 : LGUP_Cmd.exe LGUP_GET_INFO
The best way is put stock kdz firmware in the folder 'C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP"
Use: LGup_comd.exe as administrator

Flashed with KDZ Updater.exe and it doesn't work. The screen shows the logo like down pictures and keep flashing without anything happen. I guess it's bootloop

Sorry if this sounds stupid..but:
Inside KDZ file is a .wdb and a .dll..
The error could be because the dll from .kdz is conflicting with the model reported by the phone...(??)
Any way to replace the original dll with p970's one?

Didn't tried yet to use P970.dll, but here's the log..
With KDZ-Updater and R & D Test.
I think R&D test tool has some kind of override for .dll by choosing one. There's a p970.dll and lg.dll in UPK thread.

I've already had P970.dll from V10A.KDZ decrypt, but how it can manage? As far as it goes, my conclusion is KU5900 ROM doesn't work with P970.

Maybe you should try to flash it with R&D Test Tool. Maybe it needs Hard Reset at the end.
And also I think KU5900 has different radio from P970.

Just for future reference SIM lock on LG SD845 is build now with strict hardware dependencies based on Chip ID and signature. The only way of removing SIM lock so far, apart from using official operator SIM unlock methods is to re-solder chip from already unlocked SD845 device and refurbish the phone - so all those well known tricks of erasing some files cross flashing different roms etc. is not working any more. Just save your time and efforts...

I had LG V30+ (us998) on Sprint and all the bloatwares. I used patched LGUP & DLL file and flash ls998 witch is unlocked V30 kdz. Ot worked prefect. Then i tried to flash some another kdz file, didn't succeed, brick the phone. But then i use CHIP erase and tried to flash ls998 (unlocked) on it. And it worked but that delete serial number and other details. Bc i did chip erase. But phone worked fine at the end?
I'm assuming he either has access to the latest LGUP (1.16) that supports the V40 along with the .msi/DLLs needed, or has access to LG Flash Tool with the hard to find V40 DLL for the flash tool.
Either way, instructions aren't going to get posted from what I can see.

Best way to work with him is via telegram. I've had good experiences with him. My v40 is unlocked and rooted.

Where are you obtaining these "strict hardware dependencies" claims for the SD845 chips? From what I've seen, the G7 and V35 phones that are crossflashed in LGUP end up being SIM unlocked just like on the old V30 phones. Those are also SD845 so the "Chip ID" lock would not make sense. I believe the old modem data is STILL stored on the modemst1 and modemst2 partitions on the V40 with the Octoplus flash method because the only way they are being crossflashed at the moment is through Octoplus box, and the G7 and V35 are being crossflashed with just LGUP. It seems LGUP's REFURBISH mode clears this old modem data when crossflashing, as I have had similar SIM lock or no signal issues on the old V30 that were only fixed after using REFURBISH or flashing appropriate modemst1/2 partitions.

Do you think there will ever be a way to install ROM Stock on the Sprint g8?
Guys any new LG device will not be able to crossflash unfortunately LG has caught up to our crossflashing here on XDA and has now blocked us from doing so. for now we are stuck until someone finds a way to bypass.

install lgup 1.16.0.3 for lab, then creates the "common" folder in the path c> program files(x86)>lg electronics>lgup>model... copy and paste these 3 files that I upload to mega.

Thanks, but also i have same problem of compression: unsupported compression method (7zip, winzip, winrar).... any solution?

I downloaded them as individual files,and as 1 complete zip file and both have errors decompressing.I think it's more of a Google Drive error when it was uploaded and was split.

Here's my LUNS backup copy from my LG Sprint G8x.It has the last OTA update that was pushed out.It should work with no problem on a G8.Enjoy!

I downloded it Netmsm,and it gives a compression error when you try to unzip it.I have uploaded my LUNS copy from my Sprint G8x and that should help some out that needs it.

Just make a full back up of your firmware,and give it a try.If it won't boot,just reflash your backup firmware back.It should being the same chipset etc. I would make your backup copy a LUNS copy like this is so you don't have any issues going back if needed.Best of luck!
hi , thats all i have to do ? or there is more steps , i upgraded my G8 sprint version to A11 via ota and i want to go back A10 , can i get a tutorial step by step please im hating this update

Thank you @Surgemanxx for your upload.
I gave it a try by uploading your LUN files to my LG G8 followed by uploading my previously backed-up LUN3, LUN5, and vital partitions.
After doing so my phone does not boot up. I will try again without restoring vital partitions and post results.
@netmsm if you could be so kind to re-upload your files it would be very appreciated
Edit: My phone is running A11, perhaps that's why it failed with @Surgemanxx files.
The phone is normally functional however it seems I have broken my SafetyNet when upgrading to A11. On A10 I was able to download Netflix and YouTube on the appstore and there were no clear issues. After upgrading to A11 I get a 'CTS Profile Mismatch' error. I'm hoping to somehow fix this - any ideas?

The Sprint G8x doesn't have Luns 3 or 6.It has 5 of course for the IMEI etc,but I left that out like I said in a previous post for that reason.
