moto x4 slow on boot - Moto X4 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone! With the latest Android 9 update (PPWS29.69-26-4) I noticed two things. 1) The home screen takes a long time to load, as well as widgets that do not show up, for example the Moto clock, Google Calendar Widget that stays white for a while without showing the calendar. 2) After updating (I bought my cellphone on Feb. 10th) I did a factory reset. After the hard reset the At a Glance appeared on my home screen..how is that possible that it was not there right after the update and now it's there on the home screen? Thank you to everyone!

[Q] Windows phone 8 Lock Screen apps

I have two Lock Screen apps installed on my Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia 521.
The first is Lock Screen Message, which enables me to add free form text to an image, and to use that as my lock screen.
The other is Weather Wallpaper, which adds weather information to my lock screen.
Together they work nicely, but I am wondering if there is an app that combines these two features. Anyone know of one?
If you're still looking: try "Lock Manager". It can add weather, calendar, custom text and battery level to your lock screen.
Not to bad at all. My only complaint is that the lock screen does not seem to update for new appointments that I add to my calendar. After waiting a decent interval, I disabled and re-enabled appointments in the app, and this refreshed the lock screen and displayed the new appointment. Otherwise, it does what it says it will.
Try this: http://www.windowsphone.com/pl-pl/store/app/lockscreen-calendar/e4fc20dd-1614-430a-8516-f926679d948f

All lock screen apps have that limitation. They can pretty much update every 30 minutes, this is the standard update interval of background tasks in Windows Phone OS. Users can either wait for it to update automatically after 30 minutes, or in case of "Lock Manager" you just need to open the app and hit save, without the need to do anything else.

[Q] Widgets Will Not Update

Is anyone else having this issue? I use Beautiful Widgets to keep the current weather conditions on my phone. I've used it for years (and I've seen this problem from time to time before). The information on the widget just freezes after a day or so (sometimes less). The time is frozen, the weather and temperature are frozen. If I press on the widget, it launches the appropriate app which will display the correctly updated information. When I close the app, the widget is still frozen. I switched to Accuweather (to see if it was just Beautiful Widgets) and it did the same. I tried Google's News and Weather App/Widget. It does the same thing. Is it my phone? Is it a Lollipop bug? Any suggestions/solutions will be appreciated!

I'm having the same issue, and the OTA 5.1 update did nothing to fix it. Did you ever find a solution?
Further, this happens to me even with stock widgets like Google Calendar.
The 5.1 update seems to have helped this problem. I have noticed it once in the past couple weeks since I updated but not nearly as often as before the update.
I have been having this issue for a while now. Found a random thread that someone said to try disabling auto update of apps in the play store app and that did seem to work. But now it is has been happening even with that setting off. I use a Chronus flex widget that has time and weather, the time is fine but weather part of widget does not update. If I try another weather widget I get the same issue, it won't update even when I refresh the screen the widget brings up. The only thing that works is a reboot, and then eventually it stops updating again.
Any ideas on what is really causing this? Right now my Moto X is completely stock because I re-flashed the stock everything trying to get Android Pay to work.

quick actions on google tap

Hey guys, I recently flashed 6.0.1 latest firmware and I'm in love with google tap. Only thing is for some reason I'm not getting the quick actions menu in google tap. It just keeps saying see what's new in google while all my friends phone have received that menu which includes alarms reminders etc etc. Is there any way to get it on my phone?
Thanks guys!
It does it on my home screen. Not while apps are open. Running preview 5, latest Nova, and latest Google app. I remember is going away and coming back for whatever reason.
The feature is only there for home screen. I'm running latest version of google app but I'm not getting quick actions.

Daylight Saving Time Weather Widger

Last night we switched to DST (East coast US), now the standard Samsung Weather widget shows the wrong time. Phone system time is correctly auto - updated.
Anyone has an idea how to get correct time in weather widget?

I'm having the same problem on both my Note 8 & my S8+. Both are running beta releases of Oreo.
What version of android are you on?
delete widget and then readd it. and or click on the small arrow circle logo to update it. mine is ok now.
My wife's S8 and my Note 8 are doing the same. I assume it's a bug on Samsung's end.....

Of course I tried all delete-reinstall-update-etc possibilities, no dice..
Guess it will remain this way until Europe switches to DST in two weeks...
I have the same exact problem on my Note 8. It shows the correct updated time though, on the bottom right corner of the widget, but not the big clock. Also when I tried reinserting the widget, it's showing correct clock on the widget preview. But when I apply it, still shows an hour begind.

I tend to agree but on the the other hand, at the core this wouldn't be an issue if the stupid and unnecessary time change would be a thing of the past already. it causes more headaches and issues than it acctualy solves. less than 40% of the countries world wide use DST. it is a testament that it is useless and the world keeps on spinning without it.
its 2018. can we all act like it?
Hahaha I was just having the same issue and this is the first thread I see, gotta love XDA. It's weird because if you clear data/cache the time will be the correct time but if you add your current city it throws it back 1 hour, very odd. Also rebooting the device doesn't help. I said screw it and just started using the 2x3 weather widget instead of the 5x1 weather and clock.

ye ah screw it. Try FU weather
40 hours later and it seems to be fixed. Too many close calls today looking at it and thinking that's the time.
Proper way to fix this is to long press the app widget and go into app info. Force stop. Then Tap storage and clear cache and data. Close everything and do this one more time. Come back and you'll be good to go after you tap the widget to set your city. If you only do this one time it seems to remember something in the cache somewhere.

Homescreen navigation is slow with calendar widget

Is anyone facing issue of slowness with calendar widget on home screen?
Device is slow when google calendar widget from work profile added to home screen. The pattern observed is after a day of use, device responds slower.
Tried with outlook calendar widget from work profile too, still device is slower after a day of use.
Did not face this issue in s9+ and it seems specific to note 9.
For now removed calendar widgets though its important for me. Is anyone else facing this?
Not here, I have my works Google calendar on the home screen and its all smooth. I have resized the widget to its max too.

I have exynos note 9 with ARH4 build. Is it same for you?
Did you keep the widget on default home screen or side pages? I tried by keeping it on default home screen page which made the device slow after a day of use. I can try putting it on another side page n see.

Thanks for your input.
I used widget on side pages of home screen for the last 16 hrs or so. So far so good no slowness as observed when the same widget is on main home screen page. Will update if it still be the same after a day passes.

Bad luck.
After a day passes, home screen page swapping became slower even with widget on other home page. I really wonder whats causing this slowness which weird (the same setup of apps, widgets works flawlessly on s9+)
Is there any AI learning captured in device causing cpu throttling or something else???

Im on the Exynos too. I have the widget on the 3 screen. No slowness across the phone in anyway.
I'm late to this party, but yes, seeing the same issue on my Verizon Galaxy S9.
Using the work profile's Google Calendar widget makes my launcher extremely slow and unresponsive.
Removing the calendar instantly clears up the issue.
Saw the issue on Samsung's launcher and Action Launcher
Probably due to the launcher! I could be wrong. But if your problem still exists. Try a other launcher like lawnchair or Hyperion .
