Hi,
i have a huawai mate 10 pro (bla-l29) (EMUI-Version 9.0.0, Android Version 9). Now i want to backup my whatsapp messages (perfectly in text file). I found Whatsapp viewer (https://andreas-mausch.de/whatsapp-viewer/). But i cant decode my crypt12 db without they key and i cant access the /data folder. I dont want to root my device (i think currently its not possible to root a huwai device).
So question is there any way to get my key? The Tool "WhatsApp Key/DB Extractor" is because this java error described here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2770982&page=53 also not usable.
I hope you have a idea, like i said... i only want to backup my messages... nothing more
Well, if you just want to backup your WhatsApp, as you said, then do it from WhatsApp. Either create a backup on sd card or on Google drive.

Sorry i dont understand, i want to backup ALL messages in a readable file. a normal backup to local card i do every night. but i want to archiv my messages... i dont know how this should be possible directly in wa (no i dont want to send about 500 chats via mail ^^)
With readable file I can not help. I have a strange feeling that it is either very hard to achieve or even impossible.

In Whatsapp you can export the message. With or without media files. You can send it through email and receive it as text file.
Only possible per message.
Go to the message, press the 3 dots, choose more, export.

I have done factory reset and deleted all the files. before doing that, I did copied ALL the whatsapp folder from SGS1 to my computer.
my question is:
how can I restore all the conversations I had? what 2 do?
(I have in my computer "whatsapp Databases" folder.. and more of course.. this is the chats?)

Doing that right now!

Hi! I just now finished doing this same thing...
Its pretty simple:
Just copy all the whatsapp folder to the internal SDcard and re install the app.
After you put your phone number and name, it will say it found backup file and ask you if you will like to restore all that.
Just press yes
And you got everything back to normal

yesterday, I typed 1 message only for a friend just 2 see if it works.
so I have done all the steps, copied all the needed files, and it restores me only this 1 message.
and somehow it does not recognize the other backup files..
hooo hate whatsapp for now it sucks what its problem ..
?????
Contact them
strange...
but dude if you still have the files on the side should be no worries
Send them an email to the "costumer service" of whatsapp they answer really fast and kind of know the app from inside!
Good luck!

I think the way told by #6 must have worked. It works for me, at least.
Well, put the backup files in the same position of SD card and the app will ask if you want to restore the history on your phone.
But, next time, try the normal way to backup and recover your whatsapp messages on the SGS1. Actually, WhatsApp has the options in Settings. You can even back them up via email.
Hi,
Just installed whatsapp, only to be told once it starts that it doesn't support tablets!
Is there any other instant messaging software out there that supports our tablets?
Cheers

Actually you can use whatsapp on your tablet but you will need to have root access to your device
Here's how to do it
1) Install whatsapp and open it, You will get the message telling you that whatsapp does not support tablets. Exit
2) Using any file explorer, Like ES explorer, Navigate to /data/user/0/com.whatsapp/Shared_prefs/
3)Open com.whatsapp_preferences.xml
4) Find this line <int name="registration_account_state" Value="0"> And change the 0 to 1
5)Delete the new file com.whatsapp_preferences.xml.bak
6)Reboot
7)Open Whatsapp, You'll be asked for your phone number, Enter it and wait for a minute and you'll receive a message with the confirmation code
8) Enter it and you're done!

Sorry for my english, i have the backup (by PC COMPANION , file.DBK) and i don't have xperia anymore, now i have SAMSUNG S3 MINI GT-I8190 and i need the messages that i had on my xperia but KIES Dosen't support Sony backup (only blackberry nokia...) any solution? i need only the messages
try changing the .dbk file to .zip and extract it, if you see a .xml file put it into your sdcard and download "super backup" from playstore and restore from there. If that doesnt work rename the .zip file to .xml and move it to sd card and use super backup to restore.

HI everyone
I'm using Xperia Z C6603 with rooted stock android 4.4.4 ( 10.5.1.A.0.283 )
so i was copying a file ( mp3 , jpeg ) from my Windows PC with WinSCP to my device External SD Card viaSSHDroid ( SSH Protocol )
then i was noticing , the file that i recently copied to my phone is not automatically scanned in Album nor Walkman app
but i'm pretty sure the file was there , i open up the root explorer ( file manager ) and navigate through the files / folder , and files was there , it can be opened too by walkman or album app via root explorer , trying to force close the album and walkman and try reopening the app still no luck
now the question is , is there a way / terminal command to rebuild / rescan media files that newly added to my device without rebooting it first or without installing additional app ?
Thanks
Regards ,
L

Hi
Open settings and go to apps then navigate to the ALL tap and find Media Storage and clear it's data. Reboot. And wait few minutes. But don't panic if you didn't saw all your media (songs pics) in album and Walkman. Just wait.

Is it too hard to reboot and wait? Lol...
This is the only way worked for me. The apps didn't changed anything.

That's the problem i've told before on my first post , i think rebooting the device just for refreshing my music / picture library is so annoying yet wasting time , i'm just too lazy to do it even my old symbian can do this without rebooting , hahaha
so i've figured out the culprit ( maybe ) is somewhat named android media scanner , but still i need some help to run / trigger this process to run automatically by it's own , since i'm not too familiar with android API's , so far i just know basic & simple linux command , administration & programming for everyday's computing , heheh
i don't know if this just me or what on KK , but on JB , the media scanner runs automatically if i'm not wrong

@androidfreak70
Well this is not true for my Moto G 4G/LTE (xt1039, peregrine) with stock Lollipop 5.1. I have to clear data from media storage and reboot each time I add media, either on the phone itself or external sd card.

Hi, I have a problem with my custom ringtones since I had a factory reset after upgrading to Android 10 / EMUI10 - the phone does not "see" them any more. Did you have the same problem / what was the solution?

Thats not really confortable, better you create the standard android folders at root of your shown filesystem "Alarm, Ringtones, Notification" store your files here reboot and you can choose very confortable depending at the app. When you looking for notifications EMUI will show after this procedure the internal notifications and "only" the stored ones in the created folder "Notifications"

Seams like you either have to put the ringtones in shared internal storage/sounds
or in shared internal storage/Music/ringtones
don't know if notifications and alarms will work in Music folder.
Have done that now, but still waiting for anything to show up, don't know how to force update of the system.
"Music on Device" show everything, several hundreds of Audiobook files, don't know how to block that.
