Your on pie?
Update the Good lock 2018 and one hand operation +!
Open Good Lock 2018 app (by Samsung)
Click on One hand operation + and turn it off if you don't want it or go through the settings and change transparency of the handles if you want to use them.
edit:
You still have the old version of one hand operation + on the new version that is gone and replaced with more actions for short swipe and long swipe. Well at least on mine.

Hey,
Not sure if anyone else has noticed but after the OneUI update I cant swipe down from top left to resize windows.
This was a really useful productivity feature when multitasking (especially at work).
you used to be able to enable "popup view" then you could swipe down from top left to "pop-out" windows but now the only way to do this is a long-winded long press on multiview window then long press again on the top of app then select pop-up view... its much less effective than just swiping down (also you need to follow this same process for each window you want to have floating...
Does anyone know how to get the older much better way of working again? - or has it gone for good?! :crying:
Cheers

It was already discussed a few times. It's removed, all the good multiwindow features that we had in nougat/oreo in galaxy phones are gone. The oneUI solution is close to the google stock one. No swipe from corner, no menu between two split screen apps, no fast way to split screen via holding recents or swipe/hold (but it fires google assistant for example), no hold card in recents for fast split or popout. Everything was removed and this is really bad for my productivity. Feature that was marketed, especially with the note 9 that is phone for productivity and multitasking, feature that samsung were praised for how much better is vs the other android makers solution - removed. Well, good job.
Wow, I had not realised all. Of that is now gone... Sadness!!

Wrong, if you mean split screen mode it still exists. On OneUi you gota open recent apps and then hold down on app icon to get a menu and from there you got split screen mode. Also popup window exists still aswell. Which can be found in same menu as split screen. Swipe from corner can be enabled again in settings on One UI

Read my post again, I never said those features are removed. We(I) were talking about the shortcuts that were fast and convenient. Simple two examples:
I am watching youtube, decides I want to also msg on viber. Before I can only hold recents - open viber and start typing without the video interruption. Right now you will go to recents, video WILL interrupt, you will press the icon on the card, select split screen, then viber, then you will press play and wait for the video to start. Second scenario is when you decide you want to switch two split screen apps place - there is no mid menu anymore, so you need to close/open them. pop-out is also a lot slower to do and with more steps. Generally it's 3-4 times slower to do the same now vs oreo and the funny thing is - they easily could had avoided that - popout from corner option in the advanced menu, swipe recents and hold for instant split screen (right now it's like that for google assistant - swipe and hold, never mistrigger it so it's good) and return of the mid menu between two split apps. Simple, but they removed it all. They even removed in the newer second base that was released after the first one a leftover for hold recents when navigation bar is on for instant split screen.
I am still expecting this option to be reenabled by samsung. It was seriously useful as hell and now i feel my phone is half broken

Have you tried Good Lock app with MultiStar module?
It brings back most multi window features.

Looks like it might solve a bit. However i cannot access it from my country through samsung store. Do you have any suggestion where I can get it safely online? Thanks.

Try Nice lock from xda:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-9/themes/nicelock-module-download-links-module-t3923844
It's Good Lock for the places that can't get it from Galaxy store.
Everything you need is on first post, the launcher and modules...
Edit.
It doesn't bring back the hold down recent key for multiwindow though. You now have to have an active app running, tap on recent key, select and hold down the second app you want and slide it to top or bottom of screen to activate split screen.
So I updated to Pie today since Verizon finally got the ota live.
But I have found 2 main things I dont like. The biggest one is the apps that appear under the close all button when viewing your recent apps (see pic). Is there a way to remove those? Also the action if swiping up to close an app not something I'm fond of but could get used to
Next is the clock. Is there a way to move it back to the right hand corner? Makes no sense why they moved it to the left side.
I've searched through the settings and went through everything but didn't see anything to solve either of these things. Is this possible or do I just need to get used to it because its there to stay?
I haven't seen any fixes for the recents panel, but Goodlock can move the clock.
https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-9/948426-pie-clock-good-lock.html#post6493781
The common theory is that the clock was moved to the left in order to accommodate phones with notches.
Here's more detail.

Open recents and look at top right side, there is 3 dots menu, press it and go to settings, turn off recommended apps - this will remove the apps below the recent apps cards. For the second clock part, good lock 2019 can move the clock. It's from samsung, on the samsung store for some countries. If it's not, then you need to sideload it as your country is not in the whitelist. It's 10 apks isntall + small program to access the modules called nice lock (from playstore) that is developed by fellow xda senior member. There are enough materials on the web for good lock 2019 and how to side load it. There also you can change the recent menu style + return some of the multitasking abilities and whatnot.
I have white bars on both sides of my Note 9 screen. I know one is the edge screen. The other two are stationary. When I touch them the screen is unresponsive for 5-10 seconds. What are these and how can I get rid of them? I've included a screen shot so you can see what I'm referring to...
The one above on right must be egde, the other two ones under that and present in both sides must be maybe One hand operation bars. Go in settings and see if having one hand operations settings on or, if having the "one hand operation +" app, (like me)and you don't want then, go in the apps setting to get rid of them.

Thanks! The one hand operation + app was the culprit. I would have never figured that out!

By the way, maybe you don't know how to use it because it's useful : you can even leave one bar and from it you can swipe in tre directions and for every swipe you can choose what that swipe will do. Look in the settings and you will understand.
Since I recently switched to a Galaxy S10+, I donated my Mi A2 to my girlfriend. After I fully wiped my phone, she installed it like any other new phone and finished the wizard. All her apps got reinstalled nicely and everything looked nice.
But now the home button (3 button nav) sometimes just stops responding to a single press. When I hold the button I do get the Google Assistant as expected, but single press doesn't take me to the home screen. After a reboot everything is back to normal, but only for a while. The button does show the colored dots when I press it.
What could be wrong? It looks a bit like some process is blocking it to prevent exiting a wizard or something (I had it once on a Pixal tablet, which thought I had the setup wizard open), but the back button does work as expected and I can navigate using different methods.

you need to.provide more info to get the right answer ..just use full screen navigation ...in settings try reassigning it different actions to see what happens ...but sounds like the delay between single press / long press for assistant is what is screwing you ...i disabled long press for assistant cos it kept giving me the assistant when i was trying to get home ....
but still.hard to say since you have 0 info about your problem here
The problem is that I don't have much more information as well. It's hard to reproduce the issue. We tried pinning and unpinning an app, opening different apps, changing the gestures, but nothing seems to trigger the issue.
I also tried gesture navigation, but that doesn't have a gesture for going directly back home. Also I think it's not possible to reassign the buttons on stock rom.
When I used the phone I never had this issue.

on my phone if i swipe up from bottom i go straight home ... by more info i mean
1. device/rom/version/root status/ launcher/ ...stuff like that
2.relevant fixes you tried ...
3. short video of when it happens
anyway .. i don't understand because you can choose what actions you want to happen in relation to the gestures ..so if you wanna go home in one shot assign that action to a specific gesture
have you ACTUALLY tried my fix of disabling google assistant ..so you don't trigger assistant or freeze by holding home button too long ..
try assigning double tap on home to go home ..as a workaround
The phone has no customizations at all: stock rom (Android One), no root, default Xiaomi launcher.
Version: Android 10, march security update (up to date according to Xiaomi)
With the gestures I can choose between:
- navigation using gestures
- navigation using 2 buttons (this is selected)
- navigation using 3 buttons
I have tried the first option. Swiping up does indeed go to the home screen when I'm in an app. But not to my default screen. Like when I swiped right to a different home screen page, it doesn't return to the first one.
I will try disabling opening the Assistant using the home button.

you should downgrade to pie because in 10 many people have lag , ui feezing and later on random reboots.. i think you will find in a month or two the UI will freeze up ..like what is happening now may be a "mini" freeze
pie is stable.. im on miui 12 official pie for wayne and wow am glad i dithed android1 and gave up my obsession of having 10 ..
I just upgraded because Xiaomi pushed the upgrade. And my girlfriend doesn't know how to downgrade.
Besides, I have been using the same phone with the same Android version for a few months without any issues. It's only since she started using it. That's why I was thinking about some wizard/setup preventing the use of the home button, which we had a few years ago on a tablet. But that was blocking more buttons then, so not exactly the same.

Galaxy A71, Android 12, One UI = 4.1. When I first got my Galaxy A71, the recent apps button showed a vertical stacked overlapping list of my recent open apps. This was great. For some reason, this display was replaced by a horizontal slide list that only shows 1 open app at a time. How to go back to the vertical stacked overlapping list of open apps?
Can a custom launcher do this?
See the left side of the top pic to see the open app display I want. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2014/11/android-5-0-lollipop-thoroughly-reviewed/6/
Try using Good Lock (or NiceLock) + the Home Up module. It should let you customize the recents style (called Task Changer inside Home Up)
