Hi all,
I'm used to having rooted devices, but I'm not sure how to do this on Mi9, and can't lose google pay anyway so this isn't an option for me.
Is there an adblocker out there that I can use on mi9 that doesn't work as a VPN and without root?
Many thanks in advance,
Andy

Adguard for non rooted phones
I am very happy with Blokada, also non root.
EDIT: sorry, this does work as VPN, though !
Thank you but both of these solutions need VPN. Is it possible to root this phone but keep Google pay?
I think it's magisk I've used for this in the past
Magisk is not working yet on the MI9.

Hi guys,
I have a Note 3 at the moment and was able to bypass the exchange security settings using a custom ROM.
I'm buying a Note 5 and need to be able to bypass the exchange security settings on it as well. Just wondering how I can do this on the Note 5 with the least amount of stuffing around/customising my phone? I don't need any other fancy features at all - I really only use my phone for calls, messages, emails, Facebook and Snapchat.
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

There is section called Q&A!
BUMP - just got a new Note 5 (in Australia).
Just wondering what the easiest method is to bypass exchange security? I'd like to keep my phone as stock as possible.
I heard the Nine app can bypass the settings but can't see anything online about this. I can see that it can make the PIN required for the app, rather than to unlock the phone altogether, but I want to get rid of the PIN/password altogether.
I don't mind using the Nine app, or normal Email app, I just want to keep the phone as stock as possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks
Anyone?
In my company you get fired if you get caught circumventing exchange security... True of most companies in my industry.
So can't help you there. Would be a dumb way to get fired.
Just use Nine and put in the pin... It really isn't that big of an inconvenience.

You can use mailwise which has an option to bypass exchange security. Plus it's a decent mail app.

Thanks for this! Works well. I had quit putting exchange on my phone because I hated the security. I resigned to just using chrome and our corporate web email.
I already use a fingerprint security on my phone but Outlook admins disabled the use SmartLock which is an oversight in my opinion. They don't let SmartLock but do allow me to keep my phone unlocked for up to 30 minutes. So bypassing exchange security and using my thumbprint with SmartLock (when connected to my Moto 360) is more secure IMO.
As a side note Wanam Xposed module had exchange bypass though I haven't used it in forever so not sure if it still has it.
Thanks guys, I tried Mailwise and Nine and didn't like them - I want to use the stock app.
Looks like I'll have to root + xposed module. Just wondering if I'll still be able to use Snapchat if I do this?
Cheers

As long as you login to snapchat before installing xposed then you shouldn't have any problems.
Snapchat won't login if it detects xposed, but does not check for xposed after you've already logged in.

Thanks mate. WHat about when you update Snapchat and have to login again?
I had issues recently when I updated Snapchat and it checked for root and wouldn't let me log in. I had to use snapprefs to get around it which was a hassle....

I'm on the latest snapchat with root/xposed and it hasn't asked me to log back in after updates. Though I have had it ask me to login and not work after an update, once. Just not in the past few months..

Only way I'm aware of is uninstalling the xposed module and reinstalling it again. Which is probably even more of a hastle than snapprefs.
Hello experts,
I wanted to know if anyone is currently using Good Mail app to access work emails on a rooted Nexus 6. I believe the pre-requisites mandated by the s/w is that the phone should 'NOT' be rooted. I also know that there is an xposed module that facilitates using the application on a rooted phone, along with a root cloak method. Before I try and fail and get blocked by my enterprise mail server, I wanted to know if anyone else is currently using a rooted phone to access the Good application? I am on stock rooted with xposed installed. No way I am going back.
Thanks
Nine is my absolute favorite. It's paid (I think like 10 bucks or something when I bought it) but it follows material design guidelines and works seamlessly with exchange accounts. It works fine on my crazy customized N6 (Dirty Unicorns, rooted, v4a, xposed, hellscore kernel, etc...). My favorite features are- application level security if you want meaning if they remote wipe your phone it doesn't actually remote wipe your phone- it just removes your account from the Nine app. You can also revert this back to wiping the entire phone if you would want. Also if your workplace requires an unlock code/pin to be able to set up your email- it can also bypass that if you want to have a regular swipe to unlock.
Mailwise would be an alternative recommendation, I used to use it a while ago and it worked fine on my rooted phone. They have a free version too I believe.
Thanks for the reply but I was seeking help on a slightly different topic. There is a product called Good for Enterprise which is used by corporate companies to provide work mail access on personal phones (as a replacement for Bberries). The thing is that the company mandates the phone to be non rooted for this to work. Now there is an xposed module that blocks the app from checking root status or something of the sorts that makes the Good app believe that the phone is un rooted. Some have success with it, while others have had issues. I wanted to know if there is anyone with Nexus 6 rooted and on Marshmallow that has success with using the Good For Enterprise mail app?
That all really depends on the it department. Take mine for example. It is set to look for root as well as xposed. Both which is not allowed.

Boxer. I even receive my gmail using it.
Quick question, I'm familiar with using ADB for various reasons, one thing I'm not sure is if ADB has root access, without the phone being rooted?
Specifically, could I pull the hosts file, copy in everything from my other devices host file that's updated regularly, and then push it back to the phone?
I've looked on Google and saw some guides saying you could do this, but I'm not convinced ADB has root access on a non rooted phone.
I can't try right now as I won't be home for several days and no PC, so just thought I'd ask.
It can't be done without root
Yup, can't be done without root. If you're looking for adblocking I'd recommend AdHell 3 been using it since launch and it's working great. Blockda is also a great alternative.

Yeah that's what I expected, thanks for the replies though.
Yes they're two apps I've been looking at as well, so will probably give them both a try, I've already debloated the phone massively, so if I can get a decent ad blocker working too then I hardly have need for root.
i recommend adhell3 as well, works very good, since the day i installed it i havent seen one single ad. it also has a built in app disabler which works very well (used it to disable facebook & bixby)

I see a lot of people recommending it so will definitely try it thanks...and you say it can disable apps too? Even all system packages? Is it free? Because I just purchased package disabler pro to do just that haha, only £2 though so not a big issue.

Ah well. I see in adhell the list of domains being blocked growing so it's working, obviously just not in chrome. Guess I'll have to try Samsung browser instead.
Got it working in chrome, just had to add com.android.chrome|*|53 in the blacklist. Might help someone else who needs it ?

Yeah I will give it a try. The thing that's put me off changing browsers for so long is the sheer amount of data I have stored with chrome, passwords and auto fill data and such, is there any way to import this stuff to the Samsung browser?

Hi
Google Pay is arrived in Italy and I installed/setted 3 weeks ago with my cards.
Initially everything works fine, but now, since 3 days, in every place where I used NFC to pay message appears "impossible to use Google Pay".
In same shop where I used days before, without change nothing in the setting (is still default app for payment).
What I could check or what can be wrong?
I read about problem with Google Pay and P20Pro but my Google Play Services should be correct version...
Thanks for help
Hmm, is your device rooted? And is your playstore certified? You can check if the playstore is certified in the settings in the playstore app.

This doesn't work for M&S bank so maybe we're not able to work with some bank apps without removing magisk.
