changing lock screen steps counter - Honor Play Questions & Answers

So I'm back in the game on Android from being on iPhone and iPad wish to use the Google Fits steps instead of the huwai step count on the lock screen, how do I go about doing this? I've tried using the Search in Android but can't find it unless it's a theme thing or the EMUI thing? Cheers

As long as you're using the EMUI Huawei Home launcher, you cannot change the source of the footstep counter. You might be able to do this with a custom launcher, but I don't know for sure.

[Q]removing/changing DEFAULT lockscreen?

hi, i'd like to know a way to change lockscreen
i've tried market software, as go locker and magic locker,
the first one, sometimes makes original lockscreen to appear
the second one, makes wake on a little slower
i know the best would be widget locker, but why spend 2 euros, when there isn't a 100% guarantee default locker won't appear? (in some comments on market, people say sometimes it appears)
using one of those software with a software like "no lock" or those who disable default screen, would be a good idea? there could be conflicts?
isn't there a way to eradicate lockers from framework, so problem is resolved, and those software can be used without problems?
(for what i have understood they add the lock effect to the launcher, so without a lockscreen would appear launcher directly)
i was also searching for a guide to make a customized default locker... but it seems an hard argument to find something on... couldn't find any guide on this particular problem...
i'm not just talking about wallpaper, those can be changed easily, talking about adding links to apps (dont think it would be difficult to copy the slider for unlocking, and make it an apk link or similar)
probably my searches are wrong, but i always found tutorials on how using market software like widget locker etc...
we can change anything in android, is lockscreen that hard to customize????????
thanks for replys
If you are rooted and using a CM7 based rom you can disable the default lockscreen completely so you won't have that problem widgerlocker is the best thing to use for what you are wanting. Go locker is what I use but they are still working on it and don't have custom app links

How, exactly? Would it apply to MIUI, too, which I understand is CM based?
Would this give me the option to unlock the screen only with a pattern, rather than with the MIUI unlocker first and then with a pattern?
Thanks
In CM7 you can go into CM settings--> tablet tweaks and check disable lockscreen ... I couldn't tell you about MIUI because it isn't available on my phone As far as disabling the lockscreen and still using a pattern to unlock I don't know what would happen because I don't use the pattern unlock .

Lock screen wall paper

This device continues to frustrate and confound me at every turn. I have tried many times to change the dreadful lock screen wallpaper and it just refuses to change it? I have tried both Go Launcher and the stock TW Launcher to no avail. I cannot wait for people to develop some better ROM for this thing. I think it really wants to be a great device but Samsung & AT& T just don't want us to be happy with it I guess.
settings>screen>screen display>lockscreen>wallpaper
I have done that multiple times still the stock bluish lock screen remains???

Might be a dumb question.....Did you click on OK in the top right corner after resizing the picture?
Did you try widget locker?

Dude, take a deep breath.
Go into Settings/Display/Screen. Do you see where you can change the font and homescreen wallpaper? On that same sub-menu there's another area for lockscreen wallpaper. Click it, it'll take you to the wallpaper cropper. Once you've cropped the image in the wallpaper cropper, be sure to hit OK in the upper right of the screen to save and set.
Alternatively, go into Gallery, find a picture you like, open the menu, it'll give you the option to set as either a homescreen or lockscreen wallpaper, then go through the standard crop process.
Lockscreen Wallpaper is NOT handled by the launcher code, it's an OS level action, FYI.

Croak,
I am by no means an expert but I have been messing with this stuff for a while and I have tried everything including what you mentioned. It does not change no matter what I try. It isn't the biggest deal in the world but I would like to be able to change that ugly lock screen background.
If you've done what I said, and it doesn't work, then something is borked on YOUR SPECIFIC UNIT. Lockscreen wallpaper changing is **** easy in Honeycomb, and it worked fine on both my Tab 8.9 LTE units, Bell and AT&T, both before and after flashing/rooting/overclocking.
If it really bothers you, backup and then factory reset, and if that doesn't help, move on to a reflash of the AT&T firmware. Guarantee that one or the other will solve your problem.
I take it you ARE seeing the option to change in Settings and in Gallery? If so, I suspect it's a permissions issue, and could be an artifact of the ADB fun you had when rooting and overclocking.
Can you fix permissions through adb?

You can, but we have no idea what exactly is fracked, hence the nuclear factory reset option. It's the only way to be sure.
I did a factory reset and can now change the wallpaper. But I lost root and everything else is setup previously what a PIA! Oh well guess I have to re-rooted and start over. On a good note the market seems to work better now was having issues with it loading slow and hanging.

Shouldn't have to re-root, just download SuperUser from the Market.

Yea factory reset shouldn't change the kernel

Well it completely wiped everything. I did the factory reset from the UI not from recovery. No biggie I just reconfigured it from scratch. I found the problem was Quickpic which I like much better than the OEM gallery. But when I set Quickpic to default image handler it borked the lock screen wallpaper option. Once I cleared the defaults and used the gallery I was able to change the wallpaper no problem. Weird issue but I have learned that with Android nothing is surprising.

Launcher that allows Portrait hub layout without screen transitions

I'm looking for a portrait "hub" layout of sorts for my nexus 7.
I've been reading through XDA and other forums for the past few days checking out the different tablets and homescreens.
I have found some fantastic ideas from others, but they all use either ADW EX Launcher or Launcher Pro Plus.
Launcher Pro Plus doesn't play very nicely with Jelly Bean.
ADW EX works decently, but I cannot get the show/hide status bar to remove the top bar on ADW unless I take my DPI back to 160dpi to kick my notifications bar to the bottom of the screen.
I don't like the tablet UI b/c I use my device 99% of the time in portrait mode.
Unfortunately this makes neither LPP or ADWEX viable options for me.
Is there a launcher that allows to 100% disable transitions and you can jump to page 'X' without seeing any of the other screens, the same ADW and LPP do?
Thank you in advance! Any and ALL help is GREATLY appreciated.
I read that twice and I still have no clue what you are talking about. Maybe you can post a video.

Could you please guide me to where I might find those settings?

I guess I am aware I can Set the screen transition to none, but that still shows the screen as I move from one screen to another. I am hoping I can click directly on a shortcut that will take me to the desired screen (jump to screen x) without any other transition showing. Instead I see the other screens pass by even when clicking on jump to screen.
Does that make sense?

[Q] anyone know how to totally remove the stock launcher and lock screen?

I've been hunting everywhere and I can't work out how to kill the emonui.
I hate the Lock screen most of all and want a stock version. I'm rooted and have xposed installed. I'm also on Nova and I have frozen what I think is the launcher but the lock screen is still there. I think it is linked to the themes but not sure.
Any help on this would be great.

Thanks for the reply. Am I correct to assume that the lock screen even with different themes will always be the huawei one? So even this way there is no way of getting the stock kit kat lock screen?
Cheers

I think, w/o being a pro, that you got it right there, you can only use programs as AcDisplay to get another lockscreen but you'll always have the Huawei one unless you install a custom rom.
Edit build.prop and change ro.config.hw_lockscreen=true to false
This worked on P6 so it should work on P7

Getting rid of MUI

I am getting this phone soon and can not wait. BUT, I really do not like the look of MUI. I'm not interested in having some kind of IOS look-a-like with no apps tray. Has anyone else been using Google Now, or any other launcher, for a while? Could someone who knows about these things explain the pros and cons of just using a different Launcher over MUI rather than flashing a new CM based ROM? Do the changes made by MUI interfere with a more traditional Android launcher?
Used miui7 on my my oneplus one for a good while. No trouble at all to just change the launcher. Was one of the first things I did the second time I used it. Mainly because I needed a launcher that would rotate 180°. Miui doesn't do that for the launcher.
But if all you want is an app drawer, you can easily simulate one with miui launcher. Just create a folder, drop every single app in there and place it in the dock area, where a drawer would be. That's all an app drawer is after all.
The only problem is sorting the apps inside the folder since on miui 7 I never found a way of sorting apps inside a folder alphabetically. I just worked around this by swiping up from the home screen and typing in the first letters of whatever app I was searching for.
BTW you're not losing anything by replacing the miui launcher, the miui experience isn't the launcher alone, it's way more than that. If anything, you're gaining extra functionality but just using nova or alike. Can't say about miui8, never used it.
One of the first things I did when I got the Mi5 a couple of days back was to install Nova Launcher for the same reason. The other thing was to swap the hardware buttons around.
It works just as you'd expect - getting an App drawer and the ability to have a centred home screen.
One of the issues with the MIUI base is that you can't change the Lockscreen wallpaper when your active launcher isn't the MIUI launcher. This is easily fixed by switching to the MIUI launcher, changing the lock screen wallpaper from the settings menus, then switching back to your launcher of choice.
I use buzz launcher and think it's great
Change the launcher. Miui is great otherwise!
