Looks like TMobile users with the OP6T are getting RCS.

Wonder if international users are getting this. If not, I might be going back to the TMobile update.

I just set it up works great
that's what's wrong with messages and calls since I did update
Damn only reason I'll switch back to T-Mobile software is for the RCS, tempting.
Shouldn't this just naturally work for us since we're on TMobile network. I too made the switch over to the international version
I had used RCS on the S8 and it was nice. Native video calling is the most useful.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk
as long as the person you are calling has T mobile, and a phone that supports video calling; if not, its worthless..
Technically, all you need is the radio/modem IMG from the update and a ROM that has the RCS message support and you're good to go...if someone can post the modem radio update that would be great

That's exactly what I was thinking too. RCS and the non Duo video calling would be nice. The video calls on my v30 were really great and easy
I went from T-Mo, to International, to AOSP, and now I'm actually considering going back because of RCS. Is there anyway to get it on the International version?

I think you could use the mmstool. That should get you back to stock OOS.
So rcs only works for TMobile? Android messages doesn't work with this new update trying to use rcs. There's no chat. Chat does come up in the native messaging app. I tried with my Verizon pixel 3xl using chat. It doesn't work. So I'm assuming rcs only works with the other Samsung rcs phones in TMobile?
Well guys I went back to stock from having international rom and I can confirm T-Mobile rcs is working perfectly fine. Only thing is the rom version is 9.0.4

What we need is the radio/modem.IMG from that update, then you can flash it after going back to international ROM and keep RCS on OOS and custom ROMs
can someone upload this files? radio/modem?only for testing please?
Is there any risk of bricking a device by flashing a mismatching radio?

I know this seems like an unusual request but i was wondering if it were possible to use odin to install the T-Mobile Note 3 rom on or AT&T Note 3? Only reason I'm asking is because I work allot out of my office at work and there's very little cellphone reception if any in my office I was curious if it would be possible to swap roms because of T-Mobiles WiFi calling and texting feature built into their roms.
Any information would help pls.
Edit:
I've found on this forum a thread that another member was successful in using Odin to flash a T-mobile rom... here is his thread can a respected member on here please chime in?

No, as we have a locked boot loader. Trying will most likely brick your phone. WIFI calling doesn't work on AT&T as it is not supported by AT&T. That is why you don't see it on any ROMS for AT&T. Would be nice.

I have an ATT Note 3 with T MO software. It is fairly straightforward. Was easy to install. Once I installed the TMO os on the phone it WORKED BETTER.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625946
Again, I cannot wifi call but adding the tmo carrier option via the Modificatinator helped a lot and it FIXED THE GPS issue. It's obvious the GPS issue is ATT related. Adding the additional TMO was a lil pain until I figured it out it was cake.

Hi,
I am planning on installing "TweakedN3 2.0 UVUBMI7 4.3 SM-N900T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 ... for AT&T!" this weekend. Can you tell me how and what what you did in the Modificatinator to include TMO ?
Thanks!
So I loaded the Tweaked rom on my N3 and it is pretty impressive. The only thing that doesnt work is WIFI. ANNOYING. It hangs at "enabling wifi" Unsure why. Seems to do this with all the non Aroma TMO roms except Elite S5 port.
You must use the wifi fix, umm its around, I do not have it on me, PM me to remind me, I will upload it when I get home. :good:
Hello - I have the same situation as those in this thread. Got a deal on an AT&T Note 3 unlocked, but am on T-Mobile's network. I'm using the Alliance T-Mobile ROM for the AT&T Note 3 and everything is great except wifi calling doesn't work. Always get a ER041 DNS error or hangs when trying to switch wifi calling settings. Since I'm on T-Mobile's network, shouldn't I be able to use wifi calling? This shouldn't be a radio issue but rather a software one I would think.
To add to this, the following post mentions this feature is at the kernel level and wifi calling will not work. Not sure if this can be confirmed or there is truly a fix.
This wifi 'fix' that was mentioned; does it exist and do you or anyone have the link? TIA

Wifi calls working?
I was wondering if you ever got the wifi calls and texts to work on your SM-N900A? If so, what did you have to do? If I can't get it working I might just go back to my S3, only because I work at ExxonMobil and all the buildings out here are "blast proof" causing zero cell signal.

You can't get tmobile wifi calling to work, but you can get a Google voice number then installed Hangout dial to work as wifi calling, I have same experience since I never got signal in my office. So I use google voice all the time, well i need tell others my phone numbers though. it is free to call within US, and Canada, other place i think there is charge.
Cool, I'll do that. Thanks.

Okay, so I just bought an S6 (coming from a S3) from AT&T. I came on here, like I did with my S3 years ago, to see the status on Root. From what I'm reading, it seems like the consensus is that AT&T phones won't be getting root or unlocked bootloaders?
My main questions is, if I return this phone(I bought it outright), and go buy it from T-Mobile, will it basically be the same as I have now but with unlocked bootloader and root? Are there any disadvantages to doing it this way? (e.g. No LTE, etc)
Thanks!
It's the same phone but good luck getting it unlocked. Even if you pay in full for it it's a pain. The only thing that may not work is VoLTE.

Buy the unlocked version. SM-G920I. You can find it on eBay, thepowersellers.com, and a couple other places. Works perfect on AT&T, LTE and all. Unlocked bootloader, no bloat, faster updates, no AT&T bs.

Not sure how to test. My wife has an iPhone 6. Can I test with a call to her or does the iPhone 6 not support it.

So this isn't scientific, but I called someone with an iPhone 5, which doesn't have HD Voice / VoLTE, and it sounded like a typical phone call. Then I called someone with an iPhone 6, which does have HD Voice, and it sounded much clearer to me. She said I didn't sound any different than usual, but she doesn't notice the difference between an SD and HD TV either. So I think it's working, but I don't know how to confirm 100%.

Thanks for checking. To confirm if it's working or not, just look at the data icon in the status bar during a call. If it drops down the 4G/H+ then the call is not VoLTE. If the data icon stays on LTE during the call, then VoLTE is active.

Nope, drops to H+ so I guess VoLTE isn't working at the moment, but I wonder if it just requires an APN change or something trivial. Anyone have an AT&T model that they can screenshot all of the APN settings on?
Even if I can't get VoLTE working, calls already sound great, much better than my Nexus 5, so it isn't a huge deal.

I'm in the exact same boat as you... Biggest problem I can see is that I can only find the Black SM-G920I in 32gb...
I would be interested to see how rooting goes. I believe it took the community raising $20,000 to the first person able to root the S5. It took a long time but somebody finally did it. But if you root, news today said you will NEVER be able to use Samsung Pay. Not really a game changer for some people. But for me, I use Google Wallet from time to time, but I plan to fully convert to mobile payments with Samsung Pay.
I'll start it off with $20 for bootloader unlock on the AT&T S6

Agree. That capability far outweighs any reason to root. Wish they would hurry up about it.
I do remember, however, that Samsung tried this trick with Soft Card, but all it took to use it with root was someone making an Xposed script that masked root status from that app.
bump. i got $5 on it.
I was thinking about getting an international phone but there are a few versions N930F/FD/S/L/K . Which would be most compatible. As I understand it, the downside is missing some of the bands for data. 3g is the problem I think. Can anyone confirm this or input any additional issues.

Very odd as both worked in the S7 FD version I had for a bit. The requirement isn't bands but that the TMO sim has to be in sim1 not sim2. If it's in sim1 then both work. Also, VoLTE is hidden and always on if supported.
I am currently on AT&T which primarily uses bands 12 and 17, which are both supported by Mi8, but I am still a bit unsure about using one in the US. Is anybody using the Mi8 in the US? Are you getting 4G? What carriers are you guys using?
I'm on MetroPCS and I'm getting 4G. I'm getting the same service and speed that I was on my Pixel XL if that's helpful at all.
I had to flash my phone from the Russian Global ROM it shipped with to the regular ROM, and that alleviated some issues and increased my battery life. You can't re-lock the bootloader without installing Magisk, and that looks a tad tricky at the moment, but I'm sure it will sort out soon. People are really impatient

just one particular group of people where we've used mms for group messaging many years ago. just easier to keep going with it.
I found the answer. Settings in apn are fine just gotta use a textster or other messaging app that will allow you to group message. Google messages and mi messaging on the phone don't work with group mms.
Using Verizon MMS works fine here No VoLTE though

I have WiFi calling but not video.
I'm on the Global firmware, no issues. Wifi calling is provisioned, but after a lengthy chat with AT&T, was told that the Razer Phone 2 is not compatible on their network for wifi calling. Yet when going to their site and sorting by phones capable of wifi calling, the phone is listed. I may or may not have yelled at them and told them to take it off the list.
