Bluetooth devices dumped - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

For the second time in the last month or so, my phone decided to delete all the bluetooth devices. I have to re pair all of them. This happen to anyone else? Pie, AT&T.

Not just you I was just about to post something similar until you post showed up. I reset my phone completely a while ago to see if that helped and it worked fine for a while then did it again. So much of a pain not to be able to connect when leaving for work in car. I may look at the ATT forums today and link to your thread.

ATT Reference as well.

I'm getting it all the time, my watch, headsets and car all lost and it seems to be whenever I restart the phone. I have also noticed that when one headset is connected and then the battery needs charging and I swap to my spare I have to repair again, but not just pair I have to pair it to my watch first then to my phone again, very strange! Never had this issue before and like you both I have reset my phone and even updated the firmware in the hope it would fix.

AT&T replaced my phone a couple weeks ago because of this, even though I bought the phone from samsung.com. Hasn't happened with the new phone yet, but with it happening more frequently now, i expect it to start again.

GS2-G regularly drops cellular network entirely AT&T

I've done some searching on this, but so far nobody's problem seems to match up with mine. Any help would be much appreciated!
I bought my wife and I both international Galaxy phones to use on AT&T's network. I have a Galaxy Note, and my wife has a GS2-G. My phone is super stable, but my wife's phone will regularly drop all cellular connectivity with no warning. About once a day or so, it just drops everything. Wifi will still connect, but the phone can't text, make calls, or get data. The signal bars are replaced with a circle with a slash through it. This doesn't happen when we're moving from cell to cell. It often happens while she's at work (in the same building all day), and this weekend it happened twice at home. We have great reception at our house, too.
Her phone is setup using the APN settings for a "medianet" phone, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196118.
Otherwise, it's running stock 2.3.6 baseband XXKL4.
i am experiencing similar problems.losing signal totally without any hint.
not once a day but sometimes it happens to me also.
Sent from my GT-I9100G using XDA
i too have this problem. i too sit in the office the whole day. same spot. and this happens frequent enough to piss me off. i raised this issue several times in other discussions, and they keep saying its probably network issue or a faulty phone.
1. i use this same network on my previous phone (iphone), and its fine
2. i cant just send it for warranty cause they will keep the phone for a week or 2 to troubleshoot. so i dont want to be without the phone for that period of time without knowing for sure its a faulty phone.
since i see quite a few people going through and thanks to projectrally, i hope we can all narrow this problem down to what may be the cause, and take necessary action.

i have tried flashing diff roms, modems, kernels. i have disabled fast dormancy, and problem still persist.
Got this problem yesterday for the first time , I had to reboot.
When the problem occured, i tried to find network but the phone kept searching...
...
Same problem here! I think all we can do is wait for the ics update.
That should fix it...
P.S: It usually happens when im running low on battery...
im still not sure if its a software or hardware issue
yup i have the same prob to sometimes..after rebooting the phone it works jst fine.. but its quite annoying rebooting the phone when it happens
but it doesn't happen so often as u all described.. mayb once or most twice happens to me in a day ...
Maybe its a hardware problem, LG Optimus 3D has also this problem of "ghost calls" and have the same hardware (TI OMAP 4430)
After ICS update i am facing the same problem. Before i read this thread, i thought it is a software bug but now it seems to be a hardware problem.

HELP! SEANDROID and FRP Issues.

I realize this has been mentioned before but, I couldn't find a solid answer specific to my problem.
As it currently stands, my Note 5 bootloops or so it seems with the SEANDROID and FRP Binary errors appearing with the Note 5 logo, and fade to black. Rinse, repeat.
I'll back up a little bit, my friend got me a Note 5 on his plan with Bell last November. After just 30 days he was fed up with the service and went to epic ends to cancel and return both his phone and mine, of course this didn't work. So, after a litany of calls and driving to different stores for various credits. He effectively was left with our phones and a bill total of around $800 after everything said and done. Somewhere in this mix though Bell, decided or someone he was laying into to blacklist both his phone and my beloved Note 5.
I was using the phone for work at the time and suddenly it didn't work!? So he told me his wasn't working either and alas we set off to figure out some circumvention around this, which ended up with some nerdy guy in a Tim Horton's changing the IMEI's of my Note 5, which had it's own issues itself.
First we had to root the phone, then he used an octoplus box to unlock it and pop another IMEI in there. I remember after the rooting portion though he had me remove my fingerprint, my google account and my samsung account. This was back in mid December. I, yesterday after all this time finally began to re-add my accounts. I added my google account and fell asleep after a old friend stopped by and smoked me up on a spliff which I haven't touched in years. For obvious reasons, I passed out to wake up to my phone dead, so I plug it in and BOOM I have the above errors popping up above my logo. For note though, the one error "SEANDROID" was present after the IMEI change. Now, I'm just bootlooping. I did read that I can flash a different kernel or another ROM, my biggest issue is I have client's files stored on my phone along with a bunch of sexy pictures of my girlfriend
So, I ask my fellow XDAer's what steps can I take to remedy this without losing my internal storage.
A happy footnote more to those that may think I'm a wily thief or some petty criminal looking to break a code or do something illegal with the phone. I am not and in an ironic twist my friend the account holder actually got both phones off the blacklist after yet another tear into Bell. Doesn't help me now but, it does show that had I waited I wouldn't have been in this predicament or even had a reason to go onto Kijiji and find a seedy IMEI guy.
Thanks anyone for reading this entirely too long post and I appreciate any help!

Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920A - No display but can still boot to Odin mode

Recently I got caught in a downpour and my phone was in my pocket. My work email requires security restrictions that wipe the phone after 6 failed unlock attempts. The water caused the phone to think it was trying to be unlocked which then initiated the wipe. During that, the phone then shutoff completely mid wipe. Now, the phone turns on but more often then not there is no display. I can tell it's booting because it will disconnect and reconnect to odin, and I can flash stock firmware but there is no display. What I don't understand is, randomly the screen comes back. But as soon as the device is turned off, it won't come back.
The phone is disassembled and I have access to the battery if needed.
Primary question: Is there anything firmware related that can cause the display not to function at all or is it more likely a hardware issue?
Any tips or suggestions?
I also hv almost same problem with galaxy s6. But in mine case it just don't display anything for some hour. After that it works like charm. During weakend when i'm home there is no problem but elese when i'm at work problem happens.

I guess without root XDA members don't give a screw.
Fir this phone the other forum is much more active.
What are your thoughts and experiences on the update so far? WiFi seems much faster battery seems just as good.
Just got the update yesterday myself. was excited to see that it was 7.1.1 but got annoyed fast that it broke my admittedly already broken Bluetooth. (wouldn't turn on) But after backing everything up and a little bit of stumbling through the "restore" part of a full reset everything is running great as far as i can tell. I like the new launcher but i don't like that I can't do away with the "most recent" apps thing at the top. i just don't use it and don't wan't it there if I'm not going to use it.
The update broke my phone. Hooray.
**edit** Ok, so updated the phone. I got an error saying Recovery was unreadable, booted in bootloader mode... Rebooted, same thing. Shut off the phone. It recommended to use Software repair from Verizon... So plug in the USB-C, fire up the phone... It boots up to the splash screen and freeezes... Then 10 minutes later, REBOOTS TO RECOVERY?!
So I try and do what I can in recovery, but to no avail. So I reboot it again... And let it go. It bootloops 4-5 times and eventually boots up! So I thought, cool. It's fixed. Nope! I reboot, and I'm back in phone limbo. Stupid POS. :\
So I factory reset... And now the phone is even more broken than before. YAY!!!! This is the worst update ever.

There is a old version for phones before 2013 and a newer that you can full erase and install fresh

It's not working with my Surface Book. I'll have to try it from another computer at home... I have a weird behavior when I leave my SIM card and SD card inside the phone on top of that: Once every 3 times I reboot, phone doesn't boot anymore. Getting annoyed with all of this.

Do you have a spare sd sounds like it's going bad or needs to be formatted. If you can I'd wipe everything internal external and fresh install

Remove your sim car tray before boot, guess the update doesn't like our CA network (had the same issue, but did it again when I plugged it to charge this after noon)

Other threads say it's an issue with Samsung SD cards (Which I have). Whenever I boot without it, everything is fine... Problem is I still can't restore from the Software assistant app, all I can do is factory reset from recovery.
Anyone here have a Moto Z force Droid and has 7.1.1 installed? Also will need knowledge of using adb shell and linux command to dump partitions (dd). My phone is in dire need of help. :\ Thanks!

And for anyone who hasn't upgraded, can you use the method here to capture the OTA URL:

Did it fix the Bluetooth issue (what was your annyway?)
Me 2 since start of July, I got nothing but trouble with wireless... A very bad 2,4gz reception, no more 5gz visible, and no Bluetooth...
As for Verizon assistant, did you manage to make it work ? I think I'll give it a try...

After reading on Verizon website, I just realized that it takes up to a week after an update before you can use the assistant...
I also paid a premium for that samsung micro SD 128gb Evo... But also hope it can fix our z force droid Bluetooth issues...
Can't wait to see if the assistant can fix it (do you think a re-install without the SD card can change something ?)

Long trip to go across the border for Verizon... (I don't have a Verizon account) and Moto is a last resort if the software assistant can't fix my issue.
Anyone else noticing improved battery life after the update? I did a full factory reset after the update because it broke my Bluetooth but its been running great for me. Today might just be a fluke so ill keep a close eye over the next few days but so far it seems to be doing better with idle drain and drain with light usage.(web browsing, music, pictures, ect.)

I didn't get your luck, since the first small update in beginning of July, nothing but trouble, phone overheat (huge drain) reboots often (more drain) and weird unused app battery usage... Since August update, no improvement same thing...
I used to be able to make 2 days or a little more if I'm lucky... Now barely a day... ?

Nexus 6 WiFi stuck at turning on

So i've had this issue for a while now. It started off inconspicuously where my phone would hang and reboot everytime it wasn't plugged in to the charger and the wifi was turned on with charge less than 60%. This caused a ton of bootloops so I figured it was a battery issue and i've ordered a new battery. Also, i stopped receiving OTAs from google so i had to manually flash factory images to update my nexus. Now, i had this problem where the wifi would get stuck at turning on but after a few reboots it'd work. However since flashing the N8I11B update (i realized later that i should have been a little more thorough with my research as this was for Verizon users only) my wifi just wouldn't turn on. It's stuck at turning on and refuses to switch on at all. I flashed the MOB31T version of 6.0.1 and still no luck. I did notice duing setup that the MAC was set to 02:00:00:00:00:00. I tried resetting the network settings but no luck there as well. I'm getting my battery changed soon but i know that has nothing to do with it. I hope its a software issue and not a hardware one because that would mean changing the motherboard and i might as well just buy a new phone with that money. Oh, also data services work fine its only the wifi that isn't working. Also keep in mind that i know nothing about linux shell scripting but i'm willing to do whatever it takes to fix this issue myself.

My bluetooth works. Only wifi is giving problems. No, only stock android on my phone
This happened with my phone. It's an issue with a batch of the Nexus motherboards I believe. Some batch of motherboards made by Motorola have an issue where the wifi chip begins to die after 2-3 years.
If your issue is what I think it is: The only solution is getting a replacement motherboard.
Otherwise, you can try opening the Nexus and reflowing the wifi chip. It worked for a couple of days in my case, but only temporarily. Ended up having to get my mobo replaced.
