If your running 9.0, you can no longer use apps like AFont to make a font using ttf which was possible on any galaxy running 8.0.. Not even galaxy theme maker works anymore. Yes there are some fonts in the galaxy store but they are old and basic fonts... Sucks that's samsung removed that feature, same reason substratum no longer works either..

As I understand it, Substratum not working is more of Google's fault than Samsung's. Wouldn't be surprised if the font thing is also Google's fault, but in a way that ends up benefitting Samsung since they get to coax people into buying their fonts.

I have been using a great font replacement app from the play store for some time:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kapp.ifont
It may not have the snappiest title but it includes a huge amount of fonts that all work on Samsung Galaxy devices including the Tab Pro 8.4 and you don't need root access either. The pro version of the app will even sideload fonts you find from elsewhere.
I would recommend the SegoeUI based fonts as they look incredibly crisp on the Tab Pro 8.4
I never new about this app but its great just installed it and using the armani font - I will install this app on all my devices - thank you !
Sent from my Xperia Z Ultra using XDA Premium HD app
Have you checked out Fontster? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chromium.fontinstaller
From my Pro Tab 8.4
Big ups, man. I've been thinking about changing fonts and this program is exactly what I need. I especially like this program because it allows you to change the font even if you're not rooted. I haven't decided if I'm going to root my tablet or not so iFont is better than Fontster for me.
I see nothing wrong with the fonts loaded, do these just provide a library to choose from?

iFont shows a huge list of alternative fonts, you select what you want and install. Dead easy.
Hi, guys, the other day was using an s7 and noticed built in samsung themes. You can apply different themes that will change mostly everything.
Many of them looks nice.
Anyone knows if there is a way to have theme support on note 4 6.0.1?
I did some google search and found some info, but always talking about 5.1.1
Thanks.

You can flash any s7/note5/note7 ported custom rom for your model.
You will get all the features from new device's including theme support.
Are there even any that work for the note 8? Been trying to them the system and UI. Had to factory reset twice now ??
Online few work with Samsung at the moment... You can use these.

These are not root for Samsung bone stock. Need Substratum on your device and the Samsung add on, $1.99 I believe unless they've lowered it from when I purchased it, both from the Play Store.

No, you'd need a layer from here and not sure ones been posted yet.

Also, most of these will work except for the nav bar height. It will take some time as they're spread out all through the thread. These are for the S8+ and I'm using several on my Note 8, as I said all but the nav bar height should work.

Substratum can't do that yet, I have a couple of layers that can - one with blue and the other with red.
Are there any substratum themes that are free for our note 8?
theres a couple in here...https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes
So glad someone brought this up, as the only one I could find was Swift Dark. I chose the tab for Samsung devices and Swift Dark was my only option to purchase. Waste of money as it currently stands since my current theme dark high contrast from the would you believe it Samsung theme store works just as good if not better. Substratum is hyped up in imho or immature for the N8.
My take, rubbish.
Edit: shouldn't have said "rubbish" , but inadequate at this time.

I'm just using the samsung themes at this point; there are a few that are pretty nice, and until there is a BL unlock/full root for this phone, I wont bother with Substratum at this point..had it installed with a couple of the themes that supposedly work on this phone, but it borked gmail, play store and a couple of others, so off it went..
Its too bad, since I have bought around 20 or more subs themes in the past, so hopefully it will be fixed down the road.
This phone just came out, so its a matter of patience for now..

Yup. At this time, I only use it for changing my status bar and getting pixel UI settings
Always stays black if you install the ones you've updated with play store. Just install again in substratum

When you mention working with Samsung, one still has to avoid selecting certain options during installation of the overlays right ? Meaning I cannot merely select all after choosing S8 in the pull down menu without running the risk of bootloops?
In summary, which options should one not check for installation for those you linked on your post? Or are the Samsung specific ones all bootloop free.? Cheers

I've used all, just select S8, except for the nav bar. I use another for that. Haven't had any bootloops and have been using them from day one. If you do have issues you just need to boot into safe mode and uninstall the overlay and you're back in business. The ones specifically for Samsung should be okay but the others probably not. Here's a new onr, I haven't tried it yet as I have mine setup just the way I like it.

Which do you prefer and why. I have used both and can't figure out which one I like better so I'm reaching out to the community for their opinion lol. If you say substratum what is a good theme for Substratum?
i like them both, and often do a mix up with the 2 of them!
I like linear and Victory right now..

glorified nova prime launcher. I have no desire to implement another UI look than stock or nova.
I like the theme store better. For one I am not rooted and that makes substratum inconvenient to use. Even when I had a rooted Pixel and Pixel 2 most of the themes would never apply correctly. Maybe that's more to do with the theme developer than substratum but either way that's my experience. With Samsung themes I have had little to no problems with themes applying correctly since I started using it on my old Note 5. My only wish is that Samsung would allow for apps to be themed instead of just the system itself.
Thread cleaned.

If you rooted you could use magisk.
You don't really have to root just to install fonts, do you? On my Note 8 and 9, I used an app called GxFonts, but it doesn't work on my new RoG II.

You need to install FlipFont-type fonts. I just installed a FlipFont font pack from the Play Store and they showed up.
