Some people having trouble with latest released carbon rom 8.1 Oreo running, the issue is with Google play services which stops again and again. I found it that if you install stock or full package of open gapps it won't happen then. And rom will run smoothly.
Google play services stops again and again with pico or nano version of gapps.
That's it for now....

CM 10.2.1-ovation
Android 4.3.1
Date and time: Use network time
Kernel: 3.031-green+
After installing the latest CM "stable" update using the built in CM upgrade system, the google play store no longer works. I get "No connection retry" when loading play store. Prior to 10.2.1 play store functioned normally.
I googled this, and found none of the solutions worked. I've tried:
1. Ensuring network time is set
2. clearing data cache from play store app
3. Uninstalling and reinstalling play store from an apk
Wondering if this is a known issue with a known fix from someone in the community.
Thanks
If you were previously using CM 10.1.3 (Android 4.2.2) and have now upgraded to CM 10.2 (Android 4.3), you need to reinstall GAPPS for your new Android version.
So you'll need to download the latest GAPPS, found here: http://goo.im/gapps (for CM10.2.x) and then boot into CWM Recovery and install GAPPS manually. The automatic CM updater does not install GAPPS unfortunately.
Once you've done that, reboot back into Android and you're good to go. All the best.

Thanks! I did a factory reset and installed gapps. Everything works again. I guess when upgrading android versions using the CM updater, gapps will always have to be reinstalled? This is by design? Weirdly, no other gapps had any issues after the upgrade. Gmail, youtube, etc all worked fine, just not the play store.

You only need to update gapps when you do a major update like you did from CM10.1 to CM10.2. But you now have CM10.2 stable so there will be no more updates to it.

hi to all ,
i just flashed cm 12 ghost nightly for my moto x xt1052, from then i am getting a problem, i couldnt sign google account, when i try i am getting a msg that "unfortunately google play services has stopped" and i couldn't open play store , anyone help?????????
you have to flash a Gapps package first. Just search and download one, put it in your internal memory and flash it from recovery.
What he said, flash 5,1 gapps. Just Google it. Paranoid Android gapps works just fine
Hi All,
I was running CM12.1 on my HTC One M7 and I saw there was a new update (OTA) so I've downloaded it and installed it from the recovery. Afterwards it was a CM13 update but it went well (a "dirty flash") but as soon as CM booted the first time I did get a lot of "play services is stopped" errors. So I thought, Gapps is not compatible so I've downloaded the latest version from http://opengapps.org, the nano version. Flashed it, cleared the dalvik cache and rebooted.
Now the Google Play store is working again and I won't get any "play services is stopped" messages but other Google apps like Gmail and Youtube crashes directly when I open them. Maybe I've to try the "stock" version of Gapps?
Any thoughts?
Try a clean install, thats what you should always do when installing a major update.
I'm afraid I've too... but it's a OTA update (CM Nightly) so I've to pay more attention on what updates I install and won't install, didn't see it was CM13. Now trying to install the stock version of Gapps (with all the apps instead of the nano version). I hope it works, don't have the time to do a clean install with backups and stuff now.
I've installed the "stock" version of GApps and now everything is working fine.
I cant seem to find a reliable gapps for CM12.1, SlimLP and Resurrection Remix. I have tried Dankomans slim mini, TkGapps, OpenGapps pico, nano, full, they all install just fine but then when the system boots and i try to login to the play store to update my apps they all start 505ing and its usually just google apps and services, i seem to be able to install other non google apps just fine.
If someone could help point me in the right direction i'd really appreciate it, ive been flashing for hours, im at my wits end. :crying::crying::crying:

Open GAaps arm/5.1/nano works fine. Your problem lies elsewhere. Be sure to do a full wipe and flash GAaps concurrent with rom. Leave FlashFire defaults alone.
I tried to use Open Gapps and it didnt work for SlimLP, so I installed CM12.1 with Open Gapps, I am getting the same problems with CM12.1, So i said lets try another rom, I installed Resurrection Remix, same problem, so i tried tkgapps same thing. why is it 505ing with every gapps package and rom that i Use? is there something im doing wrong? Perhaps the newer builds on open gapps have probelms? Should i try an older build? I am using flashfire 0.53
Here is what i do when flashing list order first to last:
1. Wipe: System Data, 3rd Party apps, Dalvik, Internal storage, Cache Partition
2. Install Rom.xxx.zip (default ff settings)
3. install SuperSU (default settings)(if necessary)
4. Install Gapps package (Default ff settings)
everything goes through smoothly, i get to a good running environment. Then, once I add my google account and open the store, it attempts to check for updates. Updates are usually available for google webview etc, they all fail with a 505. Tried, removing account then signing back in, changing time, clearing cache stopping processes, nothing seems to solve the issue.
so ive finally encountered a solution to at least get everything running. Install CM12.1 with TKgapps (tk_gapps-modular-pico(uni)-5.1.1-20150920-signed.zip) NOT opengapps. Not sure why opengapps isnt working right now but its not, with no rom that i have tried (fire 7" 2015) other versions of tkgapps didnt work either they also 505ed on me, but these ones work great.
You can find them here:
https://basketbuild.com/devs/osm0sis/gapps
Still hoping for good working gapps for SlimLP (my favorite so far)
yeah... so even after all of that, i woke up just to find it 505ing again. fml.
i have never had this problem with any rom for any other device, EVER. this is so frustrating.
I gave up on finding a fully functional gapps package for any roms on this device. What I did is just force update every apk 505ing on me through ADB. Everything is running smoothly now. Will update if anything changes. (should have done this like 5 hours ago... but when you are tired you dont think straight... hahahaha)

Sorry to hear of all the problems w/GAaps packages. Seems to be a 1-off as a large community uses Open GAaps on this device w/o issue. Multiple ROMs.
So after doing some weird stuff I managed to completely screw up my gapps package. The problem is that whenever I try to install a package from opengapps it always says that my android version is different.
For example - I am on stock EMUI 8.0 (tried a version installed by eRecovery WiFi, and one manual update using @Jannomag's guide) and after flashing opengapps for 8.0 I get an error that my android version is 7.1.2. I tried installing it on AOSP ROM as well (RROS and OMNIROM) and I get an error again - different version.
After installing AOSP ROM all google apps are crashing, phone app, camera app, google drive, gmail... etc. Weird thing is that if I'm on stock EMUI gapps seem to be working fine.
opengapps log only says that I'm trying to flash the wrong version.
Is there a way to trully install a completely fresh and clean version of EMUI? As I said I tried installing both eRecovery and manual upgrade but for some reason the gapps problem seem to persist no matter what. I can't stand using EMUI though, I need a way to get a clean version of EMUI so I can install an AOSP ROM and have a functional gapps package.
My model is VTR-L29C432.
