Hello!
As I know Galaxy S has Wolfson DAC inside. But in the Galaxy S Plus, is there a Wolfson DAC too?
Thank you. :good:
(my question maybe lama, I only know that Wolfson DAC is the best...)
Hi
Just got this tab s2 t713 (snapdragon) variant as an upgrade for my 3 years old note 8 but i noticed that the stereo speaker quality is bad in compare with my note 8 which have a more living speaker that provide rich sound and alot better bass with a more deep sound, is there is any workaround or fix available to optimize the speaker on this device ?
I saw somewhere here (I think) a port of the Asus (??) audio tools to the Sammysung... maybe that will help?
Any information about the DAC in the Note 9?

Not that I can find yet? Will be interesting to find out.

Same here ....
Waiting to hear about this too. Will be the difference between me buying the Tmobile variant or an unlocked international one. Only reason I rooted my Note 8 was for Viper and it was worth the 20% battery loss for the sound quality, but if they can get the dac anywhere close to the V20, I'll no longer need root.
Samsung using hi dac ? ??
No way
Should be the same as the s9 plus. Go figure that one out.

I'm pretty impressed with the headlamp when playing high res audio.

There was an article on the phone arena from ifixit I think. The DAC is Qualcomm AMD the amplifier is MAXIM. THAT'S for the snapdragon version. Anyway it's the same from S9

I have Exynos version. And super pleased with the quality.
Same here. It's a step up from the N8 which was already good. Anyone know anything about the DAC in the international version?

It should be the same dac , they never changed it i am guessing.

It's the same DAC as the international versions of S9. Maybe we could find some information on the S9 forums
I suspect, I don't yet know, the DAC in the Note 9 will be a Wolfsen (Cirrus logic) in the Exynos variety? Very accomplished DAC

I forgot if apple bought Cirrus logic or Wolfson or if Cirrus logic bought Wolfson but IIRC Wolfson is part of Cirrus logic now which is part of Apple. I don't know if Apple wholly owns it though. Still pissed off Apple bought Authentec and only used it for themselves. My laptop fingerprint sensor has not worked as well as previous models with Authentec. But it's apple. Shouldn't be surprised. They buy IP or companies and then invent everything.

That is not the case. Wolfsen microelectronics was purchased by Cirrus logic in 2014. To date Cirrus logic is owned by Cirrus logic. Who they do business with is another matter.

Hey guys, can you please tell me If there is any difference in internal audio quality viz a viz S9 and Note9 (both exynos). Cant seem to justify the $300 difference (dont really need the SPen)

I highly doubt there is a $300 difference. Probably not even a $50 difference.
If you have no need for an s-pen, there are only a couple things you're paying for with the Note9: larger battery, larger screen, better cooling, more storage (and RAM, potentially).
But the s-pen is the centerpiece of this phone. It's why you buy it.
Does our note 9 has built-in DAC for improving music quality?

Not sure about a h/w chip, but there are plenty of s/w settings incl. Dolby Atmos and UHD upscaling.

All phones with a headphone jack have a DAC as it's required (DAC = Digital to Analog Converter). The DAC in the S9+ isn't the same as the ones LG is using in their high-end phones but it's not bad either. As mentioned, there are software adjustments as well.
The DAC in the Note 9 isn't that bad however it is not the same as the DAC found in other phones that are designed to have high sound quality.
what are the Note9 DAC specs?

Yes, it does (as all phone with 3.5mm jack). It also has AMP. The DACs in the US sd845 variant and the exynos 9810 variant are different tho and the exynos 9810 one is better. The only thing that this SOC is better compared to sd845.
The DAC used in the Note 9 is manufactured by Wolfson.
Wolfson was purchased by Cirrus Logic. Wolfson Make some of the most accomplished DAC's available. I am deliberately avoiding the term 'best' as its highly subjective and sound reproduction is personal taste.
I am able to assure the reader that Wolfson DAC's are highly sought after and industry respected. The Wolfson DAC is found only in the Note 9 with the Exynos chip though. Its is not part of the PCB as is the case in the SD variant.
Use an external amp or amp DAC combo and the Note 9 is a superb reproducer of sound.
Samsung have, with the 9 series of smart phones, at last reached top quality industry sound reproduction-sound stage requisites, took them long enough lol.

I answer too, even if this thread is quite old. I'm really impressed by the sound of my Note 9 exynos. I've plugged in a planar magnetic headphone (Verum one), which usually requires a powerful amp for driving, and I can get a very good volume. So sad that newer smartphones haven't the 3,5 jack anymore.

Those fascist NPCs, who tell us we don't need a headphone jack and we should accept the Brave New World, they will never understand!
Hi community,
I am interested in buying this phone, but I put it next to A72 and tested the camera. I have visited numerous shops to test these out.
These are the main things that bother me:
I found that the screen on the S20 FE is more on the blue-ish side and more dimmer than the A72. Basically, the white on the S20 FE are cold.
The main camera of S20 FE is not as sharp as the A72. I think the S20 FE camera is similar in result as the S21+, but I prefer the result of A72 put side by side.
What do you think?
It depends what matters most to you. Here's a comparison:
Compare Samsung Galaxy A72 vs. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G - GSMArena.com
www.gsmarena.com
The S20 will be a little bit faster, the camera experiences will be similar, and the A72 will have better battery.
If you're on a budget, get whichever is less money because both are really solid at the end of the day. If you don't care about price, the S20 FE is better all around.
avoid the version that has the Exynos SoC if you do decide to get the FE

I do agree that the FE is faster etc, but do you notice the same difference in panels?

Roughly they are the same price, but I may prefer the A72 based on the display panel... From my view the 4-5 FE I tried had the same "dull" panel. Possibly they changed the manufacturer or have a newer display?

They are "similar" phones but I would say if you prefer the A72 because of the panel then get that one - of course when you have the device you won't be holding them side by side and any difference is quickly forgotten. The A72 has a 3.5mm headphone post which is great. However the reason I picked up a S20 FE 5g was wireless charging but mainly DeX - using desktop modes is what I like to do, but if you don't care about wireless charging or DeX then the A72 certainly is an option.
