Hello is there a way I can turn on Edge notifications when I get a message on WhatsApp, but turn them off when I get a voice or video call?
Hey! Yes, you can! In Settings>Display>Edge screen>Edge Lighting>Manage notifications. Just enable/disable apps from there and it should work.
But that wasn't my question. I am talking about within WhatsApp itself. When I get messages I want to get Edge notifications, but not when somebody calls me on it.

I have an annoying issue with my phone and don't know if it can be remedied or not. I am sure that others may have the same issue. If I miss a phone call and the person leaves a voicemail I get four different app notifications. The icons in the notification bar include: missed call icon, email icon with possible transcript of voicemail, text message with possible transcript of voicemail and finally, Google voice icon with transcript and voice recording. I use Handcent for texting, gmail for emails and Google voice for voicemails. I would like to keep Google voice as I like the transcript and voice recording available in one spot. Is there a way to selectively not receive notices for phone calls from specific apps?

i wont be of too much help here, but i can suggest turning notifications off for such things as a bootleg temp fix until you figure it out.
ive never used handscent so that may be it, or more likely an app for transcripting voicemails as that seems to be the common factor here.
Lots of threads on this topic...but none that I think are all that current?
Note 3 running Lollipop and Gear 1 running Tizon. I don't get Whatsapp notifcations on my gear. I do get SMS but I have GO SMS and the only way I was able to get SMS notifications was to receive text notifications on both the stock app and Go?
Is there an easier way to get all the notifications to work as they should? Even with Whatsapp and GO checked off in the notification section of Gear Manager 2.2.15022599, I still don't get them all working?
Any advice?
Thanks,
I prefer to use Google Messenger for texting, as opposed to the stock Samsung Messages app.
Anyways, only one issue that bugs me with Google Messenger, when I get a new text, it does not turn the screen on. I hear the notification sound just fine, but I have to turn the phone, to see the message on the lock screen.
Is there an option to have Google Messenger activate the screen on with an incoming text ?

I have the tmobile S10. I have the option enabled to recieve pop up notifications for sms messages. I am using the Samsung sms app. For some reason I dont recieve a pop up or a notification sound for some people, but I do for others. Has this happened to anyone else or know how to always recieve a pop up and notification and sound on all recieved text messages. my notification sound is always on full volume.
thanks
i'm ok with being an idiot, but i can't seem to figure out how to get my incoming texts to give me a buzz on either the phone or samsung watch.
allow all notifications
they're all allowed, google messages thing. i might have to reinstall i guess. i see the notification on my screen and watch, but definitely don't get a buzz or a blip sound
oh, maybe because i have messages for web syncd and open
nope
Do you get other notification sounds?
yes, i'd hate reinstall it....but it might be about that time
Do you use the default Google message app?
Did you set a custom notification sound for text messages?
solved
