Keep in mind it will work but it's not a 100% port, no voicemail tab and spam will work but force close every time you choose a number to spam

I have installed several versions and can't get caller id to work. Could you post a download link and how you installed with any instructions on settings. Also are you on Snapdragon or Exynos?

So I was able to get it installed with adb and the setting that you posted a screenshot of is present and toggled on, however I am not getting caller ID info on any number that has called. We tested several different numbers to no avail. Any ideas?

The only official releases that broadly work on most android phones are the "go" versions.
Latest one is from Dec 17th, 2018:

Caller ID and Spam blocking does work. Voicemail tab works as well but carrier dependent

I was able to successfully install the version you mentioned in your post, but I was still not getting caller id working, I noticed that there was more than one version of the apk you linked. One was for nodpi the other was 240 dpi, which did you install?

get the nodpi version.
For caller ID, you need to go into the phone settings and enable nearby locations (and give the location permission).

I'm trying out this one:

It seems to work. I can make calls and receive calls. I don't get the "Your device is not supported" message anymore. I haven't tested out caller id or spam yet.

For those who have installed the Google dialer and claim that caller id works, can you please verify if you mean enhanced caller id which shows a name, number, and city or just plain caller id that shows number and sometimes city/state. Thanks in advance.

My CallerID is working but only as far as it is a CONTACT I already know of. Not the spam detection. I have no idea how they get the unknown-contact caller ID.
My S10e has the Hiya! powered Samsung one for the main dialer.

Just an FYI, my only interest in using the Google dialer was for enhanced caller id. For some reason when I first got the phone I tried Hiya and it did not display unknown names. I downloaded it again today and upon opening it asked for permission for overlays. This didn't occur on the 1st install. Upon allowing this permission, I am now getting the enhanced caller id functions in Hiya. It even updated my recent call list to show the names of the unknown numbers I called or received calls from yesterday. Hopefully this can be a solution for those in this thread looking for that functionality.

Are you referring to the full Hiya or just what came installed on the S10? (Snapdragon here)

Google Voice and +1 dialing

First off, thank you to everyone who has had a hand in making Android on Vogue a reality. Amazing work.
I've spent some time researching failed outbound calls in GV, and as best I can tell the problem does not lie within GV, but is a limitation of the dialer. I'm noticing that all outbound calls to "+1" numbers fail on my device. As GV outbound calls are to +1 numbers, they always fail. Are others experiencing this, and if so could you please list carrier information?
I am using a Vogue with Warm Donut on Alltel.
Finally, is it possible that this is a radio issue? Is anyone having success with +1 dialing?
I have had the same experience.
Instead of using the Google Voice app for dialing out, I use "GV Dialer" from Android Market. Very reliable. Works 100% of the time with no problems.
Hope that helps...

I tried this also. My question is: Is there any way to use GV for all calls by default, but then to use GV for a specific #? When I call my mom, I want it to be Sprint to Sprint so I can't use GV.

I have had the problem with the "Voice" app from google for a while as well. not so sure that it is connected to the +1 dialing, as I've found sometimes just dialing again (sometimes it takes 5 tries) allows it to go through. a reboot ALWAYS allows it to function, at least for me. others noted that using plemen's old build that set build.prop to mimic T-mobile G1 broke "Voice" from working at all; I'm wondering if using market enabler will do this as well. not the whole story, though, as this has occurred to me since I stopped using market enabler a week ago.
berardi, "Voice" from google has a widget that with one click cycles through the different calling options (all calls GV, only international, no calls, etc). not ideal, but it works. it is under shortcuts rather than widgets, though, called "toggle google voice".
Yes, you are correct about the +1 dialing being the problem. I am on USCC and I cannot dial any +1 numbers, so this is a showstopper for using the GV app. Seems to me that there should be an option in its setting to use the prefix or not.
The solution is this: Check the market for an app called "GVMyNumber". It integrates well with the GV app, except when you go to place a GV call, this app dials your own GV number and goes thru the prompts. It is the best app for doing this that I have tried.

I think I still disagree. +1 dialing is not the whole problem. Tested again this pm, probably dialed 12 times in a row that failed, with a restart in the middle (apparently restarts don't always fix the problem), then two calls in a row that went through fine. ALL calls including the last two had +1, so that is not the whole story. Yes, dialing Google voice to dial out always works so programs that use that are a great workaround.

You might be right that the +1 is not the entire issue. However, I tried this a couple times: I dialed the GV access number manually, without the +1, and my previously attempted call would then go through.
I had originally thought this was a carrier specific problem, but now I'm definitely rethinking that. I am not optimistic of finding a workaround, other than using 3rd party apps.

I tried loading GVMyNumber.apk and get a message "could not be installed on this phone".
I am running Myn's Donut v1.6.
It appears this app has a minimum requirement of Eclair Android 2.0 and above.
Hopefully they update it to support earlier versions of Android.

short-term solution
I stumbled upon a program in the market. Called "GV" that will use either dialing patterns or the callback method. It works great, it's free, and it appears the developer is now distributing the code on his website.

Hello PeopleHelper,
I did exactly as you said and it did not work for me.
Did a fresh install of Myn's Rlse4 (Android v1.6) this morning using the "myn-WarmDonut-03-16-2010-320x480-160.zip" file.
Yes, everything looks a lot smaller.
Then open up the GVMyNumber apk to install it.
I then get a message "Application not installed -- GVMyNumber could not be installed on this phone"
Any other ideas?
I prefer this app over FlexDialer because after you are done with calls, the phone log shows the person's number you called instead of a call log full of my GoogleVoice phone number.
Thanks for any help!

[2.11.508]Get Whatsapp Calling Feature[WORLDWIDE][LOLLIPOP]

Hey Guys, you all must be knowing that Whatsapp is testing call feature as reported by a reddit user.
[UPDATE 1] I am aware of a similar thread but it does not address the problem of no contacts.
I followed the thread and discovered that the thread started was the only one to have that feature working properly. It is believed that whomever he calls, gets the same feature too but the opposite person needs to have Lollipop as well as the latest(2.11.508) apk too from the website of whatsapp. Other user reported that using terminator and root access, one can get the calling tab enabled but the issue is no one can see other contacts and my bet is that none of the contacts would have the latest apk as well as lollipop loaded up. So, I've got an idea through which we can enable the feature and help others get the feature too. Try to follow the given steps.
Whats Needed?
-Rooted Lollipop(Stock or Custom ROM would do)
-Latest apk from here
-Terminal from Playstore
-PM me to get my contact number and add me to your contacts(To test out the feature)
Click to collapse
Steps to follow(Make sure you follow them in order and correctly):
1) Make a Backup of your current chats if you want your chats to be maintained.
2)Uninstall your current version of Whatsapp (Necessary Step, do not try to update through intsalling the latest apk over current version)
3)Install the latest apk you downloaded.
4)Verify your number, restore your chats if you want and start whatsapp.
5)Close Whatsapp and remove it from recents too.
6)Start Terminal and type the following commands without double quotes:
"su" - At this point, it would ask for root permission. Allow it.
"am start -n com.whatsapp/com.whatsapp.HomeActivity" - This would start Whatsapp with 3 tabs namely Calls, Chats and Contacts.
7)Head on to contacts tab and message me from there. I would also add you to my contacts and see if I could call you or not and if it works, we all would get the feature permanently! :highfive:
[UPDATE 2]It has been confirmed that this method does not work for now but at least keep your contacts list updated with someone having lollipop and following the same procedure so that you may come to know when you are also eligible to test out the feature.
Credit goes to pradnesh07 and Tropiux from Reddit.
Unfortunately all this does is show you the tabs. No contacts will show up as you haven't got the feature enabled still. Someone with it needs to call you I believe

You have not read the instructions and stuff need properly. Have you?
You need lollipop update first. Then you need someone in your contacts who has enabled these tabs with terminal.

It's more visually pleasing? For people who really want a stock Google experience, it's one more thing to get you closer to that. With this and the Contacts app installable from APK Mirror, I'm officially using all the stock Marshmallow apps for everything but my Exchange email.

I find the LG dialler requires more finger presses. But I'm coming from the Song Xperia dialler.
New call: Go to dialler. Possibly not on the call tab so click that. Start to type name and some suggests come up. Click on the [v]. Select the person/number to call. And now the bit that annoys me, press the call button. If I click on number why not just call them, why show number and wait for me to press another button?
Call back: So I missed a call. Go to dialler, go to call logs, click on the call I missed. Show the contact details. WTF? So now I click the phone icon and call. Yes I know there is a little call icon but I'm used to clicking a phone number and it dials it. Not have to locate one tenth of the call log line to start a call.
Anyway, I'll get used to it but I do think I have to do more work for simple calls versus other diallers.
Wow. That is as clear and concise an answer as I could ask for. I wish my wife would answer simple questions like that, but I have to ask her twenty follow-up questions just to get an answer to the first one! So, I do see what you mean, and I have found it at least a little annoying myself. I guess I just accepted it as the way it is. Never really thought to look for a different dialer, but by golly it just might be worth a look now. Thanks for taking the time to give such a thorough answer. I hope you type much faster than I do, but I use Swype keyboard.
Does the original Dialer needs to be uninstalled first before installing Google-Dialer 3.00?
-> If yes, where to get that original Dialer found and uninstalled?
How about if Google-Dialer will be updated in future to 3.xx?
- Auto-Update or manual update needed?
- Link to webside to be able to always have the latest version installed?
Thx
It's crashing on me. Where can I get one that works?
Sent from my LG-H830 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Ive had no issues with this. Been using it for a week or so & has been flawless.
Also been working for me with no issues. Combined with the Google Contacts app and then Calendar, Clock, and Calculator, throw an icon pack into Nova, and I seriously feels like I'm stock. Very very happy.
as soon as i click on the icon i get "Unfortunately, Phone has stopped" message.
There are several versions out there. It would be helpful if ya'll would specify which version is or is not working. I am running the 2.05.07_rc4 with no issues. I haven't tried the 3.0 version yet.

Hiding caller number

Hi,
I have galaxy note 5 with android version 6.0.1.
When someone calls me, the phone will display both the name & number of the caller. I'd like to hide the phone number when somebody calls me and display the name only. Just like the iPhone.
I've searched a lot but I couldn't find a solution. I'll really appreciate your solution on this.

Perhaps you need a custom phone app other than the native one.

No I'm not talking about the service provider. In the iPhone if someone calls you you will see only the name of the caller that you have saved, while in Android will show both the name and phone number! And want to hide the phone number.

I think it must be phone app which determine whether to show only the name or both the name and phone number.
Anyone can advise which app may I use?
No is getting displayed on Call screen not in the dialer app, so I don't think so any app will be able to change it.
I boat the galaxy note 7 and also has the same limitations. Really disappointing.
I'll be really glad if someone can develop a specialized app and I'm willing to pay for this is favir.

Thanks. I haven't rooted yet. This may be a task for later. Was hoping someone might have had good experience with something from the play store.
Hiya is pretty good. It doesn't require root, has blocking capabilities (though not before it rings once, usually). I'm not sure how resource hungry it is.
I am also looking for some way to have Full or Half screen caller id pictures like I used to have on my Xperia XZ Premium!
