Hello! I have noticed that my device is changing color when tilting the phone in different angles. It gets a slight pinkish/reddish tint and I wonder if everyone has this or if my screen is bad and if I should get the phone replaced? I took a video of it but it doesn't really show as much in the video as it does IRL. It's much more noticeable IRL. I can't add the video here due to XDA rules.
So, is this normal or should I get it replaced?
My s10 plus doesnt do this hmmm, do you run it on wqhd? See if that makes a difference if not I reccomend taking it back

It happens no matter the settings I use. Tried vivid turned to cool, tried to turn down the red color etc etc. It's only noticeable on a white/grey background. Like in the Gmail. I guess I'll try to get it replaced.

Seems like it's a common issue. Not sure if it's actually normal tho? A friend of mine has almost none of this issue on his. I also took a picture of it showing quite a lot of the issue.

I can see green edges if I tilt the phone.

hi,
glad that i have received today my new touch diamond. so, a warm hello from my side and i am happy to switch over from the hermes forum to this one.
unfortunately i have to start with a question.
i thought that the diamond is black. i mean the color of the two foils (one which contains the screen, the other contains the buttons)
the lower foil looks blue-ish while the upper one looks green-ish.
i thought that maybe there are two color version out there and my dealer has sent me the wrong one, but i could not find any infos.
what does your diamond like like?
All black here. It may just be a reflection of something, I suppose you've looked at the device outdoors, still the same there?

Mine is two colors two. In shadow, it's all black. However in a well lit environment, the top side and the bottom side are two different shades of gray. It's not a big problem though.
thanks to all.
mine looks the same as in emblemex's foto. it is a pitty. true black would look really cool...
soon as the rom stayed for like 3 days onwards.. i'm having this kind of graphics, it makes the dark part like very low quality. but when i tend to screenshot it, it's okay in the computer. it's kinda greeny for video(dark/black part example when they're on dark places) for images/live wallpaper: it's low quality black. that's what i see in my screen, it's somehow like this:
example picture of the problem that i want to be fixednot to be exactly like this, this is just an example)

it's background should be black. i edited that picture using Photoshop. here is the link of the original photo: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yeRcLVjGt...DFvOD7l8Q/s1600/The-Vampire-Diaries-Logo.jpeg
It's not really look like that, but it makes the dark part of the image/wallpaper/video low graphic quality.

need to fix that thing.. when i change rom, it's good. the quality is really okay.
Actually, that's not low quality rendering. It's a problem with voodoo colour. To fix it, either use a kernel without voodoo colour or go here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002090

i see, i tend to set up my voodoo color's gamma with all 7.
and the RGB is just like how was set up. but tend to put them on the side,(max). the green one is at max, then red and blue aren't.
that i get good looking bright screen. but having that problem tho. i'll try that on the link you gave me. im currently charging my phone at 100% before i go cm9.
i followed the -50red -53green -44blue for the gamma hack. but this is my RGB:
now i tend to max the brightness than before on the almost min brightness. just try to fix that gamma failure. thanks!!
Hi everyone, i might have a problem with my OB. WHen i use camera some blue dots are appearing in the videos :| as well in the pictures, most often in low light environment. Anyone has the same issues? Sorry for my english btw.
Yea I have the same exact problem
Same here. U find solution?
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
Do you guys maybe have a screen problem? I mean, go to hidden menu and make a display test, or simply upload a black, a white, a green and maybe a red picture to your phone. If you also see the spots there, you got dead pixels, otherwise, maybe ur cam is dirty?
or maybe you see "camera noise"

No It's not dead pixels, just when taking pictures with the camera.
no, not dead pixels, its something with the camera. I've searched on the web and i found problems like this at many other phones. But just in low light environment, so i guess its hardware. I'm using zeus v6.39 but i dont think its software , or could i be wrong?
Here is an example

must be software because i get this with all lg based roms like zeus v7
Lol
Same here. But I think is software, I have the same problem with stock-based ROMs. Now I'm using CM7 and I don't have this issue.
Sorry for bad english
For some reason I can't make a reasonable looking picture when using the flash. Everything looks massively over exposed. Anyone else have this problem or is it the way I'm incorrectly using the flash?

This picture is in total dark.. I'm in temasek v8 rom with google Camera.
This is a room that has very little lighting.
In the same room but this one looks okay?
If you have a case on the phone, try taking the same picture with the case off.
Well, it's a bright flash, so some adjustment in the camera settings might help. I sometimes post-process egregious pictures from any source, but this seems acceptable (i.e., same setup, one shot is without flash and the other with flash).

Sort of: I meant that it might be that way for some shots, depending on the environment - so, perhaps checking the camera settings would be helpful.
I agree it shouldn't be overexposed in every flash shot, but in my example shown, do you feel that quick flash shot vs the non-flash shot looks as overexposed as yours?
- ooofest
Looks half decent to me....maybe slightly overexposed. If you could take a shot in total darkness with flash I would like to compare.

Out of pocket today, but sounds like a good experiment - I'll try to post back in a day or so.

Hello everyone! This morning, I removed the screen protector that came with my replacement display which I have been using for months now because it had too many scratches. After removing it, nothing was out of the blue until I noticed a large patch of uneven pixels in the shape of a rectangle. Can someone explain to me why this happens and the best way to solve it?
I've read some others had luck by just leaving it alone and letting it disappear on its own (usually within a week or so). My screen does not show any signs of screen burn-in and only shows image retention when watching 16:9 content for long periods of time (~usually 40 minutes at most)

This is an image of my phone with the said rectangle.
App: OLED Tools
The rectangle is mostly noticeable when viewing dark images or gray backgrounds. It is also noticeable when looking at dark greens.
Mine did the same thing after removing my glass screen protector (Dome). Took a good 3 weeks to a month to fade enough that I can just ever ever so slightly notice it. I was really bummed out because the phone is flawless, and I wanted to change to a new protector.
But yeah, it faded away. I just looked again and I can't see it anymore.
I don't understand how the screen protector has anything to do with that or why it wasn't visible before. Disconcerting...
It's really very odd. First phone that has ever done something like that.
All I can say is always use OEM parts with these devices. That includes the adhesive strips.
I've repaired Canon pro cams before and having the exact parts makes the difference.
I hope it works out for you.

It was replaced by an authorized Samsung Service Center I know the parts are legit.
It's been a few weeks now, and it's not as noticeable anymore!
