I forgot my phone pin .My phone is rooted and I want to hard reset my phone to get access. Can anyone help? OR Do I have to visit a care center. Is there a problem to flash or hard reset a rooted phone. Please help
Do you have a custom recovery? if so then this might help : " http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225695 "
My friend followed the above method but he had a Samsung and he forgot his pattern.I'm pretty sure that it might work for you too as well.Still not too sure though.I'll appreciate it if someone could confirm this.
Do this at your own risk.
Also, I don't think you need to consider service centers.
Good luck.

If you have a custom recovery you can flash my script http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43500062
However it might not work

If you forgot your pin used on lockscreen then you can also reset your password by signing in using the id used in PlayStore.(If you have signed in).
You can get that option near Emergency Calls after you enter wrong password more than 5-6 times.
Hey guys,
last weekend my Huawai P9 battery got empty over the night and on the next morning after charging i noticed that the phone ask me for a password. Before i just used my finger sensor to get back into it but as you know after a complete restart it ask for the set password.
The problem is that i do not remember it in any way and right now i am @ 1 hour waiting time between the attempts.
I really don't want to delete and reset the phone and loose all my data. So i hope someone can help me to solve that problem to get back access to my phone without loosing all data.
Phone data:
Name: Huawai P9
Model: EVA-L09
Latest official available Android update installed.
No Root, No Modification
What i have tried so far:
1. Google Android Manager
I logged into my google account and tried to reset the password but google tells me it cant replace the password because its already active. So looks like that reset way only works for pin and gesture phones but not for ones that already have an active password.
2. dr.Phone
I have downloaded dr.phone toolkit for android and tried the unlock locked screen option but it tells me that the phone is not supported.
3. ADB / Fastboot
I installed ADB and fastboot on my system and tried to connect the phone to delete the password.key file. ADB is running on my windows but it does not get any connection to the phone because the phone has no developer option enabled and i am not able to enable it because it cant access it.
Fastboot does detect my phone but yea i cant delete a file with it right?
Greetings,
Chris

-I could only imagine that you are able to unlock your bootloader with DC Phoenix (normal bootloader unlock would cause data loss and u would need DC Phoenix for the oem lock)
-Maybe u are able to flash TWRP recovery with DC Phoenix and backup your files from there but i dont know if TWRP works without an unlocked bootloader.
-All in all DC Phoenix is a risky tool.

Stop stop stop.....
Is your phone under warranty? If it is, dont touch the bootloader or flash anything. Send it back to Huawei to fix it.
If its no longer under warranty, is it requesting a password to unlock your phone or is it the password for decrypt storage? And last question, do you use the finger print scanner to unlock your phone?
only solution with bootloader locked is the wipe data/factory reset inside erecovery
Help.. I have a Huawei P10 (VTR-L09) with Android 8.0 and stock rom and recovery. I've lost the pin code and now it requires the pin after a phone reboot... So I can't access my phone anymore.
Every solution I find on the internet is either only for Samsung or not supported for this phone. Does anyone know how to unlock it now?
Please note that USB Debugging is not enabled in settings as I got the phone back from repair only a few weeks ago so only got fastboot commands. But I really do not want to factory restore it...
Thanks for any assistance!
You could contact your Phone company and tell them you've lost your Pin and PUK. They only need the Numbers from your Sim-card.
Thx for your message GAMaus, but I've lost the phone pin and not the SIM pin. Do you think they can really help me with that?

my friend was with the same situation, he goes to service center and they fix it but he lose all data.
or try with some gsm repair service maybe they can unlock without losing any data, but if your device is encrypted in my opinion is not possible without factory reset
It's not possible to unlock your phone without the correct PIN. Only chance to get into your phone is to wipe data in eRecovery. But this will remove all your user data except the data on SD.
You're also not able to get your data through TWRP because the /data partition is encrypted. To decrypt, you need your PIN.
But there's one question I have: The P10 has a great fingerprint reader and you're telling me, that you didn't assign your fingerprint for unlocking your phone?

Yeah the fingerprint doesn't work after startup because Huawei wants you to remember your pin... But fortunately I could try endless possibilities with the pincode (only sometimes I needed to wait a few hours). But in the end I got the pincode correct, so I can use my phone again
Thanks everyone!

Sorry to say, but ... why is she not able to remember the password she had set previously
If her Google account is not linked to screen locking, maybe it is possible to flash a new firmware. But that would not erase the unlock password. A factory reset would do, but also wiping her data.
Best to make your mother a good coffee or tea, and she might remember the password. Then enter every possible variant and combination.
