I had an issue with my note 8
I bought it from kuwait and i moved to Egypt
Every time i check for updates it tells me that i have the latest version despite iam still on android 8
Any help for this
The Pie Update for your device's region has probably not been released yet. Just be patient you should receive it soon.
It had reached my friend's note 8
This is the sad reality of Samsung's flagship phones. While Android Q is out for testing already on my Pixel 3XL, my Note 8 still sits on Oreo. I'm in US and no final Pie release yet.

Hey folks,
I have a US unlocked Galaxy Note 8 with the snapdragon CPU and the latest September 1st security patch but like so many others no super slow-MO or Armoji support. Yes, I know the Exynos versions of the phone have slightly better performance but my question is are the features just not ever coming to the Snapdragon models in the US or can we expect a separate update some time down the road? I've Google the topic several times and just haven't gotten a clear answer. I have the N95OU1 version on UES5CRH7 firmware version.

Hi guys. Havent seen this yet so I want to start it. I'm on the beta for pie. It's been really stable. Has anyone else been part of the testing and if so have you gotten the official update. Who will be pushing it to us as I dont use a normal carrier and my carrier does not sell note 9. I could use a different firmware but I'm enjoying not seeing all the carrier stuff

If you mean the Note 9 purchased from Samsung itself, no no updates have been pushed yet.
FYI, Samsung unlocked devices are usually the last ones to get updates. They claim they need to test it with every carrier.
I have gotten from Samsung a S8+, Note 8, S9+ and a Note 9... All experienced the same update delay.
There's a 428 page thread dedicated to the Pie beta and leaked builds.
When the official Pie for the unlocked model is released, you'll get it via OTA since you're on the official beta.
Hello, new to this website
My mom and dad who live in India both have snapdragon versions of the note 9. They are unlocked. For some reason, they still haven't got the one UI update. Does anyone know when they should expect it to come to their phones?

They've been pushing the launch date forward quite often. At this point, Samsung dev team are a joke tbh! Note 8!!! got it ahead of the 9! W T F, seriously?!
They should get it soon. As the Pie update release date is different for every region. I am still waiting for the Pie update for my Note 8 N950N.
S20 Fe owners are confused! How many updates will the 2022 model S20 Fe receive? Will Android 13 be the last update for the S20 Fe? Or will it get updates up to Android 16?
S20 Fe 2022 version came out of the box with Android 12 and One Ui 4.1.
Samsung will give a 4-year Android update for devices released in 2022! This model came out in 2022.
Will the S20 Fe be based on 2020 and Android 10 when it first came out?
firmware updates till October 2023 and then security updates until October 2024.
Upto Android 15

it will be up until Android 13, OS updates will probably stop in October as that will be 3 years from the launch. then another year of security updates only.
there is apparently a 2022 release of the S20 FE which might carry on getting updates past October and Android 13. it would be cool if it did as those could be flashed on older compatible models, I'm not sure whether that's how things will go though.

That's not how Samsung update policy works.
Every S20 FE model will definitely get 3 major updates.
It doesn't matter if it is initially launched with different Android version in different country in different year.
Now. S20 FE is One UI 5.1/ Android 13. Update 3/2023.
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering how often Galaxy S20 FE 5G owners here receive their security updates, because my own unit (an SM-G781U1 US unlocked model) hasn't seen one since August 2022, and searching for updates via Settings doesn't net me anything new.
Is there a cache that I should empty to make sure I get the security updates in a timely fashion, or is everybody else getting the same treatment here?
I must add that I live in France, I have a mobile contract with a French provider, and I bought this phone new from Rakuten three months ago.
According to DevCheck, the phone was manufactured on July 26, 2021. It came with Android 11 out of the box, and is now running Android 12 (One UI 4.1).
I don't expect a switch to Android 13 / One UI 5 until sometime next year, but I was under the impression that this model would get monthly security updates.
FWIW, my unit received the October Security Update today, so I suppose I should consider myself lucky. Apparently, Samsung is planning on upgrading us to One UI 5 (Android 13) sometime in December, according to GSM Arena.
Thanks for watching and take care!
As it were, the monthly update must have also brought some power management fixes, because it seems that battery life is improved on my unit. I keep the screen at 120 Hz and do a lot of Twittering and the like, and battery will get me through a solid day and a half now, instead of barely a day before the update.
I feel like its getting less often, I know eventually its supposed to go to quarterly, but that shouldnt have happened yet right?
I also didnt get september and went straight to october.
My guess is we'll maybe get one more before we get OneUI5 update which in my guess will be mid late january if last OS update is anything to go off of
This seemed to happened last year too where security updates slowed down when samsung was working on UI4
I've switched to a OnePlus 9 that's now running Android 13, but I wonder if regarding Samsung, their monthly update policy doesn't differ from one market to another.
My unit has a US (unlocked) ROM that precludes me from getting 5G connectivity, so maybe in the US the update schedule is different from, say, Europe for this model.
As for One UI 5, it should land on the S20 FE sometime in December.
