Powershare - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

I was wondering if anybody knew that if you used powershare while you were plugged in would it take the power from the battery (making it bad for the battery) or use the cable. This would be amazing for travel for anyone who has a Samsung smart watch.

[Q] On charge - but battery still depleting?

Hi guys,
I wanted to use my NexusS in the car. I have a 3rd party cigarette lighter to USB which I put a mini to micro adapter on.
The phone does two strange things...
Firstly the screen will not go off - it won't time out and if I switch it off it switches itself right back on again.
Secondly, even though it says it is charging the battery life depleted - and fast too. I watched it loose 10% of its charge in around 10 minutes.
Any ideas - is it just a rubbish USB adapter (worked fine with my other phones, most were HTC).
Anyone else seen this - and fixed it?
/R
try a different charger. If issue stops, you've got your answer
Try a name brand (not cheap or generic) cigarette lighter plug that has a USB female on the other end. You could use the supplied usb data cable that came with the phone for charging (that's just about all it's good for). It's a straight cable so it won't be pulling on the phone when it's charging and if you're using it (if the cable is long enough) I hate coiled cables with a passion! Yeah it might be six feet long if you stretch it out but it will always be pulling the phone if you use it while charging.
Some cables aren't wired inside like a standard usb cable is. Lg is notorious for that. Some of their older phones refused to charge if you tried to use a standard usb cable. For a good data cable, that isn't cheap quality, I suggest the sprint usb data cable that the corporate stores sell. It's built good and has a solid connection. A less expensive one is an ultra brand usb to micro usb cable that you can find at compusa. The six foot one is perfect. Yes you can find others online cheaper of course, but as a local solution, you should be able to find these stores. I don't know the quality of any that might be sold at best buy or your cell phone company. Generally from what i've seen, the cell phone stores that have lots of generic accessories, have dummy phones or all their phones in a glass display case are the places that will probably have low quality cables. Some people don't care about stuff like that and some run into problems with flashing or being detected correctly by the computer or the plugs wiggling in the sockets and possibly causing intermittent connections. See where I'm going with this? Imagine you are flashing and halfway through it or at a critical point of data transfer. The plug connections aren't good or solid because they wiggle. The contacts momentarily lose connection and the data stops... Stuff like this is a bricked phone waiting to happen imo. Both Samsung and HTC cables that were supplied with the phones with my past phones seemed like they weren't very good data cables. Some may have never had a problem with these but I have. Times when phones refused to flash or be detected by the host computer, then the problem went away when I used "better" quality cables.
Sorry for my usual rambling when I reply. I like to explain things in a way that a non tech person could begin to understand.
As for your original question, I have experienced this too. Almost always a reboot fixes that problem. A good tool to use for charge and discharge info is a widget called battery monitor widget. I turn the sampling rate faster to like five seconds and the battery capacity to what the battery is actually rated at. The widget always seems to guess the wrong capacity of the battery. You can watch and learn what your phone normally idles at and when something is really sucking a lot of power. On the flip side, it will show you when the battery is trickle or charging it hard. Mine idles at less than ten milliamps and I've seen it charge as much as upper nine hundred milliamps (970's+).
sorry, gotta stop blabbing!

Galaxy S4 wireless charger

Do you guys think it would work with our Note, it looks really nice and clean, I might have to get it.
Like the one seen here

Well considering that it'll need the battery cover then I would have to say no it wont work. Maybe you can email them and ask if they can make a battery cover for the Note 2.
I actually agree with the comments stated on the video.
It's just another cool gimmick that is just nice to have.
It doesn't charge faster and it is harder to use your phone.
I recently set up wireless charging on my wife's Galaxy S3 and she hates it for the following reasons:
charges slower than the USB cord
Difficult to use the phone while charging. With the USB cable, you can plug it in and continue to use the phone in your hands.
The Qi charging plate (a Nokia unit) has a LED light to indicate when the phone is being charge. That light is kinda distracting when you're trying to sleep at night.
Since the phone has to be charged face-up, the phone's LED notification light is another distraction at night.
Makes me rethink pursuing wireless charging for my Note2.

Ultra slow baterry charging via dock M36H

Hi, I would like to ask if there is anyone of you happen to be via a docking station charge the phone for a long time ? Yesterday I played Real Racing 3 which understandably draining battery as hell , so I put the phone in the dock station and keep playing RR3 but battery had been keep drained so I turned off the game and tried simply just looking over the net with the phone still embedded in the dock but situation has been the same percentages keep going down . So I turned off the display and let it charge if it stabilizes . I've found that one percent will be charged in 5 minutes which means over eight hours to full charge . I've tried to force kill Smart Connect (I've read that might be solution for this unusual draining) but nothing hapens...even about 2 times that process Smart Connect itself again launched and let notification popped. Otherwise I've tried to kill all applications to sure that no application is taking battery time. My charging set is :
1x Dock M36H
1x USB charger original manufacturer
1 MicroUSB cable length 2m (buying longer because of log distance of the socket)
My observation is that it could cause just that long cable because when I charge the phone with shorter on one side connected to the dock and on the other side to the PC and it worked flawlessly , and the phone has been around for 3h charged . Do you have some experience with it ? Or cable length does not affect the charge? Thank you for your insights
not only the length, the built quality is important too (armoring and connectors). the more tick it will be the better results you'll have (transfer speed and charging efficiency). for the dock I advise a cable of 1 meter only if it's cheap.
Made in ZR
To further test and see if your extension cable is faulty:
connect the extension cable directly to the phone itself, not the dock and see how fast it charges compare to the stock. You can also download the app called better battery status as it shows the actual charging current. by comparing using just stock cable vs added extension, it should give you a better idea.

Rechargeable Battery Case

Got this case on Amazon, never heard of the brand "BOVON" but figured it wouldn't hurt to try it out. This case hooks directly into your phone to deliver 4200 mah. Note that it is not "providing" power but rather charging your device. Real life use would dictate that you use your phone regularly until the battery is extremely low, then power this battery pack on. Once your phone is fully charged, you could keep it in the case or remove it from the battery pack. Note that charging the battery pack is not charging the phone. I tried plugging the phone into the battery pack as it is charging to see if both charge but it does not. You have to remove the phone from this case when you want to charge it separately. That could be a turn off to some, but if I'm going to be out all day and not have access to power, I would much rather stick it in this case than try to walk around with the phone plugged into a powerbank with a micro usb cable.
Video of it here so you can see how big it is and how the phone fits.

DeX Mode Power Delivery Limitations?

Hey all,
I recently got the "PNY 3-in-1 USB-C to HDMI Adapater" to finally try DeX and see what the fuss is all about (spoiler: it's AWESOME!).
However as I was having fun with the thing I bumped into a weird limitation; wireless keyboards/mice (the ones with nano receivers connected to the USB-A 3.0 port of the adaptor) would stop registering if they are barely 1 meter away from the phone/adapter, basically killing any attempts for me of having a living room DeX experience
Troubleshooting attempts:
- At first I presumed it's a low battery issue in the keyboards/mice. Replaced with fresh batteries, problem still persists.
- Then I assumed it was a limitation with range of the wireless receivers of the keyboard/mice (unlikely but I tested that nevertheless). Tried them on other devices and the problem wasn't there.
- I then turned to the adapter, but the specs of the adapter indicate its ability to handle high power deliveries. I unplugged the power input plugged into the USB-C part of the adapter (official Samsung fast charger btw) used to charge the phone while plugged in to avoid battery drain and reduced performance, assuming that it was maybe hogging all the power, but the problem is still there.
My testing shows what I believe is a limitation with the phone itself. I looked up the issue but found nothing. Is this a normal limitation for the Note 8 or is it a problem with the adapter? If it's the latter any personal recommendations for adapters that wouldn't have this issue?
Thanks in advance!!!
