[Q] Audio jack stopped working ! HELP !!

this happened a few hours ago and i've been runining around to find a solution.
i was going through my day enjoying my music on the SGT through my headphones. and suddenly, connected the headphones, and BAM sound is coming out to the left headphone ONLY. i know about pushing the jack all the way in.done that with 3 different headphones..nothing!!!i have overcome 4.1 on my SGT. tried installing the rom again, played around voodoo sound a bit..nothing.and here i am helpless and depressed!! if anyone please give me a hint on what to do !! and again..this happened out of no where all of a sudden!!
Sounds like a hardware issue. Maybe lost the physical connection for the contact to the right headphone, would have to re-solder if possible. Then again, this requires physically opening up your tab and checking everything going to the headphone jack. I advise against opening it if you don't know what you're doing.

damn. didnt want to hear that...but could this happen suddenly ? i mean the tab wasnt exposed to anything that would cause the jack to disconnect.no shocks no falls no water nothing !!
anything can go wrong at any time with electronics...sometimes it just happens. I've seen it working with computers for over 10 years. Something fails for no apparent reason and it can't be explained.
EDIT:
It's a long shot, but try taking out the battery for a few mins, then putting it back in. It's worked for weird glitches I've had on my phone...
Have you try another ear phone set?

Seicane 8.8in head unit screen frozen

Hi All,
Well I bit the bullet and bought a Seicane Android 6.0 head unit ( model no. DAFT 2732RV) which I custom installed into my Range Rover Sport. The unit 8s actually for a Toyo Rav 4. ..
Initially everything that I had installed worked, however after installing Automate Car Dash and rebooting the HU the touch screen froze and I can't do anything...:crying:
So I removed the HU checked all wires for shots etc and then searched for a hard reset button to no avail....
Can anyone give me some pointers on how to resolve this?
Thanks in advance.
Guy
did you ever figure this out?
yeah, continual pressing of the 'captive' home button allowed me to get into the settings, deselect Automate and then the system sorted itself out eventually as the OEM launcher seems very sensitive...

Strange problem with PX3 - ga8162

Hi all
I have recently purchased an Eonon branded PX3 model number GA8162 (Android 7.1 / 2GB ram)
Sometimes when turning the car off the stereo will not wake the next time you start the car. It is completely unresponsive including the reset button. There is nothing you can do to wake the stereo until about 12 hours (or so) passes and then it will boot up fine.
When it happens, all the rest button does is make the backlighted buttons light up, and they turn off as soon as the reset button is released. You can make this happen to the headunit when the ignition is off also.
It doesn't always do this, only occasionally and I don't know what it causing it. I have installed Malyusk's custom rom which I would hope solve it, and even installed a new MCU that the seller provided to me.. Neither have worked.
I do not think it is a problem with my car as my old Kit-Kat based headunit never had any problems.
Has any one had any experience of anything like this? Is it a hardware issue, or does anyone have a workaround? I dont really want to send it back due to the cost and how long it will take to get a replacement!
Many thanks
GA8162
Hello, I'm very new to this and while I don't currently have problems I'd be interested to know which MCU you updated to, the MTCE_WWW search doesn't really bring up any results. I have the same unit as yourself and would love to update it. Cheers
I install on www mcu for eonon Ga8161 7.1 a kld mcu file
They told me that www is 99.9% kld .. For now it works fine for me

What Android unit is this? Please help.

I've been running this head unit that I purchased from ebay for almost 3 months, close but like a week away. It's kinda ok, but still kind of junky for what I paid for it. I clipped the hinges off, so the screen would stay open all the time. I didn't want the motor burning out and the screen getting stuck inside. Every time you turn your vehicle off, it shuts off, when you turn your vehicle on, it comes on. Even if you turn your key back to ACC so it stays running, as soon as you turn the vehicle on, it restarts the HU. I even tried running the red wire straight to the battery, same thing, then I attached the red to the yellow and straight out to the battery. It stayed on when the vehicle was off, but when I put the key back it and started the vehicle it would still restart the HU. It's like restarting your phone every time you used a different app. That's what it feels like any way. I'd turn off the vehicle and pull the key and leave the HU running, and then run into the store real quick, come back out and turn on the vehicle and the HU will restart.
The other issue is that it lost GPS signal almost a week ago. I've tried google maps, the system app speedometer and several other GPS apps and it's gone. I double checked the wire from the HU to the antenna on the roof and everything looks fine. I even factory reset it twice to see if that would fix the GPS.
I have contacted the seller several times about the things that are wrong with it, and they just give me one sentence replies that aren't even answers and the return period is over. Overall, it does what it's supposed to. the baked in apps work good enough. The car dvr is limited, but it works. the audio player is fine, no issues at all with it. Bluetooth and phone connections are good. I just really need GPS, that's the main reason I got it. Wifi is horrible. It will not connect to a source outside of a 5 ft. range and that's with an external antenna.
Any help or suggestions or comments, anything would be appreciated. What make and model is this HU? Is there a way to root it or to install a custom rom? Any way to fix the GPS? Thank you my friends, I really appreciate it. I've been a member of this site for many years, and I know that when you guys want to help, you will.
I love when I can stump you guys. You all think you're like know it all geniuses, but now and then I throw something at you that leaves you dumbfounded. This is one of those times. I win.

That kind of attitude isn't going to make anyone want to help you is it.
You haven't provided enough information about your unit for anyone to be able to even attempt to help you, more information is required, such as is it px3 or 5, is it mtcb or d/e. Best thing to do is take a screenshot of your about page on your device, the one that tells you the build number etc...
For your boot issue, if it's wired correctly check factory settings (pass may be 126, if not you'll have to search), somewhere in there is an option for auto power off.
GPS, try another antenna? Is the antenna inside or outside, does the GPS test app find any satellites? Is GPS enabled etc?
More info will help, the attitude won't, these forums also have a wealth of information, searching and reading thoroughly will often find you what you need. Yeah reading a 100 page thread is soul destroying but sometimes it has to be done to find what your looking for

Replacement Advice Needed

Hello. I have an SWM 8802 that has audio which went kablooey. So I need some advice on a replacement head if necessary.
[Background] I came back from picking up my car from inspection, stopped at a store, let a song finish, and the audio just went dead while the rest of the head remained on. Over a few weeks I reset the hardware connectors to the back of the unit, even rewired the blue wire from my 07 Civic EX with premium sound (uses a stock factory amp by Clarion) and antenna wire. When I set it up initially about a year ago I had to tap in to a very small gauge wire from the harness to get audio. Now I still held on to my factory radio and connected that to only the stock harnesses (and without the blue antenna wire that led to my SWM 8802), and I was able to get audio. [/Background]
I ordered a replacement wire but am looking at listings on Ebay for cheap touchscreen units. I noticed that those under $40 seem to have a similar look and feel to Android, but do not list "Android" in their listings, yet others list Windows CE (which I hear is outdated). Looking closely at some of them and doing Google-fu I also notice some no-name touchscreens like the 7651D also seem a bit old. So while some of these units have an Android look and feel, do they really run Android at all? I purchased my SWM 8802 to have the ability to download a few apps and experiment with it, but I could never get the GPS and mirror link working constantly. I use my car to only drive locally during the week, but may take it out further on the weekend when going to thrift stores and such. I already have a backup camera and would like to use it for that, the Radio, and for Bluetooth for answering calls. It would be nice to have GPS tid to the unit instead of having to look at both the head unit screen AND my phone. Everything else wouldn't be used as much.
So my question is this: Based on my needs, is it worth paying extra for a head unit that fully features Android, or could I get away with a cheaper unit that doesn't advertise as having it?
