Good Lock AOD on while charging? - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I remember on my note 9 with good lock there was a way to enable AOD to turn itself on only when charging. I can't seem to find it now. Any ideas?
Thanks

You can now do this in Bixby Routines. Go to "my routines" then click the plus to create a new one. Set IF to "charging status: charging" and THEN to "Always on display: Show always".
You can also name the routine and select if you want a notification when its active.
Now when your device is charging the AOD will stay on, the setting will revert back to its original state when the routine stops (so when you stop charging).
You can automate a lot of nice things with Bixby routines, like having your phone unlocked when you're home (works a lot more reliably than Google smart lock). Or to enable Do Not Disturb when you're sleeping (auto detected)

[Q] How to keep scrren on when plugged in?

As we all know, for some bizarre reason Samsung have removed the "Keep screen on while charging" option, and I have been using an app called AnyScreenTimeout to provide this functionality.
However, whenever I switch off my phone and switch it back on again, the "Stay on while plugged in" option in AnyScreenTimeout has become unticked.
I have tried a few different apps which also claim to keep the screen on while plugged in (e.g. Screen Off Timeout), but none of them survive a switch off and on again.
Any ideas? This really bugs me - when I am on mains power, I don't want my screen to turn off.
You could use Tasker (Paid) or Llama (free) and create a profile to disable the screen timeout while charging.
When using Llama just remember to create another profile to enable the timeout again, when diconnected.
Thanks!
I'm actually already using PhoneWeaver as a profile manager and it is able to do what I want. Many thanks for suggesting looking at a profile manager though - I was trying to fix this in totally the wrong way.
also you can use default clock apps.which is already in your G-note.go to desk clock.

[Q] Keep screen ON when docked or charging

I would prefer that my screen remain ON when I have my MotoX plugged in while driving. I use the Car Home Ultra app and the setting to keep screen on doesn't seem to work. I can't figure out which phone setting is cause the screen to turn off no matter what. Any ideas?
You can set the screen to stay on while charging in Developer options. It is a hidden menu in settings. To access it go to about phone and scroll down to the build number and click it repeatedly until you see a message you're now a developer. Then back out and Developer options should now be above about phone. Choose the stay awake option to keep the phone from sleeping while charging. Please note that the screen will stay awake while charging at home as well.

There is an added Dim Screen in Qualcomm settings that works in conjunction with the Dev option, which is also duplicated in QS.

The Option Given by User " Dark9781" is the Best.....
However, 2 more Options Here:
Download the Official Motorola App. SMART ACTIONS from Google Play. Or something Similar...
In the Car Dock Option / Charging Option you can set the Display Screen 'Off' to NEVER.
[ The Motorola Droid RAZR has an app developed by Motorola called Smartactions, which allows for automated tasks based on time, battery charge, and other phone sensors.]
Smart Actions is the same as 'Assist' Which is Provided by MotoX
2) In case You just Need A Screen On feature / Clock On / Photos/ While Charging.....
MOTO X Has a feature Called 'daydream'
Go to Settings > Display > Daydream...
When to Day Dream.... U can Set the Clock to stay on While Charging / Docked
just a warning from personal experience, AMOLED screens are fairly vulnerable to burn-in, letting the screen stay on for extended periods of time will cause it. had my gnex set up this way and it permanently has the tunein radio logo burned in, from leaving the screen on while driving.

The only problem with using Smart Actions is that it is not compatible with newer devices such as the X. It may be possible to sideload it, but it may not work properly.
Edit: Tasker may be an alternative to Smart Actions, but it is not free.

Is there a way to make Always On stay on when charging in the dark?

Hi
I like to charge my phone beside my bed, DND + AOD
Unfortunately, It says in always on mode that to reduce power consumption it wont stay on when those DND is on in the dark
Is there some way to change that?
Is it Rom specific (I'm using eu.xiaomi)?
Thanks
Tom
You can use the Screensaver mode in the Google clock app.
Ta mate
You can also activate 'Stay awake (Screen will never sleep while charging)' in 'Developer options'.
Cheers

Phone won't unlock when connecting to Bluetooth in car

I've set up tasker to launch the app "flitsmeiser" and lieve my screen on all the time when I'm connected to my car Bluetooth.
I don't know why, but tasker won't unlock my phone when the connection is made
What I'm doing wrong?
Try to disable or remove the 'Auto dismiss keyguard'. I think you don't need this command because your screen won't lock anyway because you set the display timeout to almost 24 hours.
I assume you have an exit task to go back to the normal display timeout when you disconnect your bluetooth.
That's not what I want

Thank you for your answer, but that's not the case. My phone is locked at this time, and I want to unlock it and run this task
If I understand you correctly, you want Tasker to automatically unlock your phone and keep it unlocked as long as you are connected to the car bluetooth.
If that is the case, I recommend an Xposed module, Lockscreen Disabler 2. But you have to be rooted and with EdXposed framework to install this. Also only works up to Android 9, based on my experience with it. Tasker will turn on or off this Lockscreen Disabler via Tasker plugin.
Hope this helps.

Always On Display bug?

Hey guys,
So I am using GoodLock Routines and I have this routine that sets AOD to 'always show' mode as long as I am charging my phone and I have it set to 'tap to show' while I am not charging the phone. This used to work perfectly before the OneUI 2.5 update. Now when I plug the phone to charge it and the screen is off and locked the AOD shows up for 1 second but then disappears. Can anyone else try this to confirm if it's an issue with the update or it's just me? I also tried to sideload Bixby Routines but it does exactly the same there as well.
If anyone knows a way to show my lockscreen for 1 second when I plug in my phone to charge that could also be a fix as the bug only happens when I plug my phone to charge with the screen off. If I plug it with the screen on and then lock it the AOD remains on as it should.
PS: I am not rooted and won't root so need a non-root method for the screen wake-up part. I tried Tasker with SecureSettings but it's a hit or miss, 1 time it works, then it doesn't.
