Chrome eating battery like breakfast. Any tips? - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

As much as I love chrome with all it's features, it's a big battery hog for me.
Does anyone have a browser to recommend that doesn't suck a lot of juice?
One feature I 100% need is to be able to import my current favorites passwords etc and sync them from my pc to my Mi8.
Edge and Firefox can do that, but I haven't used them so I don't know how much battery they drain.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Cyrket link Has anyone got the .apk for this? As i can't seem to find it on Market at the moment, It's a really good widget
Sorry, can't access it in my market either. Too bad, it looks kinda nice.
It was available yesterday, weird. This app has one big drawback. It prevents your phone from sleeping causing the battery to drain faster.
It's an awesome widget, but it drains battery and way too much CPU resources. It makes the G1 much slower. Bummer...
Hi,
I am the developer of this widget,
I decided to stop publishing for a few hours to fix a lot of problems. I had several problems with the widget, especially to manage the time with AM / PM.
Currently, most bugs are corrected, the widget is usable.
Yes, it uses lots of battery , as it is refreshed every second. I'm trying to see to define the delay of updates in the control panel.
If you find bugs, do not hesitate to send me an email.
Thanks for your support !
(Sorry for my english)
Mind if you send me the latest apk, If you would like me to do some testing for you...
EDIT Sorry found it in marketplace, will reinstall

Battery Draining Widgets and Alternatives

After having some pretty horrible battery life I started searching around on some of the widgets I was using--it looks like some of them barely touch your battery while others drain it. I was curious what other users have seen and if they found any decent alternatives.
The ESPN Scorecenter widget killed my battery. Haven't spent enough time with Google Scoreboard or Sports Tap, but they seem to be better and allow you to set how frequently they update. The ESPN app doesn't, I think it's pretty close to a constant pull.
Anyone see much difference with using a Weather Channel widget vs. not? Any good alternatives?

Battery life issue

In my Battery usage media server takes very much battery?
What is media server? And why it take alot battery?
Forget about media server. On stock roms there are many bloatware, go to apps and disabilitate everything what you don't like. Keep under control only the life of the battery and not what is in the list.

Best browser for battery life?

Which browser uses less battery? Samsung's internet browser or Google Chrome?
I think is the stock browser (Samsung browser for Samsung phone and chrome browser for phone made with it).
I think a stock's apps are always better than other for performance and battery life.
The company made phone optimisation with stocks apps not for all applications on play store!
Both of these use a lot of battery. Background stuff.
At least Samsung's browser gives you utility e.g. ad blockers.
Try 'Brave' browser, see if you like it.
I have been using Kiwi for a bit less than a month. The fact that it's Chromium based and that it has night mode and allows me to use the bottom search bar makes it simply perfect for me. BUT, there are drawbacks, you don't have the Google News feature, the animations are kinda sluggish and other small things.

False ! Stock browser especially when it's chrome can't be battery optimized In settings, use native apps it's battery killer especially chrome

Question Why Facebook application drain battery?

I have a bad experience with this application from all devices that i used in all my life. Facebook is like a devil for the battery juice. It makes things easy when navigate but it drains my battery more than any other application and more than hardwares themself (wifi, 4G, bluetooth, screen...) Now i fond my self using the Facebook by google chrome it's not the same experience of the application but my battery is happy now
No social media, shopping, banking or charge card apps should ever be installed. Browser login only.
fb, lol I have another name for it. Heavily censored, data miner and epic purveyors of biased disinformation. An untrusted site to put it mildly.
you can check the news, some exemployer reveled that, the fb and instagram apps eat the battery on porpuse

Interesting. Don't know about being illegal but no one needs to be beta testing unknowingly
Trashware and malware. Even with browser login fb wastes your time and battery.
Moving to FB lite can help you to save few %, disable all notification and enable battery optimisation for the app ... nothing more can be done unfortunately.

If facebook app a devil the Facebook lite is the son of this fuuuucker devil
I use Frost from F-Droid -- still evil and not being updated in a long time, but better than alternatives...
