I have a Nexus xt1103, but im experience shutdowns when i try to receive the call of telegram and active it. But it shutdown. The same happen to me with the camera on ROMs like lineage and crdroid (both Oreo). So I want to know what could be? If you experience something like this.
Shutdowns are a sign that you need a new battery.
If you are reasonably dexterous, you can replace it yourself.

It's normal that after the shutdown I can turn it on and use normal. For example it shutdown at 30%. After that I turn on the phone and the phone keep having 30% and I can use it while it discharge completely?

Yes, that is the way it is on the Nexus 6. A weak battery can run fine most of the time, but when something demands a lot of power, the voltage drops, and the phone turns off.

@runekock is right. It's your battery which can't deliver the current at spike loads.
Someone should make a thread named 'Sudden shutdown = dead battery' and pin it at the top of every category as every other day someone asks the same.

Hello Guys, I'm using GingerDX from months and lately I started getting a strange problem- I go to bed with fully charged phone and in the morning the phone is switched off and when I turn it on it has only 1% battery left. This happened only 3 times-always through the night-one of the times I was even on airplane mode. Beside this- the battery acts pretty normal- 2 to 3 days.I took every popular battery saving measure, by the way and the internet traffic is always off when I don't need it.What this could be?
It happen on all roms, that battery goes down very fast. Like 2% in minute. If you see that, just reboot your phone and problem is solved + stop running services!

Thanks, but I can't see that, since it happens while I'm sleeping.I also have very few services running almost all of the time. And why isn't this happening all the time- I'm using the phone in the same conditions and settings all the time?
if its at 1% and the phone continue work then you might need calibration, but if you are telling that its shut down then might be hardware problem( of your battery)...
but you dont loose anything to go back at stock and see if the problem resist....

It shuts down, because the battery got empty at some moment-I guess this is normal. Then it stays switched off till I awake and notice it,let's say few hours ,and then when I am switching it on- I guess it has enough power just to turn it self on, after which I'm putting in on the charger. And yes- battery is calibrated last time I changed the Rom.
When i run my phone empty (1%) and it turns itself off, when i put in on the charger it's very difficult to turn it on!
its very annoying! is there a trick to make the phone turn off with 2 or 3% battery left? that way you will be able to turn on the phone the minute you charge it.

well it's not a good thing. When my battery runs out, and i put in on my car charger, it won't turn on at all, which means no acces to the phone for an hour. If it could just shut down automatically on 3% it could turn on and charge normal. so it's not a good thing for everyone tbh

Yeah well, you know this, but yet you let your phone drain till that level, you're just asking for it. It's also bad for the battery to let it drain till that point. You can let it drain till that level but not too often.
For you it might not be a good thing, but such a system is actually better for the phone.

You are not really helping are you....
this happens to me daily, because the phone won't last an entire day. not if you use it as much as i do. And i use greenify, stamina and turn off wifi etc. so battery saving isn't the solution.
I was just asking if it is possible to make it turn of sooner (which would be better for the battery right?) then at 1%

Why don't you turn it off the time you want

^^lol seems so simple doesnt it....anyway maybe a tasker tool can shut your XZ off.
Well it is supposed to be not even good to let the battery drain fully. It says to almost empty by like 5% u should charge it. Os Ur own fault u let it drain until it is dead and then complain it won't turn on. Hmm of it is empty it makes sense doesn't it?

I'll see if tasker can do it for me (i use AutomateIt right now, maybe it has a function)
and unlike many here, when i'm at work i don't constantly check my phone to see if the battery is allmost dead. And i don't have the luxury to always charge. And syncing email/whatsapp etc drains the battery pretty quickly in standby mode

Not one to stir an argument, however you're saying you don't constantly check your phone whilst at work. Why do you need it to constantly sync stuff? The way I see it (And forgive me if I'm getting ahead of myself) if you aren't checking your phone, why do you need it to sync so much? The easy answer is to not have it sync as often.
Whilst in principal I understand your question, I just don't understand why you have it syncing so often if you aren't checking it that often? My XZ is checked regularly and I have atleast 30% battery 15-16 hours after unplugging from overnight charge. I sync every 6 hours on weather, 30 minutes on Twitter, manual for Facebook, Gmail every 15 minutes I think, WiFi is off when not in range and I do internet surfing/calls/texts/whatsapp etc at will.
Whilst I'm not a prolific battery user, I certainly use the phone more than average (based on people's own phone usage claims).
If you aren't checking your phone (which you would be seeing the battery anyway) why not change to manual syncing as it'll only connect when you actually have chance to check the phone....
As for the answer to your conundrum, I agree it would be better to have it shut down sooner I.e before its critical; you're right about how long a drained battery seems to take to have enough juice to turn it on.
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
Yeah Ur phone should easily last a whole day if u don't check all the time and I agree u don't need to have everything syncing constantly. Like every hour maybe for Ur emails? I don't know I run 5 emails and they sync every hour. Besides Gmail that does it automatically. And I have kik and whatsapps and still get easily a day out of it. If u don't check Ur phone often then I do not know how Ur battery can even drain that fast and why Ur stuff has to sync constantly. I am puzzled.

I don't know how to explain this... Hope you'll understand me. So my phone was full charged so i put out the charger and i go to school. After 6 hours i came back and my battery was at 50%. I was surprised but when i tried to call someone my phone died. So when i starded battery was at 3%. Same thing today, i put out my phone from charger after 2 hours i tried to do 2 photos and *bam* died - 3% battery.
There is a screenshot so you can see what i mean. Can you tell me what is the problem? Hope you understand me
wow, that's a HUGE drain. I recommend installing a wakelock detector to see what is causing that huge drain on your phone
This is how you would go about using the app to find the issue.
1) Install the app from google play "Wakelock Detector-Save Battery"
2) Open it
3) Once it opens, reboot your phone
4) Once it reboots, leave it for 5 mins
5) Unlock your phone and open the wakelock detector
6) Check the bar at the top to see if your phone was asleep and how long it was asleep for (should be around 4 mins)
If it is 4 mins or above, then your phone should not be having battery drain, ensure you are swiping away apps after use.
If your phone was awake the whole time, then you will be able to see what is causing this and you should uninstall this app
Also, you should enable the power saving option to maximise battery life.
Make sure you charge the phone while its turned off, apps can interfere with the charging process while the phone is one, this could also be the cause of your drain, so turn off and then charge.

I'm just sayn' that i don't think that is a problem with some drain. I think than my phone don't know exactly how much battery have. Sometimes has 3% and after one second of chargin' has 47%. I just reset phone to factory settings and, same problem ):. I'll post there. Hope that someone can help me

Ok, there is no specific app that is causing that your problem. So do you charge while your mobile is on, or off?
Also, is your phone rooted? If it is, try re-calibrating your battery.
I've installed new battery with much higher capacity.
But system ignores battery voltage and shows remaining capacity guessing it from current drained from the battery.
So I get 0% while voltage is 4.0 (about 77% of capacity) and system goes to sleep mode.
Is it possible to fix this with xposed?
Is the issue in BatteryManager or should I modify the kernel?
It's really nice to have a big battery, to use the device as notepad whole day...
Devs, please help me!!
Maybe this is a calibration issue. So, try this way...install this module DisableCriticalBatteryShutdown, obviously through xposed, and activate+reboot, then turn off your phone, then charge the battery to 100% (so full charge), then when fully charged pull off the battery, and wait for at least 5 minutes...that way you can be assured the tab has no more power...after 5 minutes, put the battery back, and start the tab. This may solve your issues.

Thank you for reply.
But DisableCriticalBatteryShutdown is not working on my 4.4.2
It's enabled in xposed and after reboot.
Screen dims after 5% and device powers off after 1%.
Turning it off then on helps, but this is really annoying and power consuming method.
What should I change in the system to disable screen dimming and power off?
The perfect solution would be to change system capacity value.

This was the first I did.
My phone turns off at 5% every time!! The phone is working great. It doesn't turn off randomly but everyday at 5% it turns off and tells me to plug in the charger. After plugging in the charger the phone keeps on showing the battery logo and it turns on after pressing power button a couple of times while the charger is plugged in. What could be the problem? Or is it normal? I remember when i was on stock, the phone used to turn off at 2%. Im using Chroma Rom.

Seems normal to me. The battery condition becomes slowly worse.
When possible don't discharge below 20-30%.
haven't seen one of these in a while. people used to talk about battery calibration, but i'm not sure if it is a real thing.
check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/dying-17-battery-t3062050
The battery on this phone is being let to go very low in the normal 100 - 0 range as it is. As it ages the low end will drop quicker and quicker. The qhd oled they used on this phone is really not nice for the battery. You can buy a new one on aliexpress.
Fixed!
