I wonder does it support hdmi output as i have seen secondary display setrings under development section.
Does Moto One Power support HDMI over USB?
Before buying any USB C to HDMI adapter, I would like to know if anyone has tested this feature?
If yes, what were the results?

I have two TVs, both with HDMI 1.4. I have read conflicting reports of power over HDMI with HDMI 1.4 being possible. Can anyone confirm this works, because I can't get it to?

my Vizio M551D which as 1.4a ports does not support power over hdmi.
As far as I know the only way to support power over HDMI is via like MHL, which the chromecast doesn't support.
I'm pretty sure any claim that said they were able to just power it via the hdmi port was BS
The Hdmi port does supply 50ma at 5vdc over pin 18. But from what I have seen on the chromecast pin 18 is not used or dead a small jumper wire going from this pin to a positive supply trace could in fact power the chromecast over hdmi as long as more then 50ma could be used. So this does not seem to be an option.
HDMI vs. MHL Power supply
Yes, HDMI has inherited some power supply requirements from DDC. It's 0,250W (5V * 50mA). This is unfortunately going in the wrong direction: From e.g. stick (if pin 18 is connected anyway, it's apparently not...) through HDMI to TV. This energy should be provided to power the internal EPROM of the TV. This intended for peripherals to read info about the HDMI-sink of the TV even when the TV is deeply sleeping. The spec even allows this 50mA to be reduced to 1mA when a session is initialized. Hence this is unuseable.
MHL has revered the power supply direction. This is now from TV to the Phone. This is inteded to power the phone. Unfotunately most TV sets at home don't have any or a proper MHL implementation available.
Hence a mass produced stick can't rely on that, and an additional USB power cable is mandatory.
Does this clarify the HDMI MHL power confusion a little?

Best topicson XDA! Fortunately with USB C HDMI will be outdated and replaced. Surprisingly I have not seen any TVs with USB C at this point.
Anyone has experience output video from moto x to monitor/tv?
moto x does NOT support MHL but Miracast, but I really don't wanna carry a Miracast Dongle when I go to a hotel for example.
U guys tried anything?
1) MHL adapter?
2) micro USB to HDMI adapter?
3) Using a software / app ?
3) If "Miracast" is the only choice, which 1 woks the best?
Thanks!
Chris
I want to connect a 27 inch monitor or projector.
From the official support says (ticket #770598, from Sky) that phone 3T supports out video via HDMI
I understand that you wanted to know if OnePlus 3T supporte USB to HDMI. I can provide you with the information that you needed.
I would like to inform you that OnePlus 3T supports HDMI as long as it is connected to the OTG cable/ converter.

Phone have usb type c version 2.
My questions:
1. This phone is really support hdmi alt mode? I don't see the image HDMI (or DisplayPort or Thunderbolt) alternat mode on the box.
2. If (1) is true. Any cable good for me? Ex. usb type c multiport adapter from apple store or necessarily with OTG?
3. How big is the latency video of through miracast (ex. ezcast)? If connect mouse and watch on cursor movement.
I tried this yesterday with a USB C to Hdmi adapter I got off Amazon and I had no luck connecting to the monitor.

Thans for the reply
I think they sold me a dud
Phone not supports MHL and other alt. mode
II wonder if a driver could be put into a ROM to support it via USB OTG since it doesn't support MHL?
I have an old external sound card, a Creative Xmod, that works perfectly with my roommates USB C, OTG adaptor.

I think because it is not implemented in hardware in the phone
If I'm correct Display Port alternate output requires USB Type-C 3.1 since the phone supports only 2.0 it shouldn't work. However not many phones utilise this feature even Google Pixel doesn't use this mode
Video out works fine on the 3T but only with Displaylink adapters. (So far anyway)
I have one and can confirm it definitely works either via HDMI or HDMI to DVI (I've tried both)
I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N40RQV4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but any displaylink adapter or dock will work. (Make sure it very specifically says dispaylink, check the displaylink website if you aren't sure)
The only note is that displaylink says the Ethernet ports on the docks do not work with android.
(I suspect they might work on devices that support a regular Ethernet adapter though, I haven't been able to get a normal Ethernet adapter working on my oneplus 3t though for what that's worth.)
you will also need the displaylink app from the playstore though it does not have to be running.
if any of you have experience using an external Audio DAC with USB Audioplayer pro the process is very similar.
Once you plug the monitor in, a pop up will ask if you want to let the displaylink app control the adapter and if you hit "ok" it does the rest automatically.
Does the phone charge while connected to the DisplayLink adapter?
Just try with Chromecast or anything else with Mirascreen option
Does it work with Anker Premium USB-C Mini-Dock
Hi there everybody:
Have anyone tried to connect a dock like the Anker Premium USB-C Mini-Dock, Does OP3T work for charge and to view the USB ports of the dock? May be HDMI and Ethernet doesn't work but for me the matter is the chargue and the USB ports to connect an external DAC, a microsd and a pendrive. Regards.
Does anyone know if connecting OP3 via USB-C to HDMI cable works? I would like to connect to my full HD screen, but am not sure about the result. With Taskbar app it can become fully fledged desktop with windowed apps. DPI would have to be adjusted accordingly for the huge screen, but the cable is the first step.
The OP3 doesn't support Video-out through its USB C port, so it won't work.

Any news about this option ??
I see some post about DislayLink app and compatible USB-C devices ...
You're necroposting. Those are different things, video out through usb-C is a hardware capability. No OP phone has that as of yet. There might be some alternatives, but I doubt they are as straightforward to use.
Does this phone have HDMI out (perhaps mhl or usb c variant)?
I just did a quick test with my USB-C to HDMI adapter and it did not detect it. I will further investigate when I have time later.
Thanks.
Should be a shocking oversight of it didn't have hdmi.
I guess it would conflict with the dual screens (which to output?).
