Same problem:
My xperia z3+ is losing signal randomly,
it doesnt even show 0 signal bar,
it show blank signal.
No root,
stock rom updated from official xperia tool
(not a rom problem for sure).
Phone opened and signal cable duck taped so it won't move (i thought it was moving).
Signal just drop randomly.
Outdoors or inside some building, it doesn't matter.

Hi all,
TL;DR: Does anyone have issues with lots of reception loss in areas with less-than-stellar signal on the I9305 (LTE or 3G or GSM)?
Tomorrow, I want to take my S3 to Vodacom (my carrier in South Africa) so that they will hopefully check the thing and fix / replace it.
The problem I'm having is that my signal drops ( (/) "No Access" sign at the top where the signal strength should be) whenever I'm in a low signal area while others have continuous signal (my partner with his I9300 will still be able to make calls).
I've tested with and without LTE on (LTE is spotty everywhere), on 3G (set it to WCDMA Preferred in one of the secret menu's), or GSM/2G (both via the secret menu and the normal one). There are places where I can put my hand over the back of the phone and within 5 seconds, the signal will disappear completely, until I take my hand away.
For reference, I use No Signal Alert to notify me, mostly because when I got my phone, the bad LTE reception caused frequent radio hangs, which would leave my phone without signal until I checked (hours) later, which forced me to switch to "WCDMA Preferred".
Cheers,
LV
Hello,
Some days ago my phone just disconnected from carrier network and now I don't have signal at all. I tried some ftf but with the same results.
The SIM card reader it's ok because I can read my SIM information with the app SIM Info and with the app Network Signal Info I noticed I receive my carrier signal but it shows NETWORK BLOCKED.
I don't know how, but it seems that my phone get locked. This is what I see in SIM Lock:
[] Network 0
[] Network subnet 0
[] Service Provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
Is my phone locked? How can I unlock it???
Thank you for your help!!

Hi,
Yes, I tried other SIMs in my phone and they don't work. Also, I tried my SIM in another phone and works like a charm.
Thanks!

Hmm...
Well sim lock is possible if developer screws ROM but that's not something that usually happens...
You used AOSP ROM maybe or something suspicious?
Really odd....
And yeah...you had sim locked (branded device) or sim unlocked device?

I haven't use any ROM, just the original FTFs...I havenĀ“t unlock my boot-loader yet.
I have a "unlocked" phone, and it was working fine until some days ago, during a call my phone lost signal.
Is possible to unlocked my phone again?
Thanks!
If SIM info looks like this:
[] Network 0
[] Network subnet 0
[] Service Provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
My phone should not be locked, right?
Opened a brand new Sony phone, put in Sim Card. After opening Android logo, an MTS logo with blue font and white background pops up. Then it simply states "SIM service provider unlock PIN.
I called MTS in Canada, they have no record of the IMEI number. I called Sony, they told me to **** off 'cus I'm out of warranty. All I want to know is who my bloody provider is, so I can get this thing unlocked. I called T-mobile UK, Verizon, T-mobile US, numerous others and they told me they cannot explicitly state if the phone was ever used with their service.
I am extremely confused, I wanted to use an unlocking site, but alas. I entered *#*#7378423#*#*, went to Service info and then Sim lock. It was as follows:
[] Network 0
[] Network subset 0
[x] Service Provider 5
[] Corporate 0
[] Sim 0
I am wondering if anyone can give me any idea what is going on? My IMEI # has no problems, it is: 35518806-270203-4.
I am not sure how to proceed and get this working. I entered a T-mobile US sim card. Please Help.
Due to 5 remaining attempt [x]= 0 my phone sim network is hardlock how can I unlock it with software or any other solution?
I checked the simlock status of my Xperia X Performance and Network Subset is locked. Is there a way to unlock it? My phone is from Japan.

Network [0] - this means the phone is network unlocked.
Network Subset [5] - this is a Carrier Restriction that only allows certain SIM cards.
In Japan, CDMA are dominant networks. I think since this is a GSM network, they set a Network Subset lock to restrict exporting.
You will need to purchase an unlock code from an unlocking service.
