Hope so. I would love to see EMUI 9.1 on my Mate 10 Pro.
i just want third part app support on my AOD as 9.1 and 9.0 are very similar i hope we get it.
No Mate 10 Pro apparently.
A strange one considering it shares the internals with the p20 pro.

Read the bottom note
It's not a final list. More devices will/should be added.
They added the mate 10/pro to the list on Huawei Central
https://www.gizchina.com/2019/04/20...or-devices-that-will-get-the-emui-9-1-update/
emui 9.1
today i got ota
but it isnt 9.1
infact it is april security patch:fingers-crossed:
saw web article about emui 9.1 coming to mate 10
got the security update too, glad we are getting updates even if it isn't emui 9.1
we'll get it around september considering how Huawei updates older models .lol

Hi, Oreo 8.1 final beta is available for Pixel 2 users and will enable the Pixel's NPU for third party apps. Just wondering if anyone knows what 8.1 might do for the Mate 10? Google Lens?
I don't know what it will do to the Mate 10, but I have seem some signs of internal builds of what looks like might be EMUI 8.1
I haven't released anything yet, though. Take it with a grain of salt for now
Update on the above: EMUI 8.0.1 exists but it's still Android 8.0, not 8.1

Any major changes in EMUI 8.1 ? Or just adapting EMUI for the new hardware stuff on P11 ?

Turned out to be EMUI 8.0.1, and no major changes that I can report on. Of course whatever is the final release for the P11 might be different.
Huawei don't bother with incremental OS updates. Correct me if I'm wrong, bit every Huawei and Honor phone never got 7.1 shame as 7.0 had a battery drain issue that was fixed in 7.1 a year later and my Honor 8's battery is still very poor.

Yes. I don't recall seeing an incremental update on Huawei either.

That's incredibly unfortunate given that .0 Android releases are usually quite half-baked. I guess it goes well with the half-baked EMUI.
This time there is a pretty darn important reason to go to 8.1 for Huawei, though. Fast, even.
Huawei is massively advertising the NPU of its Kirin 970 SoC - and on Android 8.0 the NPU is borderline useless. The couple of AI apps on the phone right now are little more than tech demos.
Android 8.1 brings the AI API necessary to make the NPU accessible to other apps.
Here is an editorial that speaks about the details and very much assumes that Android 8.1 will be coming to the Mate 10 (Pro) quite soon:
Android 8.1 and Oreo's AI future
If Huawei is truly skipping 8.1 this time around, they'd be significantly dumber than expected.
If the info in this link is true https://www.androidcentral.com/editors-desk-android-81-and-oreos-ai-future
I think the mate 10 will be the best/most advanced Android phone till the rest of the manufacturers bring NPU to there phones.
Hi everyone!
Seen a lot of hype around 3D Qmoji on the Nova3 and due to be released with the Mate 20 Pro early next week.
Anyone managed to get hold of an apk or know whether it will be added to the P20 Pro?!
Any help greatly appreciated!
A
+1 to this
yea, looks like fun and hope it the p20 pro gets the same features.
Huawei P20 Pro Emui 9 no ARLens and Qmoji
I have the latest update Emui 9 for Huawei P20 Pro bht still I have not had the features yet. Im disappointed as this is a flagship phone with high specs than Nova's. Got a call from Huawei Representative regarding my issue and said they will address it to the development team. Why now? Tsk.
This is really frustrating and the only thing I can fault Huawei for! I'm still awaiting my EMUI 9 update!
Hello, I just a brand "new" P30 Pro Mystic Blue, and I have a few questions that the community might be able to help me with. Firstly, places like Android Central and other reviewer websites says it has EMUI 10 preinstalled, but mine came with old EMUI 9.1. Are there any other users of the "new" P30 Pro and if so, do you also have EMUI 9.1 installed? Second question is how do I get access to the Beta for EMUI. It does not seem to work for users in the USA, are there any workarounds? Thanks.

All users have 9. 1 and not 10 cuz Q is not offical yet. There is no workaround for getting beta, u had to register for geting that via ota therefor there is no other method for updating beta. I cant remember is usa listed for country that will be part of beta project, search for that list, it is somewhere on xda.
Ok thanks very much, since there is not any camera improvements with EMUI 10, I guess I'll just wait.

lots of developers received HMS updates on Chinese version devices for test,
we don't even get the internal test, how & when can we upgrade HMS?
anyone have new?
Accordint to them, NOH-NX9 is not MAte 40 Pro and hence not included in the list.
In addition to the issue unable to install GMS (only choice is ourplay), so I really want to use the word "total failure" for Huawei phones international version outside China.
to global its coming in december. Official annaucement today

It comes in december. But I'm afraid the GMS install ability depends on firmware region not OS. I hope i'm wrong.

Well, december came and went
This article says it is coming this year instead, but does anyone have an official statement from Huawei?
Finally, Huawei reveals HarmonyOS will launch globally next year - 10% faster than Android

One month and three weeks ago, Google ceased support for Android 10. However, Huawei has pledged to continue providing security updates until May 31st, 2024, and even release EMUI 13. What are your thoughts on what the future may hold?
Very good remark.
There are so many cr*ppy Huawei 'Updates' and 'Blogs' and on some I read that EMUI 13 would still come and it would be based on Android 13. They are working on it....
In that case we can happily continue to use the P30 Pro until 1/1/2025 or smth like that.
On another blog I read that EMUI 13 would come but based on Android 10, in that case I'm not very interested in a new chinese-flavoured layout with a few new icons.
My personal fear is that Android 10 will be the terminus for the P30 Pro. (because Google will not grant Huawei the Android 13 update)
On the final note, I still love that phone and its camera capabilities.
