4K 60 Frame drops? - Samsung Galaxy S10 Questions & Answers

Anyone else experiencing frame drops at 4K 60? Like a random stutter or so whilst recording? Only seems to happen at 4K 60 but everything else is fine.

Are you saving to internal storage or SD Card?

I'm recording to Internal. I don't believe the phone allows recording to SD card with 4K 60.

Random video hiccups/pauses during recording

anyone know how to prevent these from happening? I've tried both recording to my external SD and internal phone memory
and what i mean was when you play back a video theres sometimes random pauses or video hiccups... i wish to prevent these.
I've experienced this... it's like the display flashes ever so slightly as well.
I'm using Monster Rom and I believe when i took my last video i had the Atrix camera, not sure if it happen prior to the change... will have to test.

[Q] Pixelated video in Instagram

The video on my Z1 works fine, I've got a 64gb class 10 card in there too so I can record enough video with out any issues, but when I'm using the capture video in Instagram the video just becomes blocky with big pixels.
Anyone else suffer this or know a solution?

GC2 20 minute video recording limit?

I'm extremely disappointed right now in the GC2. I purchased this to replace my other point and shoot and to also record videos of my lectures in college. However, no matter what I do, it seems there is a set limit of 20 minutes for video recording.
Doesn't matter if I change from 1080p to 720p or save to memory or a 64GB microSD card, the limit remains. I formatted the microSD both FAT32 and exFAT and that doesn't change a thing.
This is quite ridiculous. Has anyone figured out how to get around that?

Video Recording time cap

Hi guys, I'm writing this to ask you guys a question. It seems like there is a cap to how long i can record my video on note 4. I was recording on 720p, and it records about 42 min to about 4 gb storage. is there a way I can record much longer? When I record on the highest quality setting i can only record 5 min.
did anyone find solution to this?

Sounds like your memory card is formatted for Fat32 which has a 4GB file size limit. Reformat the card in exFat should solve your problem.

If you recording 4k be careful. Using the mod posted above will yes get you a little more time but will also over heat your phone and shut it down. Plus with that much heat you will be tearing thru SD cards. It happened to me and no help in thread about issue.

Sorry for the late reply. Windows can format exfat. Do you have a USB adapter for the card?

4K video recording

Hello everyone, on my XZ2 I can't record 4K videos. Well, I can, but they stutter while recording, or even freeze up. Sometimes the phone then freezes up too. Some reviewer mentioned stuttering viewfinder while recording videos, but when playing back it stutters too. Only if I disable shake reduction and HDR I have a chance of recording relatively smooth video. Otherwise I experience massive frame drops. h264 or h265 don't seem to make a difference. I've also recorded to the internal memory to make sure it's not a slow SD card causing issues.
It's the first phone this has ever happened to me. LG G5? Smooth 4K. LG V20? Smooth too. Xiaomi Mi 6? Yep. Even with a Snapdragon 810 (!) did smooth videos (I think my Snapdragon 800 based Mi 3 was smoother using Open Camera...).
Basically: WTH?
Also the XZ2 keeps overheating when taking photos. As a result certain features are deactivated, or it even quits the camera.
Any tricks? Anyone else having issues? My phone is a marketing sample, so probably early in the production run, so that may cause the issues?
Same here on 4K recording. No overheat on camera yet. Just went on holiday and took 900+ pics with no issues. Decent quality too. Disappointed with 4K recording capability though.
