Not only that but the stuff has already been available for a while now, as referenced in OP, which is where fffft got most of his stuff from. Pretty lame to go on a rampage like that after getting "spoonfed" himself.

thanks guys. i just want the community to have this information available. i've been hoping carriers would include all frequencies when they released phones since my first sony ericcson that didn't have 3G in the USA but did in europe. Hopefully we can make our devices completely globally valuable.
I was looking for this info as I own a SM-G9008V that has only few LTE and 3G bands enabled as it is bounded to a specific network in China. Thank to the original poster as I really needed this and hope it will be kept here.
I have htc one m8 verizon and i want to open 1800Mhz band (lte) , this guide work on my phone?

You could damage your phone by flashing a rom
Isriam said:
Compiled all information I could find via google search. It will be formatted better later and if you add bands for your country please reply with the needed nv edits for your country/carriers.
Step by step guide
1. You need a phone with a Qualcomm processor that has been rooted.
2. Root
3. Custom ROM & kernel. Kernel has anti-tamper code removed if it is custom. Cm11+arc or Phoenix+kernel work.

Hi, cheers for the effort, looks very thorough. I'd love to try that on my S5 SM-G906K soon but unfortunately there ain't custom kernels yet for this model.
Please can you outline what possible effect might be of following the steps on a stock kernel?
Are we talking possible brick or just, say, changes won't stick?
Hi guys,
Thanks for this guide.
I live in France and I want to buy the SM-G906s/k from Korea but in France the lte bands are 800,1800,2600 Mhz. I would like to know if it possible to unlock this band ?
Sorry for my bad english
Many thanks to the OP, really helps having all this info in one post

You should be able to enable the appropriate LTE bands based on the directions in the 1st post. You will need to ensure your phone is unlocked though so that it can move to other carriers beforehand.

Well no, I don't think there's a kernel for my device and is kernel changing important? And generally I think this guide is too long and hard, ain't there an app or maybe if somebody can help me through Skype or something? Maybe YouTube video

I might be able to obtain a custom kernel for SM-G906K that blocks the security measures and enables tampering with the modem but there's little that can be done if you're not prepared to follow the steps as described above. If you try but stuck at some point then help will be provided.
There isn't an app that would do it for you unfortunately.

Awesome consolidated information in the first post. The one item that confused me (and it just may not be publicly known) is what downsides exist for exposing more LTE bands. I would think there should be some battery impact as more frequency scans need to be done but just wanted to check and see if there were any other downsides from just opening all frequencies.
Thanks!

when i get my phone and do this i will update the OP with better steps. at this time i haven't done this on a g900f but i have on other devices from cdma days.
Thanks for this awesome guide!
I'd like to stay on the stock rom though - is it possible to switch back to stock after doing this? Might it even be possible to just change the kernel to do all this? I guess there's no way to do it without tripping knox, right?
i was able to add all lte bands with a tw rom. i havent messed with the 2g/3g bands, but adding lte was pretty simple since its decimal in nv memory spot 6828.
I have been searching for stock firmware for the republic wireless moto x. So far I haven't found anything, and previous versions do not work when flashing with fastboot and mfastboot. If any kind soul could find or extract the SBF files for the LPA23.12-39-R-19 build that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Senior Member S5610,
I'm NOT the original poster @peacefulness. But I'm yet another user of Moto X 2013 (with carrier Republic Wireless). My phone suddenly can not boot. You can read detail description in my post in Republic Wireless forum (https://community.republicwireless.com/message/527954). And this happened to start at one week after the OP wrote this thread.
So, dear S5610, did you hint that you could possibly provide that ROM, after you hear a sound reason? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Sorry, I don't have it either, but I know how to push system partition on bootloader locked device.
How exactly it can not boot? Did you try to flash kernel, modem? Here is dump from -19.
I'm sure they will release LPA23.12-39-R-19 later, because service facilities need it.

The thing I wasn't sure of was the differences in versions so I just took a shot (110) and after clearing the cache got it booted up again.
does the bootloader need to be unlocked for this?
i just got a replacement under warranty and its stuck on 109....the one that broke was 112
New comment!
Since the OP apparently is MIA, and since I'm kind of in the first few posts, I'm editing this to provide the latest links for which we in this thread have our hands on, in hopes that a helpless, suffering, wandering soul who may want/need it, sees it.
Other firmwares may be around if you ask.
Also, provide if you have some love to share, since i hear FF also gave up on the A09, presumably to be in tune to Huawei's contempt.
I dunno. Whatever. That's what a community such as this is for.
We also exist here, so check it out if you don't find whatchamacallit here
Thanks to my guide @ante0, for instilling in me a desire to help just like he's helped so many (i read a whole lot by you, even when i hardly ask you things! ...although I'm world's behind his knowledge, to be sure lol!
Thank you, @nabril15, for being a real "mate" on this hobby of ours, refreshing to see someone who comes for what brought them here, and stays afterwards to help in every and any thing they can.
I know, i sound like a just cooked a rom or developed the greatest app yet, but if i didn't say it now, when? xD
Lastly, don't forget to thank (thumbs and, if within your means, why not? a beer or latte) the guys who most immediately make this possible, @Pretoriano80, @zxz0O0 and @topjohnwu

For any flashing yes you do, there's a way to somehow make it recognize there's an update manually but you would have to search for that as i don't exactly recall how, and that way you wouldn't need to unlock bootloader

How can I do it without unlocking the boot loader?Pls can u tell me the method?I have search everywhere but didn't find it.
Does anyone know how to flash the VERSION.img file? I was able to flash the system partition however the phone still prompts for a software update, had to manually modify the local.prop file in /version/special_cust/BLA-A09/hw/usa/prop.

yeah, it's unfortunate but likely the case. It's the user/customer that has to suffer in the end. Spying via smartphones is done in the US as well. I that case we shouldn't have to worry
BBIWY
Hopefully will keep supporting their US versions, or send one update to change the version to European, thereby making it one less version to work on.
I know, it's not something they'll do..but

Is ridiculous when you think about it. Motorola is owned by Lenovo which is a Chinese company and US government gives them a pass.
Does anyone know, if you were to buy the INTERNATIONAL version of the Mate 10 Pro (Amazon) yeah, no U.S. warranty, would it get the updates faster than the actual U.S. version?
I'm thinking about getting the international version, since it has the bands for at&t (which I use via straight talk).

You should at least be able to rebrand to get updates. I wish I had done that. It will definitely get updates faster, maybe not the latest one. But better than none.
The US brand phone is still great without the latest updates. I'm not a gamer and I can do without face unlock
I'm not a gamer either, but, I'd like to have the security patches within a few weeks instead of months after release. Yeah, I know, you want instant updates, get an Apple or Pixel...but I see the Huawei patches released pretty much LAST for the U.S. versions of their phones.
I'm hoping after Treble is the "normal", patches will be pushed by Google, not the manufacturers or carriers.

Hey y'all,
Has anybody ever seen a Razer Phone 2 with THX Logo on the back of the phone? Just curious.
UPDATE!!!
This is definitely different because the bootloader is unlocked but it still has the DRMs intact. To get to the recovery/fastboot info it has a different hard key combo. Upon boot it shows a serial list and unlocked bootloader. It's dual SIM and has more internal storage. It has a different device name too Cheryl2/Bolt. It also has code Aurora apps for testing installed as default.
If it's possible to extract the DRMs from this device to use on Razer Phone 2s with unlocked bootloader's I'm all ears and will try to do it for y'all.
Thanks
Anybody?

What I'm curious about is why the build of the device is in June of this year, that it has 512 GB internal storage, dual SIM, and widevine L1 with bootloader unlocked. That's crazy. I would like to extract the DRM partition but don't know what partition it is under. We could all have unlocked bootloader's with widevine L1.

That’s insane man. I would loved to have lucked up with that model. Does it seem to have all of the appropriate bands that the global version has?
I hope it is possible to share that partition though. That would be amazing. Has anyone stated that it is actually a possibility?

Awesome, Maybe someone will help you. I’m not ver knowledgeable about that sort of thing, but I know a few people who are. Has anyone reached out to you yet?
It seems that the widevine partition is located in the vendor partition. I know the vendors are easily flashed on Pixel devices, so maybe that would be plausible. I hope it is able to be done.
