Strange issue with App Launch (App Power Management) - Huawei P30 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi, I have noticed something strange with the settings in Settings > Battery > App Launch
I have turned this off due to previously asking about not receiving notifications, this did fix that issue. i then found the 3 dots in the top right of that screen and there’s an option called manage manually and as would be the case most apps have 3 ticks next to most of the apps, there are a lot that, don't have ticks though, i would assume all should have ticks if i have set the auto manage to off?
I then thought i would try enabling manage automatically again and then manually switching only the apps i want to run freely to do so, this all seemed to go fine and as i tapped on each one i got the option to turn on auto launch, secondary launch & run in background. So once i have done all the apps i wanted i went out of them settings then went back in and it has completely turned off auto manage for everything.
It seems that when you turn off this setting it is best to also go to manage manually as well and check the apps that are / are not selected; this does seem to save when you go out then back in.
I must admit i was very impressed with the battery on the p30 until i turned the auto management off and it feels a lot more like my old phone again now, i guess that’s what you have to do if you want notifications though.
Not sure what anyone else thinks of all this?

[Q] New Kies update details please

I have hunted for details of the new XXLT9 update and can find virtually nothing. We have 2 notes running LSO/LSZ very well indeed with good battery life and little lag and wonder what the total benefits/losses are of the new update. If it helps any one. I put our good battery life down to this, (phones have never been rooted by the way.) disable all unused/undesired apps.. yahoo etc, but clear each unwanted programs cache and data first then take the green tick out and only then disable. Even all the other programs you use take the green ticks out except chaton / messages /email and any other necessary priority app, I mean literally go through every app and take out the green tick unless its needed then set email to manual sync unless your a business, set the screen mode to the lowest brightness setting acceptable to you, then put power saving on in the task bar set screen time out to 15 secs unless your doing something special and turn brightness down as low as you find you can.I have just 27 good apps on mine (green ticks are out.). I have mentioned disabling for another reason as well, I noticed with the last maps and the play services updates that you cannot disable them or take the ticks out and I'll be surprised if I'm the only one out of millions who disables these, I mean why if you you use maps once or nonce a day should you leave it spying on you and using your data all day reporting back to google and taking up ram but I'm thinking the new update XXLT9 will have all the latest google versions baked in so people can't uninstall the updates back to the version they can disable, if this turns out to be the only reason ,thinly veiled by some little unworthy treat I'll stay put, but if theres any good new features/benefits it would be good if some one could share.
Thank you.

Apps and notification access keeps getting stopped

I have a couple of apps that i use for my pebble and also mi band, and i notice that after a while, they stop notifying me about anything. Upon opening the app, it says that notification access is not enabled, and i have to enable it again.
So i go in, slide left then slide right to enable it again to work. Seems like a pain to consistently do this, seeing 4gb of ram *should* be enough to plod along. Any ideas on how to make it stick?

hi,
When i had a similar issue on my Note5 and another device, Notifications get killed and i had to enable notifications again etc. I realized something /process, was "killing" apps /notifications
I then found Smart manager, was responsible.
I opened Smart Manager and selected each app that i wanted to run and selected. "Turn off"
Afterwards, apps that was closing/notification, was working fine. Eg my watch" Gear manager",
third party alarm etc. etc
Good luck
Wow you're awesome! Thank you!!

Auto Turn off Apps

Hi guys,
I have my MI 5 a few days I'm happy with it and now I'm testing it
So today I was running and I used Endomodo for save my workout
It use GPS to Record where and how much you run but when I finish it had nothing and I had some message like that "you are losing gps sign maybe your system kill this process to save battery see you settings"
I was tried to change my settings but I see nothing for it.. somebody know what I need to change?
I dont have any other program for battery or to kill apps
Cheers
Apps like Endomondo requires continuous location access, change Settings->Additional Settings->Battery & Performance->Manage apps' battery usage->Choose Apps->Endomondo->No restrictions + Allow background location.

App data getting wiped again and again?

Every so often, I have to re-set-up an app. Like Android Auto, this morning, it wouldn't auto start again. When I started it, I had to go through "setup" again. Has anyone experienced that?
I've turned off the Security App's Cleaner to clean automatically,. I can't seem to add any exceptions.
I've turned off MIUI optimization in developer options.
Don't Keep activities: OFF
Background process limit: standard
Memory Optimization: middle
Anyone else have any ideas?

Unlocked S10+ apps not refreshing in background?

Hey guys I have an issue with my new phone. For some reason I cannot get my Honeywell T6 geofencing to work unless I put the app in the foreground. I've also noticed I don't get any notifications until several hours later for my apps and Gmail. I checked all these apps and they have background data enabled and I don't have the data saver on either. Any ideas??
Here's a few things to try:
Go to Settings -> Device care -> Battery
Select the 3 dots in the upper right and select Settings -> Sleeping apps
Verify the apps you have trouble with aren't listed in there.
Then, from the main settings screen go to Apps.
Find one of the apps you're having trouble with and tap on it (or just select any app you wish).
Select Battery -> Optimize battery usage
Change the drop-down from "Apps not optimized" to "All".
Verify that the apps you have issues with are not enabled.
I had this same exact problem with mine. The only way I would be able to get app notifications to come through was to reboot and everything would come flooding in. I tried the app sleeping apps thing but there was only about 5 apps in there, and out of all the apps I was missing notifications from only one of them was in there. The problem went away on its own though. Not a single clue as to what was going on or causing the issue.
The second part fixed my issues! Thanks!!!! I was scratching my head wondering what was going on! Once I disabled the honeywell it instantly recognized that I was within the geofence (ive been home for 20mins now)and started up my furnace!
