did you try this already.
Turn off the device.
•Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
•When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume down button.
•‘Factory data reset’ appears.
•Use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
•Press the Power button to confirm.
•Erase all user data and restore default settings’ appears.
•Use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
•Press the Power button to reset the device
try with your pc if you can do the update.

It basically says "Find the owner! It is the cell phone which the lost report was received. Please report acquisition to SK Telecom Customer Center (1599-0011)"
Looks like SK Telecom embedded a anti-theft into the phone to disable it's use should it be reported lost or stolen. How did you get the phone? If through unofficial channels, you might want to see about getting your money back.

fixed done with 20$

ez I can fix it for $ 15

Power on / off button problem

Hello guys,
A few weeks ago I bought a p990. Everything is ok I enjoy the phone ( CM 7.2 rooted ) however the power button doesn't work perfectly . I have to tap it on the left side of button ( stronger than usually ). Do you know what should I do ? Can I change a ' wake up ' button for another ?
PS. i dont have warranty.
Please give me an advice.

HI, you can change a "wake up" button for another in settings-display and check "Volume rocker wake". You can after wake up screen with vol+/- button. :cyclops:
Try CM10... It's the best and the last night today's version is really stable and ****ing smooth...

If you want stay on CM7 try reinstall your ROM and in CWM make Dalvik Cache and Format your phone. You will have clear phone and everything should be allright... Don't forget backup your data...!!!
Its not working at all Only first wake up work correctly. Then volume +/- doesnt respond.

You must flash cm7 or cm10. There is a function to wake up your phone with volume buttons. And for screen off are tons of applications in play store.

Reminds me of a problem with the Palm T|X, which was known for failing power buttons (I wonder how many people remember that device? I am still using mine... ) The best and cheapest solution was the same -- just to replace the button. Doesn't even have to be exactly the same type, as long as it fits...
Yes i am from the ones that started to experience button problem but i found replacement and will replace it when it comes
After so many presses it start's not 2 work on soft press
There is any guide on how to fix or replace the power button ?

Lg powerbutton

Hello people
I already have a new phone.
But my oldphone the optimus black the power button dont work sometimes it works if i put different charger in my phone :/
Idunno what this is caused by.
And if there is no solution could i use the g button like powerbutton.
My ob is stock 4.0.4 and rooted.
Thank you
the power button, speaker and usb port are all located on the same connector
I saw this when I opened mine and it wasnt charging, power button didnt work and the earphone speaker wouldnt work sometimes as well.
the connection comes lose over time, what I did was to add a thin piece of foam ontop of the connector to keep it in place

Did you try and hold the reset button? Hold it until your phone shuts of and vibrates 3 times if the button is broken you can either:
A: wait for the battery to die
B: send it to service center

Power off reboot?

On my s4 i used to to hold the power button for 5 seconds or so and it would reboot. Did they ditch that feature or did i loose it somehow?
volume down + power for about 10 seconds
Works like charm?
On mine I just hit the restart button:

Yes restart works but it very usefull to have a long press for restart. For example when the devise freezes or when in download mode or when you are manually restarting recovery with the volume up buttons and you didn't press the button in time. So intead of waiting for a full reboot you can restart in the middle of a reboot.
This is the closest I could find on the intraweb:

I'll look into it.

Battery pulls and booting into recovery or download mode have saved me every time.

Shortcut settings for Vibrate mode on lollipop

Ever since lollipop update, holding the power button and setting to vibrate/mute mode was removed. What do you guys do/use to go to vibrate mode now? Is there any faster way other than holding # on the keypad or changing to vibrate mode on notification bar that doesn't require to unlocking the phone.
Press volume down until the phone vibrates.

Right. Volume button all the way down. Vibrates. Press it down again and it's in silent mode.

That's weird. I was rooted prior to the update. I wiped and flashed the stock rom via odin. Nothing else was done.
I don't use the stock lockscreen mainly because playstore lockscreens have more options like more apps besides camera and phone.
Try zuilocker. it includes a control panel with some quick settings like sound mode.
So, bottom line, on stock unrooted, there is no way to add the old sound short cuts on the power menu?

The volume toggle on my Note4 also doesn't work on the lock screen. I have an unlocked, unrooted Egyptian version. Did you find any kind of a solution to changing sound modes from the lock screen?
