Hello is there any messaging apps other than the stock S5 mms one with Samsung Emoji?
I've looked and simply can't find one at all! I know you can use the emoji switcher app in the play store but most of the time it doesn't work.
Any suggestions is appreciated! [emoji106]
Anybody?
I'm not sure what the stock Samsung emoji list consists of but I highly recommend Textra SMS & their emoji package as a replacement for the stock app. Has so many features and not a big heavy app either. Check it out in the Play store, it's free. They finally updated it to allow you to view & answer texts on the Lock Screen!
8sms is a Samsung stock message replacement app. I love it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
i had gear fit for few months and loved how I get all the notification from "HANGOUT" and all other chat apps (like Skype).
then I was hoping to answer phone call with gear not just denying the phone call with gear fit.
so I upgrade to gear 2 neo.
but this one can't seems to send "ANY" notifications if I use sms with google hangout.
I tried everything but still no go.
when I finally switch back from hangout to original Samsung sms app, then I get all the notifications along with other apps as well
is there any solution for this? I love google hangout app.
model number SM-R381
software version R381XXU0BNE5
is it because of new firmware?
I don't care replying sms through gear neo I just wanna have this pop up notifications.
with hangout enable, I don't even get vibration notice. I simply don't get any notifications.
I have one other question.
if I root this gear neo, can I delete all apps that I don't want to have?
PS:
if my questions are already went over, please direct me to the right direction please.
thank you in advance.
There is an option in the Gear manager app to adjust notifications.
Go to Notifications
Then Manage notifications
then you can either select all or go through and pick which apps. and make sure you select google hangouts.
In the Gear Manager you can edit the apps that will push their notifications to the Gear however only the stock apps really work. Apps such as hangouts or 3rd party sms apps you can only view the notification but not reply.
Hello,
Has anyone swapped to the Google Messages/Android Messages app over the stock Samsung messages app on the S10/S10+ and been able to get RCS working?
I came from a Pixel 3 XL and enjoy the Android Messages app over the Samsung app even with the OneUI overhaul, but I cannot get RCS/Chat working - it is not even visible in advanced settings. If I swap to the Samsung app it sends RCS messages no problem, swap back to Android messages it goes back to SMS/MMS only. I also installed Google Carrier services thinking maybe it needed that to trigger it but nothing, looks like the Carrier services app also does not get triggered to actually provision anything even with it installed.
Would love to hear if anyone has this working
Same issue here. I prefer Android messages since I get a lot of verification codes texted to me and Android messages has a quick copy code option. On TMobile. Rcs works fine on Samsung message app.

I am using T-Mobile and I have not yet had RCS support(waiting for it), but I want to ask, how did you install Google Messages app on your new Samsung phone? Did you transfer your info including apps using Samsung Switch app? If yes, some apps may not have transferred correctly, so I would uninstall them, then reinstall or just try clearing data of that app.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Google Messages a few times, still does not resolve, even installed Google Carrier Services to attempt to fix. Really odd if you cant use a different message client with the same tech.
beep boop
Right now its only supported on the stock Samsung messaging app.

"Messages" is a public app that Google has on the Play Store (just search for 'Messages' and make sure you get the one from Google LLC), and anyone with an Android phone can download it. It's a drop-in SMS/MMS replacement for OEM (or carrier) apps for SMS/MMS.... it also supports RCS, but not on every phone.

And it looks like it may stay that way for a while: For RCS to be shared between apps, the way SMS/MMS are, Google needs to build an API so that different apps could access the same data. It LOOKED like htye were going to do that, but then 9to5Google and others reported that the code was hidden and commented out in the Android Q preview, with comments suggesting that it wouldn't be available till Android R. Lord knows why it's taking Google this many hears to get down basic functionality on something as important as messaging... they've been pushing their RCS Universal Profile since 2016, so it seems ridiculous that it'll be 2020 (for Android R) before they release an API baked into Android for it.
Textra is still my favorite SMS app. I wish Messages and Samsung Messages would implement their quick reply features
It works for me sending messages to my parents who are on Sprint with me using the Google Messages app. I'm pretty sure they are using the default Samsung messages app but I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
Not exactly the same but worth a mention...Verzion S10- has Real Time Text (RTT) working..you enable this from the stock phone dialer screen, three dots at the top right for Settings > Real Time Text. You can set it to always on and you'll get the additional option to send an RTT type message call whenever you click a contact.
I have a oneplus 8 pro, and I am disappointed that I can't receive messages nativley on my watch. I was wondering if there was a port of Samsung Messages, that I could install on my Oneplus 8 pro, so I could get the full compatibility? I am fine with switching my default messaging app, I just want my watch to work.
(And yes, I have tried pulse)
Another alternitave is porting android messages over to tizen, but I have absolutely no idea how to get an android app working on the galaxy watch 3 :/
The way you should think about it is not how to get an Android app on the Galaxy Watch, but how to make an app for the Galaxy Watch which will take data from Android Messages (or whatever app you prefer).
The term I've seen on Samsung Developer guides is "Tizen OS app on the watch with Android app companion on the phone".
Another approach would be to reverse-engineer how their Galaxy Wearable app works (and possibly Samsung Messages) and code some sort of app which will take your data from whatever messaging app you prefer and send that as a "fake" Samsung Messaging app to your watch.
I have the galaxy watch 3 . The watch doesn't show my text app or messages. I have checked all permissions and all are on but the watch does not access the messaging app. I've reset the watch and uninstalled the wearable and plugin apps to no avail.
Please help me resolve this issue!
