Need some help with airplane_mode_radios - Huawei Mate 10 Guides, News, & Discussion

I did some testing with Tasker and somehow managed to screw up this setting. Could someone with access to a Huawei Mate 10 Pro check the contents of settings.global.airplane_mode_radios?
I "think" it should be "cell, bluetooth, wifi, nfc" but I'm not at all sure so I would appreciate it if someone can check and report back. You can use "Tasker" to check the value of this setting variable.
Thanks!

[Help] Changing screen timeout while WhatsApp running

Hey everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this.
I wanted to make so when i'm using whatsapp the screen timeout of my phone changes to 2 minutes instead of my usual 30 seconds.
It looked like it was working but one time I noticed the screen went off after the 30 seconds, so i pulled down my notification bar and checked it.. It was infact set at 30 and not 2 minutes
I noticed that the 2 minutes always work in the whatsapp homepage but they get resetted to 30seconds whenever I enter a chat and send a message. If then I go back to the homepage of the app they get switched again to 2 minutes
What I did to setup the profile is:
1. Create new application profile and select WhatsApp
2. Add a task that makes the screen timeout change to 2 minutes
3. Uncheck restore settings on the advice of another user
Trying to "debug" the problem I even added an exit task which set the timeout back to 30 seconds but that didn't seem to change anything
If anyone could help me out that would be greatly appreciated
Edit: I'll be more specific the timeout becomes 30 second whenever I tap to type and the keyboard opens, whenever I tap away it goes back to 2 minutes. Is there anyway to prevent that from happening beside using the the same settings for the keyboard?
Quick fix
After time out add another action
Add -> Input -> Soft Keyboard.
It works that way I tried it with soft keyboard and without soft keyboard.

Hey and thanks for your answer!
It actually did not work for me
my device is a5 2016 running nougat
I did find a workaround for now that i might or might not keep it.
What i did was:
1. Create new app profile for gBoard
2. Set screen timeout at 2 mins if PACTIVE *,whatsapp,*
It seems to work for now even though It's not the best style and it does take two profiles instead of one, I'm very open to try and fix it the way you suggest if we manage to make it work
Thanks for taking the time to help me!

That's strange that it didn't work cuz I also use gboard. I'll try it again and let you know.
Btw did you try it or are you saying it based on your notification?

It still doesn't work on my end. I activated your profile and the problem is the same I was experiencing before, take a look at these two screenshots one with the keyboard open and the other without

Are you sure time timeout actually sets to 2 minutes on your device?
I'm using an edited quick setting tile from Google play to check it

Quick settings is the culprit.
So I installed the quick settings app from playstore and used the screen time out tab and then all of a sudden my time out profile stopped working.
I then disabled the time out thing from the quick settings app and it still didn't work.
I then uninstalled the quick settings app and it still didn't work.
Finally I'd to reboot the device and my profile started working.
So yeah you'll have to choose between Quick Settings and Time Out.

Change dp and text size?

Hello.
I have searched with no result.
My question is: can tasker modify the dp (not DPI) setting that is under developer options and the text size?
I want to do this before connecting the device to an external screen through hdmi.
I know that secondscreen app can be launched within tasker and can change resolution and DPI but that also requires an UI refresh. Is a little more complex than using the options that are in the system already.
Thank you.
There is quite a good chance you can do it through shell root commands if you read this shirt article

Is is the option you asked? If yes, then it's possible.
You can use Autotools Plugin to change it.
Hopes this help.
@Jakob1379, @aillez thank you for answering.
The problems is that my case is a non rooted device, so the most of those shell commands cannot be executed.
The text size is one of the options I want change, the other is not the display size. Is the "smallest width" (i think is called that way in English) under developer options.
I will try to find the setting and see if it can be changed with shell command without root.
Thank you.

Would suggest autotools as well and if that doesn't do the job, he probably has to resort to automating screen touch with something like autoinput

Try using a screen recording app to capture what you're experiencing & post it here.
Otherwise, you're not giving the membership here much to go on to aid you in troubleshooting the issue.
A bit more info on which 3rd party apps you have that may be the culprit would be helpful as well.
Or,you can probably figure it out on your own by using Safe Mode:
https://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-galaxy-note-9/safe-mode/
Once in Safe Mode, the phone is running only the factory-installed apps.
One by one, start using the other apps you've loaded up until you see the issue arise again. & you'll have the culprit.
Thank you. How to attach a gif here?

You could upload the .gif to any number of places (You-Tube,Imgur/etc.....)& post the link to it,but, since you're a new member,I think you have to have a minimum amount of posts before that is enabled.
IDK what the threshold is,but,in the meantime, try using the safe mode method I posted.
it's a sure-fire way to troubleshoot,if not a long process, depending on how many user-installed apps you need to re-enable before the problem arises again.
Please keep us posted on your results & WELCOME TO XDA-DEVELOPERS! :good:

[Project] Air Gestures to control your phone

With the announcement of the new gestures feature for the Pixel 4 I thought: "I should try something similar with Tasker".
Here it is!
It's obviously less precise because you don't have all the extra sensors needed for accurate gestures, but on the other hand it's infinitely more customizable!
Depending on what situation you're in, you'll be able to do lots of different things!
Included are:
Music control gestures
Whatsapp gesture
These are just 2 examples. You can expand on these and do whatever you want with them!
Import the project here!
Enjoy!
Great job Joao!!!
If I can, I would like to share mine too from time ago. Hope this helps yours

Also, did you give AutoNotification access to your notifications? Go to Tasker > Menu > More > Android Settings > Notification Access > Check if AutoNotification is enabled.

Yes, version 5.8.2 installed. AutoNotification has an access. All is set as you indicate. Maybe there is an issue with my proximity sensor. I test it by dialing *#77692# and by default it was off. I turned it on and It worked perfectly. On second attempt to dial It was off again. Maybe It is activated on samsung S10 only at performing specific action as making phone call?
I also checked with Sensoroid - Senso info app what sensor are there at my S10. It lists about 52 sensors found including TMD4910 Proximity sensor, Proximity pocket and Palm Proximity Sensor.

I would love to hear some other ideas that people on this thread used when activating this. I'm not a WhatsApp user, so I'm only basing my experiences through GPM. Any additional apps where this could be advantageous?

Start with making sure the proximity sensor is working. A poster above with a Samsung had a problem like that. If you need an app to test it, try Sensors Toolbox
Then look at the tasker log and see if there is any messages there that will help.
Are you trying the WhatsApp or music controls?

I actually installed this to see what was up. On the music version, the profile "Proximity With Music" has three contexts. The AutoNotification context is set to trigger the profile only on notifications from specific apps. You need to check and make sure your app is enabled there. Also, if you don't have AutoNotification installed, it won't work.
As far as taking a photo, that definitely can be done. Here is a Air Camera project. It builds on Joao's project and requires AutoInput to be installed.
It's possible that it won't work out of the "box" due to two things.
1) The "Camera" profile gets triggered based on the Google Camera app opening. This would need to be updated to whichever camera app is used.
2) In the "Handle Camera Gesture" profile entry task, the AutoInput action is expecting the Google Camera app. If that doesn't exist, that action can be updated to operate the shutter button in whatever camera app is installed.
NOTE: In the "Handle Camera Gesture" profile entry task, there is a paused action, "Take Photo". That is actually the Tasker action that will take a photo regardless whether the camera is open or not. It's a bit silly in this application but could be used instead of the AutoInput action.

activating lastpass accessibility toggle

Is it possible to use tasker to switch on lastpass accessibility toggle? My OnePlus 3t (not rooted, OOS 9.0.4) deactivates it almost on a daily basis. I have switched off battery optimisation for lastpass but the phone turns the toggle off.
Use auto input
Ta. I'll check that out
Hi there. Maybe you can try using the "Custom Setting" action for that. Try using the Magnifying glass in the action with the option to automatically find the setting and see if Tasker can find it. Hope this helps!

The easy way is to use the Secure Settings action in AutoTools. That has a direct option for accessibility services. I plan on adding that option to Tasker directly at a later date.
With the Custom Setting action what you should do is read the value, remove or add the needed service from the list, the write the setting.
