I've tried relentlessly to find a way to keep the screen on while charging, to practically no avail.
I ended up installing an app called "Stay Awake", which worked in theory, however, after 5 seconds the screen adjusts to the dimmest setting which is nearly impossible to read unless you are in a dark room.
Without that app running nothing else works to keep the screen on during charging.
Anyone solved this issue yet?
Thanks
Why do you want to keep it on? There are some clock apps that i think do this. But not 100% on that.

I use it to stream music to my car stereo using Winamp. Its aggravating to have to turn the screen back on everytime I want to change the song/station.

What I described above is what happens with auto brightness off. After 5 or 6 seconds the screen dims, but stays on, which is fine at night, but during the day its unreadable.

You need a car dock app then. Dashdroid used to do it. Been years since i used one. But check out dock apps.
I recently came across a setting in Settings/Developer options/Stay awake. Perhaps that would do the trick

Did you enable the Developer settings by tapping repeatedly on the build number in settings? I have the setting on my Note 3. Or do you mean it doesn't really do the trick? Sorry lol

Try Screen Timeout Toggle. Great little app that worked for me when I needed this feature while on my Note 2.

The setting is under the developer options screen. (If you don't have developer options enabled go to settings->about device and tap on build number about 10 times. (half way thru tapping you'll see a pop up telling you how many taps are left))

Using lightflow for Y messenger. Not sure why. I''m headed to work and can't investigate right now. But I will...
Update: once you enable the mixer, a setting appears allowing for an app controlled flash. It was selected in the y messenger. I selected it in a couple other app's notifications and it does indeed work.
So you're saying you have blinking LED notification? The holy unicorn of features our brethren have been hunting for a long time now?
I saw it originally out of the corner of my eye and paid no attention to it until I saw it again. Then I watched for it.

This is the hidden LED under the grill right? Not the camera LED?
Cause I swear to god, if this is the elusive hidden blinking, you're gonna be a hero.
Post a video, haha.
I am referring to the led under the speaker.
Been blinking on LightFlow like this for over 7 months now. Across several different roms. Where have you guys been Rip-Van-Winkleing?
Glad you discovered it. Welcome to the club. Kinda like finding a treasure chest of doubloons, isn't it?

Interesting, I knew about some ROMS that have it. But every thread I see about this being unlocked w/o flashing a custom ROM everywhere has ended with. Nope.
I guess you learn something new everyday.

Any specific settings? I got it flashing. But it's all 3 colors at once. I can't get just one color only.
In the mixer, turn off the LEDs you don't want.

I am rooted.
I found this thread originally:http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/led-speaker-confirmed-t2947625
And went from there.
I tired turning off the ones I didn't want. No matter what I did, all colors came on.
It's ok though. I decided not to go with this in the end because the notification would only blink for 3 minutes. Once the phone started going into Doze mode. It killed the LED. Even with the Deep Sleep force mode active in the app.

Does it have an effect on battery life? Does it blink even in deep sleep, and do you have to enable wakelocks in Lightflow settings?

In LightFlow you can set it to disable on sleep either by time schedule or when "priority" or "none" (silent) interruptions are set. I have seen no noticeable adverse effects on battery drain.

Battery life wasn't a concern really. It was the LED being turned off completely once Doze kicked in. Even allowing Lightflow to not be turned off by Doze under the "Optimization" menu in Battery.
Maybe I'll try it again someday. For now though it's not something I want to fight with on my phone haha.
I don't have the mixer setting in mine
This question is a bit unrelated to this thread, but sort of in the same vicinity. I'm an N6 first-time user, and since I am unable to find a user manual for this device, I am desperately trying to find out what the "thing" is on the left side of the upper speaker. It looks like a hidden LED (not the hidden one under the speaker bar), just on the top left. Does anyone know?
Its the proximity sensor.

When you move the phone slightly the underdisplay fingerprint glows, can anybody tell me how to turn it off? I want it to goow only when I press on the phone, is this possible?
Doesn't seem so, as it's the only way to know where to put your finger.
It seems to be implemented at the "hardware level".
I'd you mean the fingerprint icon that shows up when you pick the phone up, you can't disable it currently.

OP, which firmware are you running? I'm on EU rom and there used to be a bug, which resulted in being a workaround to disable the fingerprint icon.
However now there is a dedicated setting, see attached, which allows turning off the icon

Damn, i might flash this rom just for this feature, it's super annoying at night, and it keep activating the screen in my pocket.
Can you flash it over the global rom, or does it require a wipe? (probably..)

Hmm given the rom is different, I'd say you may run into issues. But with that said, worth a shot! If dirty flashing, perhaps wipe system and the caches, then flash rom and magisk (if rooting), and keep those fingers crossed!
Any issues then yeah do a clean install

Does seem somewhat like this because if that and the ambient display is disabled, the fingerprint doesn't respond from screen off. But if that and/or ambient display is enabled, it works. But at least something has to be turned on keeping at least some part of the screen awake.
I chose to enable ambient but disable fingerprint icon because ambient goes around the whole screen giving me peace of mind from burn in unlike the icon

I even went so far as to disable the system AOD apk via an apk disabler tool & that did not work.
IDK if you ever found the actual toggle to turn it off......I finally found it by selecting the search result in Settings.
I typed in Always & stopped there,finding "Always-On Display".
The toggle is at the very top of the page (FWIW,I missed this earlier when in the settings,it was easy for me to overlook the toggle in dark mode).
If you've already tried this & it's still coming on,here's what I'm trying for the next day or so:
Turn Always-On Display back on & set a scheduled time for one minute.
For example,I've got it turning on at 4:00 A.M. & turning off at 4:01 A.M.
ATM,option 2,the scheduled on/off time,seems to be working.
EDIT;after a few minutes,AOD is coming back on.
This is annoying....... Not looking good as a keeper, not liking OxyColor OS at all, what a mess compared to the OP7T Pro.
Not just this, but, the settings layout (for individual app settings is a trainwreck & power/performance options not sticking, keeps reverting back to out-of-box settings.
Well I think I found a permanent fix for this...it's actually a bug (in my case anyway)
I was forced to wipe my phone, which was a huge pain due to a problem with a mod I'd installed..
Anyway on boot I set everything back up then realised it's got AOD on by default and I went a turned it off.
Low and behold it stayed off..no need to do anything.
So what I think has happened is the update that came recently (11_A.12) that could have caused issues, always good to wipe after an update.
I honestly don't know if this will fix things for you, but it did for me.
Couple that with the fact that I'm now getting unbelievable battery life...I think it's maybe a good idea to at least try, you may not fix your AOD but you may get better battery. As I did, I think you'll probably get both.
Here's a bunch of pics from the last 24 hours, midnight on Thursday evening /start of Friday up till now.
Absolutely amazing.

I just got the 1st system update for the T-Mobile US version.
The AOD option to turn it off is now working.
Here's what is/was strange, pre-update:
The only way I could see/access the Always-On Display settings/toggle was to have the stock OnePlus Launcher as the default home app.
Even then, AOD stayed on, whether toggled on or off.
I was able to figure this out from prior experience with the original Oppo Find X & VIVO NEX.
Very strange that certain (seemingly unrelated) settings would be hidden due to choice of home launcher, but, apparently,BBK doesn't see this as an issue/bug(feature, LOL) that needs to be addressed, guessing this "feature" is persistent on the home market China models/firmware.
Glad it was cleaned up for the T-Mobile US update.
On a somewhat related note, pre-update, I could not find a way to choose "No Lock Screen". I looked in the usual place to find such & it was not available, AFAIK.
Now, post-update, that setting is found in "Developer Options". (Why?????? LOL)
On an unrelated note, post-update, another bug has apparently been taken care of for the T-Mobile US version :
T-Mobile bloatware apps now stay disabled, if chosen to do so. Pre-update, they would re-appear after a reboot.
With these bug fixes, my outlook on keeping this phone has definitely changed for the positive. I still have about 10 days remaining before T-Mobile's buyer's remorse return window closes.
