the battery manager comes by default in android 9, I guess all the roms based on 9 are integrated, you'll have to look for it better. In PE and HAVOC it is in settings / battery / battery manager

Yes it's there in my rom too. So the battery manager and adaptive battery is same. I don't think so. because battery manager stops apps which consume more battery but adaptive battery hibernates apps.which aren't being used frequently. It's more like greenify .

Battery Drain
Hi,
I have some issues concerning the battery drain. As I dont use the cellular connections, I turned on flight mode and enabled WiFi manually. I also setup the WiFi to turn off while the Tablet is in StandBy. Still I an loosing about 1% battery per hour. Within the old 4.1.2 ROM, this was far better. I just wanted to check if others experience the same and this is normal with KitKat or if there is some setting which ensures an improved behavior within deepsleep (asuming that my device will go into deepsleep, didnt check).
Thanks for all the answers and a big thank to all the guys behind this rom. I really like it!!

KitKat for our device is not a really good build compared to JB. I suggest you to try Ultra Power Saving Mode to reduce the drain caused by other apps and system services.

Yeah, I guess I could do that, but the ultra power saving mode has a gray scale theme and also only a limited number of apps which can be used. Thats like buying a BMW and then replacing the enginge and putting in pedals instead.
My guess is, that the device does not properly enter deep sleep. Within deep sleep, the device should not waste more than 1%-2% overnight.
How can I check if the device enters deep sleep?

I meant that you can do this to reduce the drain when you don't use the tablet. Anyway download CPU spy and check deep sleep. I suggest you to use greenify to freeze background services and improve deep sleep time.

I also thought about a wakelock. Well greenify tells me that there are no bg processes to be stopped. I also used 'ds battery saver', which worked well on my i9001 and should force the device to go into deepslepp, which did not work.
I will have a look at this tomorrow. I guess i can use adb to check the wakelock (suggestions welcome

Get yourself Halogen Kernel which is good at power saving and never use DS Battery Saver ( It actually uses a lot of battery to kill apps ) . I would also recommend you to move to CM 13 .Because It's a very light Custom ROM with no bloatware except a few essentials. I usually had a decent battery life in my STOCK ROM ( provided by MOTOROLA OTA ) . When i flashed CM 13 . It increased my Battery life by a average of extra 3 Hours ....

Epic Rom Pro vs Resurrection Remix?

Hi guys,
I've been on the Epic Rom Pro for quite a while now, I have started seeing some new roms pop up and i'm not really clear as to how they differ, specifically it looks like the Resurrection Remix rom has a ton of posts/activity.
How do these two roms differ? I'm looking for something that is mostly stable with a minimum of bugs, but I certainly like customization...
Thanks!
Sry for my bad English.
I have use two rom for a while enough to tell something for you. Both Epic and RR are stable enough for daily using. If i want Miui, I will using Epic 8.2.1.0 cause Xposed. Xposed + Mi8Tweak modul very great for custom. If you want nougat, RR is best choise for now. Miui on 7.0 mean no xposed, and RR has alot of great option for custom your phone.

Thank you for your reply. I am already on Nougat as Epic Rom Pro is now Nougat based, I do miss xposed, but I can live without it.
So both are now Nougat based. Are they both Miui based? or is Resurrection based on plain Android?

RR, DU, LOS these are as you said 'plain Android' based roms, they don't look like Miui. All of them 7.x.x based as well and the RR rom -is the one which has lots of features- gets updated Weekly/Daily. If you're not a miui lover, not an xposed addict; you should go for RR. If you consider flashing any of those; be careful and read about encryption**

Oh, so RR is AOSP based? No Xiaomi stuff at all? That sounds excellent.
So on RR is Encryption on by default? Yuck! I assume we can turn it off?
I do like Xposed, but Epic Pro is Android 7 now, so Xposed doesn't work on that one anyways now.

Folks say so, encryption comes by default. Perhaps the dm-verity disabler zip would prevent it to get encrypted. Because this thing sucks, asks pin after reboot, in recovery etc. Reboot takes longer time and so on. Also you have to format data which means entire device to get rid of encryption. Transferring my files took 3 hours to be done after i remove 75gb data from my device, gross.

Well i just tried Resurrection Remix. Yeah, Encrypted by default. Doesn't appear to be any way to turn it off. Ok, I guess that's fine.
However it doesn't come rooted. And it looks like SuperSU isn't the way to do it any more. So no root is a problem for sure.
I'll flash back to Epic for now. I didn't really understand the whole Magisk thing...
RR stock DPI was 480, so big, lol..

I'm sure it can be, but not with the usual SuperSU way, I didn't really have time to go figure out how to get root all setup. I assumed the rom was pre-rooted which i'm not sure it is.
Plus once I went back to Epic Rom, it appears that my Data partition stays encrypted so I have to put my pin in at each boot. - Not cool at all..
So, for now I am staying away from RR until Encryption isn't forced on me and its Rooted out of the box.
I've tried RR but I do not like stock android feel and lack of... well lack of MIUi. For all its faults, I just love MIUi IU and many of its basic features. Didn't like substratum either and the necessity of using third party launchers to modify grids and icons...
Anyway, so far Epic Pro is working really well for me.
Regarding encryption... I had not paid any attention to it when I flashed RR... What does it entail? It stays when you go back to Epic??
Thanks!

Just wanted to understand, why does everyone show hate to encryption here? How is it bad, besides pin at boot and tiny bit slow at opening apps and other tasks?

Yes with magisk for root and something else I forgotten, something about xiaomi safety net. Plenty of threads and very easy, as a side note official LOS released and is very stable, doubt you will want miui after trying this. Although it's not in ROM section of XDA its in guides and news.

Oh yeah that's the same procedure for RR. Magisk plus Xiaomi safety net.
I don't want to leave EPIC/MIUI because it's still smoother than any of the CM-type ROMs. I rarely get any stuttering/slowdown compared to RR/Lineage. Even when I use kernel overclocking (DragonXia), which should make it perform better, the Antutu scores (and general responsiveness) still don't match MIUI. Also, I'd lose some features that I like
- Pulling down to hide the dock. Sounds like a very minor feature but I love being able to quickly dismiss the dock when I'm in an app for a more immersive experience, especially since we have software buttons and not hardware ones
- Quick ball, so I can still work with the dock hidden
- Native call recording (I own the skvalex call recorder app so this isn't a huge deal)
- Themes. I know themes are part of pretty much every ROM but I just prefer the MIUI layout
- Second space. Very useful for having a second instance of an app that's separate from your main one
The performance is still the main MIUI draw though.
There are other minor niggles with RR/LOS like no unlock sound on FP scanner and slower to unlock with it. I believe there is still an issue with the speakerphone/echo too.
Problems that I have with MIUI would be
- No Smart Unlock for location (annoying that I can't have it unlocked at frequently visited places), nor does it work with bluetooth in my car
- No previews/functionality for some notifications (mainly Gmail), so i have to open every email to see if it's worth reading, *and* I can't delete/archive it from the notification either. Big waste of time
- Doesn't currently pass safetynet so it's impossible to use some apps like Snapchat. Doesn't seem to matter which Magisk version I use, still no luck
- Using Nova Launcher, sometimes it'll take a few seconds to load the home screen icons if I have been away from it for a while. I assume this is down to the aggressive killing of background apps in MIUI. I tried the persistent option in Nova but it didn't seem to make any difference and couldn't see a way to whitelist it in MIUI
What if I go back to an MM-based version of EPIC? If I do that I'll be able to get the smart unlock working via Xposed and it'll pass safetynet (as far as I can see), but would I lose anything?
If I go back to RR, is there a way to toggle the dock on/off like MIUI? Can I get an unlock sound for the FP scanner? As for the performance issues, I delete all the perf-related files as I do on EPIC and match the settings in Kernel Auditor but it still lags behind (~140k compared to ~155k in Antutu) and with the UI/apps in general.
Pros for RR/Lineage:
-Stock AOSP looks
-Interactive notifications
-Notification icons on status bar much more clear
-Much less bloatware
-No "MIUI optimizations" that kill performance (although you can turn these off in MIUI, still annoying)
-Ambient display
-Better spaced Nav bar buttons
-Nav bar color doesn't flicker between screens
-Default camera has slow-mo and lens blur
-Pass safetynet (use android pay, pokemon go, etc)
-Multiwindow
-customize nav button actions
-Flashlight shortcut with screen off
-Custom kernel available (dragonxia)
Pros for MIUI:
-Screen turns on much quicker when power button pressed
-Fingerprint reader much faster
-Front facing camera flips images by default
-Better battery life
-Screen gets brighter and dimmer
-Auto brightness works properly
-Microphone works on speaker phone
Hardware works better on MIUI, software works better on RR/Lineage. The wake lag on Lineage/RR was a dealbreaker for me, but god is MIUI software bad.

Never had that encryption problem on RR or going back to Epic... Strange.
For my test a blend would be the perfect thing: basically all Epic plus the various customizations settings' option from RR :victory:
Would that be so difficult or impossible to build? I mean not for me, I know nothing of the actual stuff, but for one of those good developers that own the Mix and love a good challenge Or not so good, maybe it'd be easier than I imagine...

Does LineageOS miss any significant features compared to OOS?

I want to do factory reset because of android system using too much battery and just thought of trying lineageos since I'm wiping everything anyways.
I know camera quality is worse and live display isn't as good as night mode, but is there anything else?
Sultanxda's Lineage OS has almost the same camera quality as Oxygen OS.
Not much, and still you can get away with less battery usage ? unless you're using some power hefty apps or try to many energy saving things which will cause the opposite.
Also camera quality issues can be solved by using either Sultans camera mod (available as recovery zip file) or CameraNX which I use.
And I don't see whats so much better with OOS night mode. LOS is quite customizable when it comes to color temperature.

On the contrary, the latest version has battery idle drain problems.Apart from this problem, this is almost the perfect ROM
Thanks to multiboot, I made a lot of comparisons between OOS (betas and stables) and Lineage OS, and I can say that OOS is very stable, is more battery saving and is much more smooth.
On the contrary, LOS is more customisable, but for me one feature is missing in LOS roms: the possibility to have a different ringtone for each SIM.
The one thing I find to be incredibly annoying is that there is no way to disable the heads-up notifications from appearing on the screen when you are using the phone on OOS. There is no 'mid' priority mode in the app notification settings that you can set which allows sound/vibration and the icon in the status bar but disables the interruption. There is also no status bar shortcut for quickly enabling and disabling the headsup notifications in OOS. But this feature can be found in LineageOS and I miss it the most.

I was wondering about that.. I flashed it on a full charge and I'm at 87% with no usage at all. Flashed and sat.. was going to get everthing set up but I'm concerned if I even should at this point. That's a lot of drain after doing this while plugged in ... in my experience anyway. I know LTE uses a lot of battery but after only about 2 hours off the charger and on Wifi, that's odd to me. Hmmmm...

Well, when i was on evox, it was more buggy, battery life was worse, and i had to try like 5 times to unlock with a fingerprint, fod was just bad, also i couldnt unlock with fod on low brightness, but havoc had none of these issues, on havoc i got better battery life, like 11hrs sot from 100 to 0%, fod is perfect, and its more stable. And I was facing random reboots on evo x tho

JUst My OpInOn. i dont wanna argue bout which roms are better and so on . I think it depends on user, but one thing is obvious. everyone is too lazy to try every single rom

Active can get 11hrs of sot almost in any Rom if all you do is play videos in YouTube. Also I'm using evox , fingerprint is working perfectly fine even in low brightness.
Hi.
Is AOSP rom has "3-fingerprint swipe to screenshot" function?

Los 17 has it, so any other aosp rom has it too.
There's so many great ROMs just go and try them yourself. EvoX gets a lot of updates and gets better and better with everyone, also a ton of customization. Havoc gets frequent updates and has a lot of customization too. Pixel Experience if you want a clean OS with little to no customization. Paranoid Android has a lot of great features and just got released. ExtendedUI is awesome if you're bored or AOSP and want something new and refreshing.
I've had a bad experience with all AOSP roms in the past, as they all suffer from the same bugs, and still do a year later:
-The home gesture often stops working in recents.
-When you do go home, for about a second, the launcher is unresponsive to taps.
-On havoc, disabling the visible gesture bar stoos the back gesture from working.
-Oh havic, the volume control doesn't work for the popout YouTube window.
I've just tried Pixel Experience and Havoc os as of yesterday, they just don't have good quality control. But I do find them rather snappy compared to miui, however the battery life is noticibly worse.

EvoX seems to also have worse battery life, although turning off always on and location increased it very noticeably. Can't really compare it to miui since i haven't used it much. I wanted to ask if anyone knows, why the fod without always on display was removed? I swear it worked a few months ago.
Try Corvus

Then I just can't find it. Can you tell me the path to enable it in settings?

First you have to add fingerprint for lock screen, then you go to setting/display/locks creen display/ always on
Just bought K20P for a week, I already tested 2 roms which is EvoX and Corvus alongside with Immensity kernel
Overall performance and SOT, both are great
For FOD, Corvus gives way faster unlock speed and more accurate IMO
In terms of customization, I like Corvus better since it has more features which I need than Evo X does
