Have a stock note5 920c running latest firmware. Yesterday all of a sudden I am not able to swipe down the notification bar when I'm on the home screen. I can swipe down the bar when on lockscreen, and I can also use the spen to swipe down when on the home screen. So I know this isn't a hardware issue.
I have tried factory reset and I get the same behavior.
Any ideas?

Enjoying a fresh install of ICS, but becoming more and more annoyed at accidentally tapping the status bar that's now located at the bottom edge of the screen, just below the space bar when typing.
Ive hunted through the options and I'm sure I've just missed the right check box, but where/how can i return the status bar and the associated buttons/menus back to the traditional top of the screen and safely out of my typing reach?
Currently running SGT7 20120604 nightly.
thanks for the help.

I also want to know. I don't like bottom position.
Ditto, it's driving me crazy!
just change the resolution to 240dpi, you'll get into phone mode instead of tablet mode. Therefore you will get your status bar on the top.
If you mean by "ICS Buttons" is the soft keys of Navigation Bar, you can disable it from the system settings.
I am on AllianceROM XXLSC and I have this weird issue with my lockscreen. I have pattern unlock but randomly my lockscreen starts with swipe (even though that secondary option is disabled) and once I swipe it I only get 1/3 of the pattern (i.e the left 3 dots). I have to restart in order for it to get normal. I can't unlock my phone this way. Is anyone else having this issue? Any solutions.
I do have the ink lockscreen installed but I dont use it.
I did a full wipe and installed... still get this issue
HELP!
Using Z with locked bootloader, even if restore to any official factory rom the navigation buttons and top notification bar does not work. I think the problem started occur after trying rom that contains xposed then rolling back to official. Hardware wise the screen is fine. I know could use third party app to resolve my issue but how to restore default please?
Since yesterday evening I can not get the notification and settings drawer to expand no matter what I do. I does expand when I am in the home screen, but that is due to the swipe down gesture. In no other app of the phone I can not make it to expand. I did a full wipe of the phone but nothing has changed. I am in the latest software 10.2.2.0 stable and the phone is not rooted. Has it happened to any one of you guys?
Thanks
Hi
I bought a used Note 8 a few months back
Since last month, I cannot slide down the top notification bar with my fingers, but it works with the stylus.
Also, I have enabled slide down in the home, and it works.
But I can not slide down the notification bar when I'm in an app with my fingers, I use the stylus to drag down the notification bar.
What can be done?

Type *#0#* in phone dialer and do the touch test.
Open a draw app and draw a box by going along the edges of the screen and see if it responds to your finger.
BACKUP your phone and then try a factory reset.
If that fails most likely your screen is going bad.
You can use the fingerprint sensor to swipe down and up the notification panel. Settings/Advanced Features/ Motions and Gestures to find that option.
