Xiaomi MI5 Pro (128)

Hi guys,
I was wondering if any of you got the pro variant of the MI5, is it any good and how does the ceramic back feel, heard it was launching on 6th April, so 2 days ago, but can't find any record of this, no review, no news... Anyone has more info? Thanks!

2000 units was March the 30th when there was a flash sale of a Xiaomi mi5 special edition (a number was carved on the back of the phone)
For the other sale, they didn't mention how many, but I think it wasn't a lot because lots of chinese people were disappointed on the official forum

i bought a xiaomi mi5 pro i expect it to get sent after 10 days from now i hope i bought from aliexpress

Guys m bringing this thread back, people should have received their pro variants by now, so anyone to report on the feeling of the ceramic back? Is it any stiffer? Is it a better performer? What's the results of the different benchmark, and does it have a good battery life? Thank you!

Buy the 3T or wait for the 5?

Hi everyone, I have been stuck with this question for weeks now to no relief. I currently have the Oneplus 2 and outside of its quirks it has been a great phone. I have been wanting to upgrade to the OP3T but caught wind of the new OP5 launching supposedly in March.
The OP3T is finally available again but thought I would reach out here for your guys opinion first.

I'll see if I can find it again but from what I read, it said I would be released somewhere in Q1 of 2017. Thus my assumption put it around March. I know with these things are always a crap-shoot.

If ur budget will be around 40k till may then go for op5 but still there is a probability tht u will feel bad if they release op5T and u bought op5 .lol just kidding.. new model release will continue so if u wait u will have to wait forever .

You can always buy 3T, and when new one comes, sell the old one and buy the new one

Buy 3T. If 5 is better as Eremitus said you can sell it later

I would say to go for the 3T. Oneplus phones hold their value over time, so you should be able to recover 70% of your money in half a year.

Yeah, HIGHLY doubt it'll be available in March. They may announce in April or so but I'm sure it will still be a little while for availability. Oneplus has always struggled with having enough supply, so it may be late spring/early summer until you get it. If you're happy with the op2 and don't mind waiting 5-6 months for a new phone, then wait. But if you are ready to/need to update now, you can't go wrong with the 3t. Like other people said, worst case, you could sell it once the 5 is available.

If you're anything like me and get impatient of probably waiting 5 months then go for 3t. When new one is announced and release date is set you could start trying sell 3t and get the 5. Just my opinion. I'll probably take my own advice and get 5 later on.

You have to wait for the S8...

Been using the OP3T for a week now and it so, so close to being the best phone of 2016 apart from 2 big issues (for me). No QHD display and a poor camera. If the OP5 has these it'll be a real flagship killer.

I'm still waiting for mine to come in, but I heard news/rumors that they were thinking of making the 5 a 5.3" screen instead of 5.5", which in my opinions would be better. I think 5.3"; in terms of holding a phone comfortably in your hand is the perfect size.

Dang I have this dilemma too, should I wait for the 5 or get the 3T now. I want the 3T badly, and don't want to wait for the 5, but the 5 looks like it will be a real flagship killer. I've heard rumors of it having a QHD display, with 8GB RAM and the Snapdragon 835. What should I do?

I've been eying the mi mix. Screen to body ratio is crazy. If it get some ROMs I might just get on board

It looks like this site has them in stock and ready to ship. I don't understand why it takes soooo long for these phones to get shipped out if they are in stock. Any way the site shows they have the 128Gb version available too, however the price for that is more than on the manufacturers page.

But you're right, this is a horrible decission, my phone is broken and I've been waiting for the OP5 midnight black to come back in stock for 2 weeks, only because of this useless partnership. I hope they sell very poorly.

It's a nice idea. I like it very much.

This is crap! Another excuse by OnePlus to do virtually nothing and charge you more money. It's no wonder you can find this phone on sale ($416.00 at Gearbest with OP5SAVER code). From the 3->3T->5, improvements have been minimal turning Never Settle into Always Settle.

I ordered a grey OP5 just before the hype of the announcement (still waiting for it to be delivered), but I quite like the new coloured button design. I'n not too sure about the back, but then I always use a case anyway.

OnePlus (More likely Carl Pei) really are becoming far too pretentious, you're a small company not a niche company. Stick to what's important and stop getting sidetracked with pointless attention seeking ventures.

You weren't relading the pre-release announcements very closely then. A OnePlus 5T wouldn't be limited edition, would it? The speculation from tech writers was not only 100% that it would be something like this but the specific company OnePlus was in partnership with was known weeks ago.

5T? For what?
OP5 is about 3 months old and already has 2 months old security patch on OOS. They would support 2 flagships even more slowly. I can see a lot of potential in this phone, so I hope Oneplus is smart enough to focus on this one atm.

I suggest then you ask yourself, "Why are they willing to charge Europeans so much more?" Go to the bottom of the page and select USD for currency and you will see the price difference. If the US version supports your bands used in Europe, I would convert some € to $ and buy the US version. That is if you still want to do business with them.

OxygenOS 9.5.7 update available for 5G model

There's a new update our for the 5G variant, 9.5.7
It adds very little and quite frankly is a bit of a disgrace - this "update" is still the June path level and to make matters worse the feature disparity between the 4G & 5G is widening!

seems to be an issue with network jumping from 1-5 bars continuously every 10-15 secs others have seen same might be worth holding off of you haven't updated already

Which do you think is the majority device? Yeah so that's the one they'll dev for first. That's the risk of getting into technology at launch, exactly why I didn't bother with the 5g version, wait until it's properly bedded in and the norm.

I bought out mine, kept phone..went with Vodafones 5G unlimited deal...free spotify for a year makes my bill £26pm

Apparently there's an ongoing issue with the patch they were going to release, hence the delay. If it was me, I'd be happier with a working phone than an updated, mebbe insecure, mebbe glitchy phone. They have said the patch will be coming soon, presumably to bring it to parity with the 4G models.

I told them the phone wasn't fit for purpose as advertised features still didn't work properly, and the continued lack of updates made me question whether they ever would.
OnePlus' silence when it comes to answering queries or support tickets about the 5G is inexcusable - they clearly aren't interested in this phone variant, and I doubt it will ever gain parity with the (lesser) 4G variant.
I'm either going to get a Note 10 or Mate 30 when they're available - I know the Note 10 can do 5G and I almost guarantee that the Mate 30 will too!

How can you go to 60Hz after using 90Hz? I went to a local phone shop to see the Note 10(+), but just because of its 60Hz screen I wouldn't buy it. Period. It just feels sluggish and laggy. All the animations feel as if they are capped because of the 60Hz display.

I'm looking forward to a phone where the main features actually work! If I have to sacrifice a bit of screen refresh in order to have a functioning phone, then so be it!

lier company samsung promised to release one ui2.0 and android 10 updates by 1st january 2020 to some phones like the A30.
but still nothing.
then there was the news that updates were postponed to march 2020.
i dont believe that any phone of samsung will get android 10 update. this company is a totally lie. no software support, full of bugs and bloatware.
their only aim is selling crap phones to new customers by flood marketing, and marketing lies.

if you do your reasearch properly samsung have already released for A30 and A50s, but only some varients and regions.. be patient!
A70 will come soon, but also some varients and regions will get it first before others

Looks to me like they released the update by accident. Yesterday I could see the OTA was available on this site but now it's back to the latest Android 9-update. It's also not available for manual download unfortunately (checked with Frija-downloader and on Sammobile). This would normally have been available the day after releasing the OTA. Hope it will return soon...
