From what I read its the opposite, s5 is 800 and z2 is 801
Edit: sonymobile website says it's MSM8974AB, which is S800. Maybe it's a mistake? We'll know soon enough.

dont think there's a hell of a difference between the two anyway, the form factor is the same apparently. With that in mind (if that's the case) I hardly think it's worth the leap, unless the extra gig of RAM would merit spending 600 quid on a phone you already have.
Once a year is more than enough for a company to release a phone, all this 5 phones a year crap is ridiculous.

I don't know, the spec page says MSM8974AB which is 800. 801 is MSM8974AC
Also why would they go from 2.2 to 2.3 if it's a 801, since it can go up to 2.5?

Probably just a typo error. Even the website stated that Z2 is having 3000 mAh instead of 3200. People who were in MWC confirmed that the device is using 801.
Anyway, it probably doesnt make much difference since in the website itself it is stated that "xxxAB". The differences between "xxxAB" and "xxxAC" is really definitely not noticeable.
Been with sony with quite sometime, Sony tend to go with "safer" side, for eg: if the chip allows 2.5ghz, they would lower it for cooler and better battery life. Samsung on the other hand, tend to max out of it. lol.
Look at Xperia Z, default of snapdragon s4 pro is 1.7, but they choose to clock it at 1.5.

They are all s800 with different variants...
1st gen in our z1
2nd gen in z2
And
3rd gen in s5

1. Qualcomm have told Sony that the AB chipset can be advertised as the S801 and Sony has gone ahead and done tha.
2. Sony have used the wrong chipset code and are actually using the AC version.
Either way, the AB and AC chipsets are closer to each other in terms of performance than the original S800 chipset so the Z2 will fly either way.

Ah thank you for the link.
I was excited about the Z2 and then this thread comes up and I was like, what? Same chipset as the Z1?!
But this cleared it up and Z2 is right back on the table.

Well, there is only a marginal difference between 2nd and 3rd gen. Samsung are intent on rocking the useless benchmark tests, that's completely okay by me.

It appears the Z2 has the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 while the S5 has the 2.5GHz variant of the SD801. The latter should give about 10% performance advantage, I dunno if there will be a difference between a 2.3GHz SD800 and 2.3GHz SD801. Matters not really, it's all about optimization, my Nexus 4 is snappier than the Z1 and Note3.

as far as i am concerned the only reason the 801 exists is that the 805 is not ready and all these new manufacturers wanted a "new" chip set in their phones so sd gave them an over clocked sd 800 with a new name. check put this anandtech article.

Under my experience on the Nexus 4, KitKat is great for consistent battery performance.

So true. 4.1.1 gave the best battery life, 4.1.2 a litterateur le bit worse but still very good, but 4.3 is disaster. Battery drains so hard even no wakelock! So I had to rollback to 4.1.2 with my lovely Perseus kernel. Hope a change in Kitkat update.

I watched this video but I can't take his findings seriously as all the battery stats he showed weren't accurate representations. He didnt charge the device to 100% and then he re-charged it as some random time not allowing the stats to reset.

As I mentioned it on mycolorscreen page N3XTRYK homescreen supports multicolor, and now I've heard about ZW utilities app, where you can change zw widgets colors so you don't need tasker tasks. All you have to do is to download this app (free) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.thinkkwer.zwutilities then tap + and type "COL" and choose your colour. Cheers!

Just as a tip: you can export your color profile and share that file so the users don't have to add the color variables by hand. Just open the nav drawer and select export.

Choppy performance..?

I'm using the new p30 pro from last 2 days and I'm noticing very choppy performance. For example, on the YouTube app, when you press the full screen icon, you'll see the animation in frames before it enlarges the video.. Some scrolling on chrome browser too, I have noticed a lot of choppy frames. Not sure if I'm missing some performance setting or if everyone else also is noticing this..? I'm on 118 version.

I have 2 P30 Pro and on MI 9 and P30 Pro ist very fast on all time, Apps, Games, Not have single problem. Antutu 321.000 and apps open or YouTube is all fast.

Faulty device or you have a software bug. Try factory reset then if its the same ask for a replacement

I have exactly the same problem. Youtube and chrome too. It come and goes though. Its not persistent. I can not recreate it either.

Just ran the antutu benchmark.. Overall score shows 204452.. Shall I ask for a replacement..? Or try factory reset..?

i also have problems with youtube but antutu is almost 300k. didnt try chrome
EDIT:i put the phone in performance mode(optimiser->battery->performance mode) and now antutu is ~315-320k but the stuttering didnt go away.

No, from that you realise its the app that is not optimized. At least if the benchmark doesn't lie. And maybe you look at earlier comments, i was not the first one to post antutu score and only posted that to show that its not a faulty unit.

What software version are you on? i read somewhere 113 gets really bad performance.

No in normal mode (default). I'll check on performance mode and let you guys know. People who are saying antutu score of 300k, is it on performance mode only..? Thanks for your help!

Hi lads, let me start... Comin from op6t, i couldn't resist the temptation for op7 pro, bought op7 pro in nebula blue 8gb 256gb, directly from Oneplus

Early last month my 5T's rear camera died so this morning I ordered the Nebula Blue. Phone should arrive Monday or Tuesday

More likely tue or wed, i think was to be dispatched by 20th fingers crossed

Ordered nebula blue 8gb/256 gb. Coming from samsung note 9.

Ordered nebula blue 8/256 this morning should get it 22nd may

Ordered 12/256 nebula blue, should also get it on 22nd, also getting it delivered to work so I dont have to wait till home time

U be better using likes of paypal credit, grab the phone sim free and sim only contract, mines is vodafone 15 quid a Month, plenty data

I don't mind contract deal, I'm on £54 with 50gb data and Spotify

No idea with oneplus, using paypal 4 months i think myself, haven't had any issues in the past, but i reckon nothin to worry mate, just pay it off within that period..

I'm waiting Amazon UK add oneplus 7 pro on their website so make an order the nebula blue 256 version because I have gift balance available on it.

Will be ordering my 12/256gb next week, missed the community drop, but I must say I like what OnePlus have done with the pro, other than their refusal to use wireless charging, for something like the Pro it really should have been present , despite their "personal stance".
Maybe that will come with the 7T Pro......
Either way I'm happy enough to place my order......it's one of the best with oxygenOS, 12gb Ram, stunning display, build and design, development, updates......I'm a supporter of OnePlus I have had all their devices, and many from other OEM's also, Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppp, they are all doing great things and innovation in Android is very much alive.
OnePlus try to hit the mark on the important features , the user experience in the operating system, Scrolling, opening app, ram management, fluidity, now finally combining that with a really impressive QHD Display.
Even though the price has gone up and they are now obviously trying to forget about the affordability to an extent, (meaning entering the premium top end segment) I think with the Pro it comes very close, but they need to work on the Camera, and implement wireless charging, if they fully intend on doing so.
But from the Shenzhen company, credit where it's due, it's a stellar device and one I'm looking forward to putting it through it's paces.
