If you have N950F Duos like me its pretty easy to root on Android Pie
Just download latest TWRP 3.2.1.0 or newest and put TAR file in Odin make sure you have OEM enabled in developer options...after that flash TWRP but after phone goes black you need press VOL+ Bixby and Power or just Vol+ and Bixby you need be fast....when you in TWRP swipe to allow modifications...than go and flash Magisk 18.1 latest ZIP....you need it have on SDCARD before start anything...if you got any error like "cant mount data" you need go first to WIPE and there wipe data its ask to type YES this format your phone and delete internal storage....
Magisk work fine no problems and twrp to. Good luck.

Please help me.
The phone is working but i think twrp is broken idk please help.
Thanks
Thanks!
who can, adapt to SM-J530FM recovery ???
(FM - version)
Does it work on the dual sim model?
Does it work on J530F/DS? The dual sim model, thanx in advance
Not working -- UNSTABLE !!!
Yesterday I've followed this root guide to root my J530F (NOT Pro-edition, NOT dual sim) and it worked great but for short time. The first root app I've installed is "Root Checker" to confirm that root is installed correctly - and it was. Then I was installing "Lucky Patcher" app and there was no prompt for root access from SuperSU. I went back to "RootChecker" it was telling me that my root is not available.
Then I rebooted my phone and I got famous Samsung "Black screen of death" - J5 logo appears and then blank, nothing on the screen. I got in Download mode without a problem, re-flashed my firmware (AP) and works fine.
Now it feels stupid, while I triggered KNOX to 0x1 and I don't have a root. I haven't tried this TWRP recovery because I'm afraid that it won't work and that I'll have to format my phone again and start from the beggining.
It is very important that you guys share your experience, so the other knows if this is working or not.
Anyone tried this custom TWRP Recovery???

I've just tried to install TWRP over stock firmware (not rooted) and I got bootloop. I can enter TWRP, but Android can't start. I guess I will wait for some time while stable custom recovery is released. I use this phone everyday, so I can't deal with all of these problems...
In my case root and recovery from this post is not working.
Hope there will be official solution soon.
Thanks!
Guys, someone please help, i have J5 PRO 2017 SM-J530G, i did a search on all XDA and did not found twrp for my model "G", found only for models Y and F, so i must ask if that version exists, and where i can find it ! Second question would be, if i can't find one especifically for G model, if i can use Y or F model of twrp ! thanks in advance for someone that can help !

Same problem in my case.
Hi. I have problems with the Google Assistant after rooting it. It stucks after telling it a command and suddenly crashes. Why does anything to do this with the root? Google Assistant and root haven't any relationship!!! I also have problems with an app called HelloTalk because it stucks in the chat screen too.
I had to flash my phone back to Stock ROM, because it gets stable again.
Thank you!

That web page is false. The same creator of the application has confirmed it in his thread
I think you should reference and post the links to the author's thread and not to a third-party page.

I don´t think it´s TWRP. I did the sames steps from global stable rom to miui9 beta eu rom. I rooted with magisk from TWRP and it works.
Maybe you´ll try to root with magisk it works also.
Edit: Don´t forget to Wipe Cache and Art / Dalvik!

Follow that guide. After you get TWRP installed flash your favorite root manager. I use SuperSU because I hate Magisk but flash whatever you prefer.
Just hard reboot your phone by holding the power button for 20 seconds

[Guide] [SM-T350] Root and Update Galaxy Tab A 8.0 to ANDROID PIE

I am not responsible for bricked devices, or any other hardware malfunctions that come as a result of flashing anything. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it
Hey everyone,
I am writing this guide because I spend all day trying to figure out how to upgrade my grandma's tablet from android 7 TouchWiz to android 9 pie. I did not create any of the files that I am about to link just putting all the info in one place because I feel it's needed.
Before starting my grandam's tablet was running android 7.0 TouchWiz. So if you are in the same situation do the following.
Download the following
Odin3-v3-10-7
SM-T350 Marshmallow Firmware (check second post for faster mirror)
TWRP-3.2.1
PIE ROM of Choice
Open Gapps (Remember Platform: ARM | Android Version : 9.0| Variants: Your Choice)
Root (Optional): Magisk
Instructions
1. Put your tablet in download mode by turning it off then pressing and hold [Power] [Vol-Down] & [Home] at the same time till a cyan warning screen appear.
2. Press Volume Up to Continue.
3. Connect the Tablet to the computer via USB stick
4. Extract the Odin and Marshmallow Firmware zip files and place it on the desktop
5. Run Odin and make sure you can see your device
6. Click on [AP] button and find the marshmallow firmware. Let Odin verify the file (take a second) then click start to begin the flashing process
7. After flashing the firmware the tablet will reboot and just wait for the welcome screen.
8. In the welcome screen skip everything till you get to the home screen then turn the tablet off and put it back into download mode (see step 1)
9. Now your tablet should still be connected to the computer and Odin should still be open.
10. In Odin go to the second tab (OPTIONS) and uncheck Auto Reboot (VERY IMPORTANT)
11. Now click on the [AP] button and find the TWRP zip file then click start to flash it
12. After the flashing process has been successful press and hold [Power] [Vol-Down] & [Home] to reboot. AS SOON AS THE SCREEN GOES BLACK LET GO OFF THE BUTTONS AND PRESS AND HOLD [POWER] [VOL-UP] and [ HOME] AT THE SAME TIME.
13. If you did it right you should be in TWRP. If not you have to repeat step 11 and 12
14. Make a NANBACKUP in TWRP and copy it to your computer
15. After that copy the PIE ROM and GAPP of your choice. (MAGISK IF YOU WANT ROOT) to the internal memory card or sd card whichever you have. I don't have an SD card so I copied it to the internal memory
16. In TWRP Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache. (Recommended)
17. Flash the ROM, GAPPS
18. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
19. Reboot your device.
Thanks to @lividhen99 for the post that I got all this info
Thanks to everyone who creates and ported recoveries and ROM to this device. My grandma appreciated it ( we both hate TouchWiz)
PS. I will eventually come back and make a mirror of the marshmallow firmware file because it is so long and slow. If anyone wants to beat me to it please do
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1WyafpwMlGbBmocWhwhHxcrtgS0mFpoes
Heres a google drive mirror.
Is there a 64 bit version of Android Pie for the SM-T350? After following these instructions I couldn't install the 64 bit version of GApps, said it was not compatible. Is that a holdover from the Marshmallow firmware? The SM-T350 supposedly has an ARM 64bit processor so you'd think it could take the 64 bit GApps install but after these updates it shows that it'e the 32 bit version of Pie. I know I'm kind of rambling here but I guess you can follow what I'm trying to do. Thanks!
is this compatible with the sm-p355?
Is it necessary to do this from Marshmallow 6? Will this procedure work for Nougat 7.1.1?

It should technically work, but if you get a black screen, downgrade to marshmallow and try again. Not all devices need to be downgraded, and nobody knows why
Great, thanks for the info! This sounds like a, great summer project while we are all locked in quarantine.

This is a thread on how to install roms on this device, it provides no roms besides the marshmallow one to fix the black screen issue.
Trying to get this to work, everything is fine until I try to load the new ROM and GAps, it's giving me error 7, specifically this:
- Confirming target device...
mount: Failed to mount /dev/block/by-name/vendor at /vendor: No such
file or directory
ui_print(): Failed to parse the argument(s)
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7

What partitions did you wipe?
I might be a little late posting here but I am currently trying this with the SM-T350 that came with 7.1.1 and for some reason when I load the Marshmallow firmware to my tablet it never actually boots, it gets as far as flashing the Samsung logo on a black background then says Touchwiz.exe has encountered an error. Am I doing something wrong? I am following the instructions word for word as far as I can tell.
The marshmallow firmware never has to boot. If you want it to boot, factory reset (wipe data and dalvik cache). But you wipe system data and cache anyway when you install a rom.

Basically I just want to use TWRP to flash Magisk and use it to spoof for Pokemon Go. I did it previously on a Galaxy S5 but I never had a problem booting into the OS and just turning the phone off when I wanted to boot into recovery mode (TWRP) so I don't really know what I am doing but I am assuming I need it to boot normally for magisk to root the device. Unfortantely when I try to flash TWRP with the 7.1.1 firmware that comes stock on the device recovery just boots to a black screen so searching around has led me to the conclusion I need to downgrade to Marshmallow then try flashing TWRP but I never expected it to not boot normally xD Sorry this is a bit outside of my technical knowledge to say the least.

I believe I understand what I need to do now. I managed to load into TWRP so at that point I can just flash any rom and use magisk to root. Any particular one you might suggest? Thanks for all the help by the way!

OH! Well, now that you have that specific version of twrp booted, I would recomend either lineage os or crdroid for the SM-T350. If you just want stock Samsung, you can reflash the stock 7.1.1 firmware and grab the Nougat twrp for the sm-T355 from ashyx's galaxy tab a twrp page here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/development/recovery-t3426560 . It will boot on Nougat (7.1.1) but it cannot flash android pie (9.0) or Q (10.0) roms. It can still flash magisk though.
Crdroid (I released a newer build on the second to last page ?): https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/development/rom-galaxy-tab-8-0-t3912517/page32
Lineage: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-a/development/rom-t3903258/page31
If you do end up flashing a custom rom, just wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik cache. Then flash the ROM zip, the gapps zip, and the magisk tnstaller zip. Just remember to enable magisk hide to pass safetynet whether you go custom rom, or not.
If you want the marshmallow firmware to boot, I think just wipe cache and dalvik cache. If that doesn't work, wipe data.
Wiping data will delete all your apps and settings and passwords, etc. It is essentially a factoy reset.

the device isnt capable of running ARM64 however you can find regular ARM variants of lineageOS (what i used instead of flashing the stock firmware) and of gapps. my galaxy tab a (sm-t350) now runs android 10 and gapps 10.0 full, through this guide. just ignore the first software package and continue with the guide.
help! flashed from stock firmware (i don't remember version)...after a lot of time, is in the wizard section with a lot of error (unfortunately the process xxx has stopped), and the tablet reboot...what should i do?

[GUIDE] Root Galaxy A50s with Magisk v19.3 ( Custom Channel Update )

This Root method use Custom Channel Update for Magisk v19.3 by patching to AP tar file. Magisk v19.3 worked stable on Galaxy A50s. As we know latest Magisk version v20.x did not work for Galaxy A50s with random bootloop problem. We can not install Magisk v19.3 normally wihout TWRP recovery, but with Custom Channel Update make it possible. Follow these steps:
1. Download the firmware Galaxy A50s that match with your A50s Model number.
2. Unzip the firmware and copy the AP tar file to your device. It is normally named as AP_[device_model_sw_ver].tar.md5. Copy 3. AP tar file and MagiskManager.apk to your phone.
3. Install Magisk Manager on your phone
4. Open Magisk - Settings - Update Channel select Custom in the custom URL write "https://github.com/topjohnwu/magisk_files/raw/3dec54c8a850660e3420f7668c7fb6dc8f7c199b/stable.json" then refresh Magisk by switch down the screen.* You will see Latest magisk is v19.3.
5. In Magisk Manager: Install → Install → Select and Patch a File
6. Select the AP tar file. Magisk Manager will patch the whole firmware file and store the output to [Internal Storage]/Download/magisk_patched.tar. Copy magisk_patched.tar the tar file to your PC
7. Reboot to Bootloader: Turn Power Off. Press and hold Volume Up key + Power Key, When Samsung Logo appears release Power Key only, keep pressing Volume Up key until Android Recovery Mode Appears. Select Wipe data / Factory reset. Select Reboot to bootloader. Connect the phone to PC using USB Cable.
8. Make sure the boot loader are unlocked ( OEM options is enabled with grey color )
9. Flash magisk_patched.tar as AP in ODIN, together with the BL, CP and HOME_CSC files.

I think you can do that for your A20s, you just need change the firmware with your A20s firmware.

it's depend on what you use after root.
but SafetyNet is now failed at ctsProfile due to Google changed its method recently, so you can't use bank apps and Netflix.

issues flashing combination rom

hello fellas , i have s10 ,problem : always booting up to recovery mode ( couldn`t find solution for it )
,,,, oem is locked and there is no way i can flash twrp or custom rom off course ( btw i am noob)
i tried flashing combination rom using odin ( just to enable usb debugging ) but many msesages of (please get the approval ) for pit ,bootloader, system ...etc
googled the issue , found someone saying it is sort of protection that requires unique key should be requested from samsung
So , how can in bypass it to make successful combination rom flashing ?
any extra files needed plus to the combination rom and pit file ?
please help me out
note : repeat: my phone is oem locked , at flashing stock rom is success but reboots directly to recovery mode ...this is my major problem ,
if anyone can post me sm-g973f (bit15) adb enabler file ?????
it might help
if you guys can hand me in either of those it will be deeply appreciated
thank you all
giants....does combination flashing successful with test points ? and where can i find them inside s10 ?
Hello Rossen, since you have no experience in this area, I know a lot of things that I took the simplest for my S10 exons SM-G973 F. Installation. John WU the official firmware with magisk modify AP official firmware that you transfer to your S10, then once do you transfer magisk patches with Adb to your PC with Adb pull.
Then with Odin you flash the following 4 files BL-AP magisk patched-Cp-Home CSC you let start, you open magisk active Zygisk restarted if rooted...
I forgot TRWP even if I managed once to install it with magisk then bugs and loss of rooting following updating magisk, normally to install TRWP you must already be rooted with magisk then install TRWP either by modify TRWP image with magisk or by the managed TRWP application you directly flash the TRWP image of the application.

thanks for reply , sadly the device can take only the stock rom , any custom will be rejected due to oem lock , and if i flashed stock one it will boot up to recovery not the system ,
So you haven't done the unlocking of oem well you can't do anything, the best thing to do is redo these cleanly you reflash the official rom then you unlock your S10 you press power plus bixby and you connect to the pc, then you press and hold volume up and unlocking is done.
Then you will restart as at the first start you install magisk, activate developer mode about the phone press on low version 7 times then in developer you activate USB debugging.
And you do as I explained.

like i said before , successful flashing stock rom , after that the mobile goes to recovery mode not to the system
Hello Rose, I had the concern like you these for its that it is necessary to start from zero. I also did like you too when I start with power back TRWP direct, I had to reinstall official rom Android 12, use which TRWP for your S10 exynos the one the twrp-3.6.2_9-2-beyond1lte.img yes or no you know that you have to patch its image with magisk 25.2 then rename it in recovery and replace the one in AP with the recovery modify then flash with odin.
In your quote start with TRWP then you take the boot.img of the AP flashed it then try to restart in recovery.

i dont have active android in my device and it can NOT boot up to system if i flashed stock
before stupidly activate oem lock i had zero problems , locked oem and flashed stock and then i got recovery interface , can not log in system
i have LG 4k tv which i messed its software , but managed to reset it all by shorting pins >>> can it be done the same way with my s10 ? if yes , anyone can show me where circuit shorting pins are ?
not at all the only thing to do if you manage to boot trwp recovery in boot do boot download and flash the official rom with csc and not home

not working ,,,, any instructions or updates to flash factory binary without fail via odin ?
googled to download sboot to fix the whole thing , no luck , can anyone attach it here please ? bit15 (uf protection)
Hello Roseen, so how does your S10 react starting on TRWP or getting stuck on the Samsung logo. I don't see that you tried to do things without having looked at the tutorials on XDA. well a 4G exynos G973F you have the Android 12 UI 4.1 rom.
Does your pc recognize the S10 when it starts up, did you get the message in red safety e and the yellow triangle plus the message, at worst try with another smartphone to film the start-up.
What does your last post mean with bit15.
I put you the link for the tutorial s 10 of the forum
