Even if you unlocked the phone the radios AT&T use are not running on the same Frequencies that Verizon use.
I have a friend that needs a new phone and he has a straight talk. I have an old LG Marquee for Sprint and I want to unlock it so he can use it on his carrier. Any ideas how to do that? Its rooted and I have never unlocked a phone but I went to the LG Unlocker website and they require you to pay to unlock it and I am not going to pay for something like that.

Did you call Sprint? It's YOUR phone, PAID for, and you've met the terms of your contract.
The worst thing you can do is not ask...

What do you mean for Verizon? As in bootloader unclock or SIM unlock?
I don't know if you can SIM unlock it and bring it to any other carrier. I could be wrong.
You can buy unlock code for AT&T Moto X from:

Word on the street (these forums) is the big red moto x works on AT&T and T-Mobile out of the box, minus lte.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the verizon moto x factory Sim unlocked? Shouldn't I be able to use att, straight talk, or T-Mobile Sim?
Yes...I have one that I use with Straight Talk

Im about to order a Straight Talk AT&T sim + first month.. for SURE this works fine on a verizon moto x?
Do you have to manually input APN settings, or does it just work after you pop the SIM card?
Thank you.

Anyone know if a sprint n7 unlocked will work on T-Mobile properly??? Thanks.
Yes they all will but you may not get the specific TMO software tweaks.

Yes you can do it. Can't unlock it yet though. We need an ENG kernel or a root to be able to unlock.

What are you talking about? Either the Sprint Note 7 with an unlocked sim slot works or it doesn't. If it has the radios and it sees the simcard for TMO. Then it should work. No need to wait for much.

Unless Sprint unlocks your phone, you're not gonna be able to use it on T-Mobile until a root method drops. Once rooted we can unlock them. I've unlocked over 100 S7 edges from Sprint. Its what I do for a living.

OK. So that's what you do. *shrug* But I doubt it.
The OP asked if an unlocked Note 7 would work on TMO. It will if the sim card is unlocked.
It's a code to unlock it not a kernel. The kernel would be to unlock the bootloader ... a sim unlock and a bootloader unlock are different beasts.
It's not the sim card that has to be unlocked. It's the phone. Sprint don't take codes anymore. Sprint has to approve the unlock now. Just like T-Mobile and the device unlock app. The custom engineering kernel will grant root access to write the correct byte in for the unlock.

Well, the sprint N7 has root now. Do you think you can unlock it? The one I bought is NOT unlocked.
More than likely. I'm on vacation though. Europe

If it's fully paid for then Sprint has to unlock it if you ask. Then you will be able to use it on any carrier.

If its fully paid for they will be able to tell in their system and will unlock it. Doesn't matter who bought it first. The main thing is if it's fully paid for.
