I know this is an old issue, but I just started experiencing it the day before Thanksgiving. I flashed the four most current CM nightlies (cm-10.2-20131018, cm-10.2-20131126, cm-10.2-20131127, cm-10.2-20131128) as well as the last stable (cm-10.1.3-p880) with no effect. The stable release showed a crazy neon purple screen when I switched to the front camera before it failed.
I suspect it's a hardware issue. I'm going to try to re seat the front camera and see if that helps. I'll reply back to this thread with what I find.

Updated to Xdabbeb's 2.1.0 and lost 4K video... ?

Clean flashed Xdabbeb's 2.1.0 and suddenly 4K video is no longer an option. Was working beautifully in 1.2.1...
This couldn't have been removed from XCamLG 5, could it?
Can anyone help?

I'm on the same rom. 4k is working just fine. He left both cameras (lg and XCam) in the rom. Only the XCam will have 4k and improved camera mods.

Lol... No.. Prior to xdabbeb releasing his stand alone camera app, the stock LG camera was modified. He started bundling his XCam app with 2.0.0(25a) and leaving the stock LG camera in there if anybody wanted it. I suppose, to avoid confusion, the stock camera could go in the lg apps zip... That's his call. I'd imagine there's going to be another rom update next week or so once he's back from vacation. Then another update once lg releases the source for the 25a/b/26a kernel. I think he recently updated his camera app too.... Never thought that Verizon would start nightlies! I suppose if the g2 wasn't picked for the Hd voice /volte, it'd be another story.

I Need The Nexus 6 Camera apk Please

I have an LG G3 and I'm wanting to try out a few aosp roms but I always return to stock because the camera app. Im hoping that the camera app from the nexus 6 will let me keep 4k video recording. If someone could pull it for me that would be much appreciated. Thanks

It's just the google camera app from the play store. Anyone can download it on any phone.

Yes i know that , but the one on the nexus 6 has the option to record in 4k where the one in the play store does not.

it was in system/app in a folder called google camera with the apk. On Android L all of my apps are in folders in the system/app

I'm pretty sure the camera itself has to be able to capture in 4k also, not just software.

I have the same exact app on my LG G3 running CM12 (Android L AOSP) and it has 4k what phone are you using this on? Does your phone support 4k?

Yeah I'm using it on there. Its running CM12 and lolipop if that matters.

I was running liquid smooth which is based off CM source code. Ill flash CM12 and see if it makes a difference. Did you just download from the play store or did you manually install ?

I flashed the gapps posted in the OP. I and 2 different camera one had the 4k and one didn't. Now it seems to be gone? I used it earlier and it work and I'm beginning to think that I'm crazy because its not there anymore. I'm going to reflash gapps and see if it comes back.

I know they in not crazy because I tested it after I flashed the ROM last week. I don't use my G3 currently because my Nexus took over as my daily phone. If its not there then I'm going to see if I can figure out why it disappeared.

Thank you very much. Its driving me crazy having a phone capable of doint one thinkg and software not allowing it. Even though I dont use 4k that much it just gets too me lol

I just finished rebooting it and the camera wasn't in the gapps that I flashed so I downloaded it from the play store. Still no 4k, I wonder if it will sppesr if I change the build prop

I installed the app. It is mostly unusable due to crashes. Bt when it works photos are flawless.

I have 3.4b installed, works better, no crashes, more configuration options available.

I tried that version it doesn't work. What device did you choose from the settings for hdr+. I tried it kept crashing.

its not working bruh ! tried every HDR+ mode but the App is getting stopped evertime I do this.
though if you still want to use the HDR+ mode choose from Pixel & when the app crashes..
1.long press the App Icon
2.Select take a selfie
3.Change to Rear Camera
it will work but its annoying :silly:

I've been using this for a 3 days now and it is pretty awesome! Thank you so much! Photos are way better than any modded cameras out there.
The only thing I've been struggling to fix now is the slow motion. It says "can't connect to the camera". I've tried basic fixes out of YouTube and tried flashing some fixes I found on the internet -esp. here in XDA but I am still out of luck.
I am 99% complete now on this camera, just the slow motion isn't working. I am using Xiaomi Redmi 4x running Resurrection Remix 5.8.5-20170929-santoni-Final
I surely will wait for your help.

Thank you so much. I'll look forward to it. And one more thing as I am currently playing with the cam right now, 60FPS also won't work on my device. I have replaced media_profiles.xml and set the necessary permissions but it also says "can't connect to the camera"

Camera App crashes after making any changes in settings . I have done everything dats recomended but nothing helps .

Are you using magisk root? Uninstall the stock camera first via any system app remover. Secondly, Try flashing camera 2 api module. Then download the modded camera on this thread. Works for me (except slow motion and 60fps video -but fix will be coming soon as per dev.)

Install camera2api enabler module. Then install the gcam attached on OP. Reboot and done

Same happened with me too.
I was on stock rom BTW.
I reverted back to stock media_profiles.xml
But the stock miui camera supports the slo-mo and works quite fine at a speed of x0.25

[UPDATE] [Android 10] BEST GOOGLE CAMERA APK WITH NO BUGS

UPDATE: i found a new apk which is working absolutely fine on android 10 roms.
negligible or no freezing issue or shutter greyout issues. (rarely- with flash on pic doesnt click, so turn off the flash and click again)
personally i have tested it on Evolution x, Pixel Experience and Havoc ROM.
Features-
1. it has super-res feature with upto 10x digital zoom. Working absolutely insane?. (attaching sample)
2. night mode working perfectly on both cameras.

Most of the asus zenfone max pro m1(6gb) users facing a problem with their gcam. Problems are:-
1. Sometimes Shutter icon turns gray and doesn't click pictures.
2. Hrd+enhanced settings sometimes crashes.
3. Hdr processing stuck in the middle and need the device to be restarted.
Guide.:-
Either its the android oreo problem or the previous apks problem. But now my version of gcam never crashes or shows bugs as listed.
+ it has google lens support.
I am giving the link of the gcam. apk i am using.
Guys if the problem still happening, try switching to aosp extended pie rom. This rom. Is buttery smooth + g am never crashes even on extreme settings.

Brother use aosp pie, PE PIE is not that stable, and most gcam versions are working in this rom

it's not working... The main camera interface comes up with no preview, but switching to google lens gives preview . if i switch from still to video, the app crashes....
Can u make a fix for the 4gb/32GB version also?
Btw, arnova's gcam is working fine with preview, but i miss ur tweakings...

As i mentioned in my post, not every apk work best with every rom. I just shared my experience was best the combination of this apk and aosp pie rom.
Sory bro i am not a developer still so i ca t make a fix
