I have the 9.5.4 update so I'm not sure if the 9.5.5 update will break your phone. Please be cautious!
THIS IS NOT FOR THE T-MOBILE VERSION!!!
Download:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/eq69x...007-008_patch_1905230032_c8d355a8385.zip/file
To install, copy the zip to the root of your phone, then go into check for updates and hit the settings cog in the upper left, then local update
You can share that here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...on-feedback-oxygenos-9-5-3-ota-t3931090/page4

Is this 9.5.4 or 9.5.5? Would it matter which I installed if I use the device in the US? Global version here.
Installation fails at 80% every time. Im fully stock 9.5.3
Don't want to hijack this thread, but I've added full signed zips for both GM21AA (India/Global) and GM21BA (EU) variants in my thread.
Downloaded and applied without issue.
Sorry, what is the point of this thread? OnePlus has already started posting downloads for the OnePlus 7 Pro and this build has also been out for nearly a week now?
https://www.oneplus.com/uk/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=11
OK, Sorry, just read the OnePlus thread :
"We are starting to push the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 9.5.4 and 9.5.5, they are essentially the same builds, but due to recent regulations in the EU and as per Google's instructions we have 2 builds now, one specifically for EU region."
Meh, I'm in Scotland, I'll push whichever version of the rom I want out, we're gonna be dragged out of Europe kicking and screaming any day now anyway so what the hell.
OxygenOS 9.5.5 was released

You Will most likely to be on 9.5.4
Got the full v9.5.4 update for the GM21AA. My plan is:
Boot to TWRP, flash full v9.5.4
Flash TWRP zip, reboot TWRP
Flash Magisk v19.2
Flash kernel
Reboot system. Am I on a right track?
Tx guys.

Dare I ask what went wrong?
I was going to unlock the bootloader (since it would require a full wipe if I waited and did it later), but otherwise stop there (I don't think changing recovery or rooting result in any need to wipe)
There is a full OTA zip in the 2nd post of the TWRP thread. This may solved your problem. But I do suggest you read the whole thread, as there maybe info that regard to your bootloader issue. I noticed that some of the OP3T came with OOS 3.5.1, which have issue w/ custom recovery. So you have to upgrade to 3.5.3.
PS: there is this full backup available also.

After mucking around with TWRP/Root, I decided I wanted to try the plain vanilla SafetyNet-compliant OxygenOS experience. In TWRP, I flashed the 3.5.3 OTA from here. I rebooted my phone into Fastboot and relocked the bootloader, then rebooted back into OxygenOS. I think relocking the bootloader and flashing the OTA are interchangeable.
Also, from what I recall, if you want to flash the file through the stock recovery, have the file downloaded to the root of your internal storage partition and name it ota.zip. Either download it while in the OS, or use Fastboot mode and use adb push to upload it from your computer to your phone through USB. Reboot into Recovery and there should be an option to update.
The 5T is currently on Nougat. It will get an Oreo OTA one day.
Will having Magisk installed prevent the OTA from being downloaded/installed automatically?
Will I have to download the OTA myself and flash it manually using ADB or a custom recovery?
Also will I have to download the full image or just the OTA?
Hope someone can answer this.
Thanks!

With magisk, you will be able to take/install an ota using your phone by at least restoring your boot.img.... You must have stock recovery of course, so you have to restore it if you have a custom one... I suggest disabling automatic update, it will notify you anyway if you have one...

Okay thanks. Thats what I wanted to know.
It will detect if you have magisk installed, then it will download a full zip which you have to flash manually through TWRP just like a custom ROM. After that, just flash magisk again. (Assuming you still have TWRP installed).
Also what Didgeridoohan said.

No need for restoring boot or recovery image.

Actually, you can add the OnePlus system update to the Hide list and it'll fool it into downloading the regular OTA.
Edit: of course, you can't install it without restoring stock boot image and recovery...

I guess you didn't get what I mean... We all know you can download an update from any source if available... The point is taking the ota directly on your device... I for example don't want to fail an ota because the system will then tell me to download a larger size/full rom to update my device... That's something some people wants to avoid to conserve some data...

Ah, sorry! Should have read it more clear.
The following guide will allow you to upgrade firmware via OTA and retain root.
This method will work for moving up from any 10.0.x on EU and non EU variants of the 7t Pro including the McLaren edition, just ensure you set the correct device variant in Oxygen Updater
PREREQUISITE: Must be on rooted 10.0.x firmware before following the below guide
1) Download the Oxygen Updater app from the play store
2) Open Oxygen Updater - Go to settings and ensure you have your device set to the correct model e.g 'EU' and the update method is set to 'full update'
3) Download the latest available update but DO NOT install it
4) Navigate to Android settings>System>System update
5) Hit settings and then local update
6) Select the file downloaded from Oxygen Updater (will be on the root of your internal memory)
7) Wait for it to install and ensure you DO NOT reboot at the end
8) Go to Magisk manager and disable/delete any modules you have installed (will screw your device up if you leave them enabled)
9) In Magisk manager select install then 'install to inactive slot (After OTA)'
10) Reboot and you should be on the latest firmware with root retained
11) If you have Magisk modules you want enabled again don't just hit enable - remove them totally and redownload them before enabling
Note: you can use the system update menu in settings to obtain your OTA update, I use the oxygen updater method purely because they seem to distribute the firmware quicker in some regions. Just make sure you don't reboot after installation and then continue from step 8.
Hope this helps!

Yeah, as mentioned this is only for a clean upgrade from rooted 10.0.3 to 10.0.4. if you updated the firmware without this method you will lose root and need to source or create a patched 10.0.4 boot.img to root again.
daveuk87 said:
I've been asked a couple of times privately how I upgraded from 10.0.3 to 10.0.4 and maintained root on the EU OP7t Pro so thought I'd drop this here for anyone else curious;
PREREQUISITE: Must be on rooted 10.0.3 EU firmware before following the below guide
1) Download the Oxygen Updater app from the play store
2) Open Oxygen Updater - Go to settings and ensure you have your device set to the EU model and the update method is set to 'full update'
3) Download the 10.0.4 update but DO NOT install it
4) Navigate to Android settings>System>System update
5) Hit settings and then local update
6) Select the file downloaded from Oxygen Updater (will be on the root of your internal memory)
7) Wait for it to install and ensure you DO NOT reboot at the end

10) Reboot and you should be on 10.0.4 with root retained
11) If you have Magisk modules you want enabled again don't just hit enable - remove them totally and redownload them before enabling
Hope this helps simplify the upgrade for someone out there.
This works for the McLaren variant also (people keep asking whether there are differences in the process)
This will also work for the global firmware that released a couple of days back, just ensure you set the correct device in Oxygen Updater

Hi @daveuk87,
you don't actually need the Oxygen Updater, as long as you're going to update through internal updater. Oxygen Updater might get usefull, when we get TWRP.
But if you're rooted, but without custom recovery simply do the following steps:
1. Go to Settings>System>System update
2. Select "Download & Install"
3. Follow Steps 7 - 11 from OP.
Did exactly that and it worked without issues.

I have had a slight improvement with the radio performance after updating to 10.3.1 GM21AA. In my bathroom, the device used to drop to WiFi Calling but now can stay on cellular. Hi, I have decided to gather boot images and magisk patched images to one thread for now. I will try to edit this thread to be up-to-date. You can let me know what could you want next or if anything is wrong etc.
Stock boot.img files (direct links):
EU NE2213_11_A.12
Stock boot.img - link
EU NE2213_11_A.10
Stock boot.img - link
Magisk patched boot.img are here a file that can be downloaded (I am using magisk canary usually, but in Magisk, you can change the channel from the canary to stable etc.) - names as the versions come.
Below this there are those magisk patched files which you just flash (or boot and then flash directly from the Magisk app) via fastboot
Reserved
Don't you need to patch vendor_boot.img as well like OnePlus 9 pro ?

Apparently not. I have patched that stock boot via magisk, then via fastboot boot <patchedimage.img> booted (and also tested if it actually boots) and when it booted, via magisk app I did "Direct install (recommended)", rebooted and done.
Oh okay you had a temporary boot we that's good to know well it works that's the most important thing ain't it
Noob question I been on locked bootloader for years so haven't been in the root scene, but I have US model NE2215 I'm guessing I need to wait for the firmware to be available to get the boot img? You should wipe the phone and start all over or else you won't be able to take ota updates. Never flash the patched boot image since you bypass the magisk backup feature. You have to wait for the full update package to update if you flash the boot. Ppl have previously had update issues after flashing.

Not sure what else magisk does during the backup process, but doing what you’re describing didn’t work for users on 8T and they usually ended up soft bricking. Everyone who flashed it vice installing from magisk app had to wait for op to post the full rom or for someone to post a repacked fastboot rom to update.
You do what you need to do, I’m just giving you some experience and recommendations since you just wiped and flashed the boot.

Interesting.
I moved over from ColorOS to oxygen OS, wiped the device then just booted a patched boot img, and installed direct.
I assume I flash ota and go onto magisk and do inactive slot? Where does the issue lie what method should I have gone down?

Hmmm. Well you should be fine if you patched the boot and let magisk do the install. I only suggested wiping since you said you flashed the img from the bootloader.
You might run into the same problem I have with the 9RT. I too upgraded from color to oos and couldn’t update at all, even though I rooted from the magisk app. I had to wait for someone to make a fastboot rom. I had no problems updating color following my method, but not oos after switching. Hopefully that’s not the case for you.
