Mi 5 Completely Bricked - Xiaomi Mi 5 Questions & Answers

I've had a mi 5 for about 2 months with a global (non-dev) ROM. Recently I successfully unlocked the bootloader with MiUnlock and then tried to install TWRP through adb and fastboot. The twrp.img flashed fine but then I held the power button to exit fastboot and now my phone is bricked. No charge light, display no nothing. I've tried the test points and disconnecting the battery and I've tried holding the PWR + VOL UP + VOL DOWN. The phone was on about 60% charge I think. Is my beloved mi 5 dead for good? Thanks in advance.

connect your phone on pc and see if there is any detection of port? in device manger.
i recommend you 4pda, there are some guides in which you can flash it via qfil if it goes to qualcomm usbloader mode, and

Mi5 Bootloop, Global Stable From Miui.com - Locked Bootloader

So yesterday I bought my first Xiaomi phone, Mi5, it came installed with Version: V8.1.2.0.MAAMIDI (MIUI8) which I understand is the stock Global ROM.
Everything was fine untill I disabled some google apps and went to reboot and now my phone is stuck in a bootloop. I have locked bootloader(applied for unlock), no root.
Pressing vol + power enters me to a screen with a phone sketch and usb cable
Pressing vol - power enters fastboot
How can I repair my phone? Shouldn't there be a recovery on a stock ROM? How can I enter it?
Please help
Just flash stock rom.....
Goto fastboot mode and connect your phone to your computer with drivers installed in it
Open adb command prompt, and type adb devices and then it will recognise your device and now type reboot to edl
Now your is booted in download mode flash stock rom by mi flasher.......

Qualcoom hs-usb qdloader 9008

Hello,
My phone with lineage 14.1 on it died during charging, screen down, nothing made it react. I was able to flash it with miflash, now it can be rebooted from "Qualcoom hs-usb qdloader 9008" mode to "Qualcoom hs-usb qdloader 9008" mode but still no screen reaction. I flashed newest miui global and what can i do to make it reboot to normal mode?
No problems flashing from miflash, but no detection in fastboot and adb & impossible to boot neither adb or fastboot.
I have the same story. When I woke up today, my phone worked, one hour later: black screen. Force reboot doesn't fix it. I my pc does recognise my phone as Qualcomm. Mi Flash can flash, but the phone still doesn't boot normally...

Don't worry. After flashing the global rom on a "dead" Mi 5, it takes very long, after the phone reacts. I pressed the power on button for at least 10 minutes, nothing happens. But after waking up the next day, phone was "alive". So I guess, that the global roms are not very "startup-friendly". Try tu press the power butten a very long time after flashing and put it on charge or not, when battery is full. And wait some time. It worked for me! Good luck!

Yes! I came home today and tried to boot my phone, the red dot flashed (battery empty). A sign of life! So I connected my phone to the charger and I could boot him! P.S. I didn't have to install 7.2.4, I had the latest china dev flashed.

Hold volume down and power buttons until you see fastboot mode
Sent from my payton_sprout using XDA Labs
Hello Friend!! holding the power button and volume less, it did not enter fastboot at all. However, I held the Power button, volume less and connected it via the cable on the PC, so I managed to enter fastboot mode, and hard reset it, the device came back to life. thank you for the answer.

Phone bricked, in a bootloop with no access to recovery/fastboot whatsoever

While being in a bootloop, the system does not let me connect the phone to the PC and use fastboot to try to flash it. vol down + power on do not work. vol up + power on also do not work. Is there any chance that I can save my phone?
You need to follow this guide Step by step to be able to flash with SP Tool

For anyone who's also facing the problem, I got the same issue and I just followed this video step by step and fixed my phone with ease.

You have to experiment with some button combinations. I ran into the same problem with a different phone two years ago. Read everything about this even if fastboot isn't working right now.

first let's go, download the fastboot stock version of the ROM then download Miflash, unzip the rom on your main disk twice, now on your cell phone you will press the power off button and at the same time the fastboot button (you must have messed up the file boot so it doesn't turn on) and play Miflash also on C disk, open Miflash on mobile in fastboot mode and select ROM folder don't forget to put the option to just clean and not lock, when the process is finished you wait for the phone to turn on

Thx but phone dont booting to fastboot mode so i cant flash boot.img i tryed now SP Flash too in linux and still same errors becouse phone disconecting too fast. I think technician service will be solution..
Dont use The daanm Sp flash Tool , Its for mediatek devices, USE Miflash, and Its impossible a phone dont boot in fastboot mode, try again, pls hold The button
I have both Mi flash and SP flash tool
Without fastboot you cant do much...
in Miflash it dont do anything even device it dont see on COM3
in SP flash too it react but with errors becouse of disconecting
phone dont boot right becouse both A and B boot images are corrupted.
Does your screen at boot turn red? I've done everything on my cell phone, several things have happened to me and not once did fastboot have a problem, because fastboot is a totally different place to boot, there is only this possibility if you used commands in adb to remove or do something in fastboot that made it useless, it's impossible to happen this in the way you said
yes i did adb commands in fastboot becouse i instaled recovery and this all happend after reboot
no problem doing things in adb, I said in the sense that you deleted fastboot in adb but that didn't happen by the way you said
Turn off your phone.
Press and hold the Power + Volume Down buttons together and immediately connect the device to the PC. You need to time it perfectly.
It will automatically boot into EDL mode, and LED lights may blink.
Download QPST Flash Tool and install your device's firmware using QFIL(comes included in QPST).
I suggest you to read everything about it online.

I tryed but not succes. It just booting every 5s nowhere. Cant get to EDL mode sorry. And correct turn off phone isnt possible i have to unplug battery flex cable but i also tryed. Only possible state where it dont restarting is when battery is unpluged and i connect phone on cable with pc and pressing volume down+power. But connection to COM3 is only 2s.
Well, in that case you need to short the test points on your motherboard and plug the phone into your PC at the same time.
Watch several videos related to it on YouTube first.
Wait, is your phone Redmi Note 11 or 11s?
I will try the point test. I have Redmin Note 11s.
Ahhhh...you posted it on Note 11 forum.
Can't help you mate. Things are more complicated in mediatek devices.
Still, this thread might help a little. Good luck.

Now i have bit progress with python im able to hold COM3 port connection around 60s. But when i start SP Flash Tool it will always make error. STATUS_BROM_CMD_STARTCMD_FAIL (0xC0060001) and STATUS_ERR (0xC0010001) , STATUS_BROM_CMD_FAIL
I finally managed to connect device for longer time cca 1 min with MTKMETAUtilityV49 and it helped me also disable auhorized connection for SP Flash tool V5. By this i formated whole disc except bootloader. Now phone dont self restarting so it is prepared for instal fresh rom. I think this will be again problem becouse i geting this error after few seconds of flashing: STATUS_SEC_IMG_TOO_LARGE
