Got the pie update tonight on my ATT V40. Def feel a difference in overall feel. Nice and snappy. Will report back with other impression once I have more time on it.

Fresh ROM install is properly 'crisp'. Give it a few days, and that will, most likely, settle in. At least you know it went well, and that nothing you have is conflicting. Welcome to your piece of the Pie!

After a couple of reboots, the animations definitely seem smoother. Other than that it feels about the same as Oreo. Minor changes, but better than nothing.
One thing that is fixed for me at least, is the location coming on even after I turned it off. Before the update the location was basically on all the time.

Do you remember how big the update was? I had put my phone on the charger for the night and it woke up the screen that a download was available. When I clicked install, it rebooted and hung for a while on the AT&T logo. It finally booted up and the software info is correct. It must have downloaded the actual update in the background. Oh well, maybe a few bug fixes, but so far I can't tell any difference. Almost seemed like a security update.

Yea mine did the same thing. Was kinda weird.
I'm surprised you don't notice any difference. It's not revolutionary or anything but it's there. Try using this: 1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com as your private DNS.

Next is the Unlocked US version I hope. I'm going to see if I can keep my unlocked bootloader when I flash over to it.
Another observation: I used to have issues with WiFi calling dropping in and out in certain areas of my house. I used to think it was coverage but I have 3 Google WiFi pucks in a 3800sqft house. After this update though it hasn't dropped once. And since my location issue is fixed my battery life is back to normal. 61% left with a 2:30 hours of sot

WIFI scanning for foreground apps is crippled in PIE. 30 seconds between scans and no option to whitelist WIFI scanner apps.
Battery life is greatly improved for me (25% longer lasting so far) but auto-brightness does seem to be quite a bit more aggressive. Phone feels much snappier, too. Camera responses, especially when zooming/toggling between lenses seems improved.
This could be an AT&T app I haven't disabled or something else completely, but since the update I no longer receive any notifications when my phone is connected to my car's bluetooth. I get what looks like enhanced Android Auto experience (again, could be just update to AA app) when using Native Android Auto in my Civic. Notifications [I do get these when phone is plugged into car/AA is active] and navigation in general are much snappier and appear in a more crisp and desirable manner.
The only issue I have with it so far is that I no longer get notifications while I'm in my car (again, maybe unrelated to the Pie update). Otherwise it is behaving almost like a new phone again like it did back in October, or maybe even a little faster.

Sprint lg v40 pie
I still haven't got the update to LG v40. is there a way that I can download the pie for att since its the same variant model number as the sprint one, just in case everyone didn't know the sprint and att lg v40 is the same model number, so I was wondering if I can somehow download the v40 att pie update and flash it on the stock browser or sideload it. either way, anyone have the download to manually do it?

Figure it would be nice to have a thread of changes we have found in 5.1.1
For me the UI feels a LITTLE more responsive, nothing major. That's all I have seen.
What about others?
For me so far it has been better standby time. Battery.
I notice somewhat better performance in general, phone just feels a little snappier. Battery life obviously can't be judged yet, might factory reset later if it gets worse (stupid Google Play Music device limit).
This is super minor, but I notice that the time it takes for the phone to verify the encryption passphrase is about half of what it was. And most people will likely not care about this either, but the T-Mobile jingle aligns with the T-Mobile white screen during boot up now.
Agree it's very very early, but I had pretty bad battery drain for the first few hours after I updated. Cleared cache via the stock recovery and it seems to be much better.
Definitely feels snappier.. I've noticed slightly better battery life.. But I can't really tell yet.. Just gotta use the phone and figure out any immediate changes

I just cleared my cache with stock recovery too, and when it rebooted, it said the update failed, which is strange since I updated it 11 hours ago, and I'm definitely on 5.1.1.

I noticed that too. I had to reboot twice into recovery (had to go back into Android because I needed to decrypt my phone to clear cache). Both times it said "Installing system update". No ertror mesage, though.
Updated this morning. Played around with my phone for a bit and then did a factory reset for the heck of it. So far it's pretty decent. I like the new camera feature and the removable S Finder and Quick Connect boxes too. I've been running it with everything turned on for almost a month and was getting great battery life. So far the battery is doing pretty good as I'm using it quite heavily.

Well, I'm growing tired of my phone lagging like a single core 600MHz Android running Eclair.. Can we just go to the T-Mobile store and tell them to give us a new one (provided we purchased our phones from T-Mobile in the first place) I can't imagine this phone was designed to run this slow.

Disable dual window and see if that helps. Also enable Force GPU Rendering under developer options. And, of course, disable and remove any bloat you're able to without root.

I think this phone has some aggressive throttling injected. Like configured to opperate with 2 cores even before it starts warming up. Keep in mind that it also has android 5.1 which suffers from poor memory management. we need 5.1.1 update. I find not sense to these multicore CPU Craze when we fall victim of these type of software limitations.

Also, Clean Master is a band-aid (as opposed to a solution). I find it immediately has an impact.
I disable the smart BS from LG. Uninstall everything that can be uninstalled and disable pretty much everything that can be disabled.
Also do Maintenance restarts every few days because of the 5.1 memory issue. Works like a champ.
What really bothers me is that all of the reviews say this phone is really snappy, like hell it is, after you disable all of the installed LG and T-Mobile BS apps.

I've disabled and uninstalled what I could so far. It is better than stock, but still not what it should be.
I'd say for the most part the phone operates fine and doesn't seem to lag at all. BUT WHEN IT DOES... holy sh** ... How an android phone released this year can hang up and lag like this is completely unacceptable. I can see why people choose Iphones. My note 4 never lagged as bad as this one does at times. Literally I'll hit the back button and wait and wait and wait... 30-45 seconds before it responds... I'll be hitting it like 12 times like WTF is going on... it's absurd and unacceptable. In these moments it's worse than a Galaxy S3 ... no lie.
Like I said I am good most of the itme... MOST.. but when it does this (a few times every couple days) it's infuriating.

Yeah that is the only thing that has kept the phone from being returned - the camera is good. That and I am hoping that LG will roll out an update to fix the slowness or someone will release a root exploit so I can do it myself.
I don't get how the phone is sluggish its running fast as ever for me
I had a pretty bad unit. It was very slow and the touchscreen was unresponsive. Tmo sent me a new device and it's working so much better now.

I think you are right. The QSlide calculator was unbearably laggy till I cleared the Clip Tray. I don't use the LG Keyboard, so getting to the Clip Tray frequently is a pain. I'm looking for a shortcut now, but If I can't find one I just use Debloater to block the LG Keyboard.

I got the update too. Only thing it says is update from OE2 to OF3. Still 5.0.2. I don't notice anything else.
I'm holding off taking this as I suspect it will break ping-pong root. Wife is taking it now on her 925.
Edit:
Kernel date on the OF3 ATT update is June 18, so well after the May 15 cutoff date for the patch. It should be assumed that the ping-pong exploit will NOT work on this update, unless proven otherwise.
I was holding off on this update because I was planning on rooting today. I woke up this morning to the phone updating on it's own. So much for rooting.

Do we know if it does in fact wipe root?
This update seems faster. Well, it probably is because it's a newer kernel but it's not night and day.
The one change that is obvious is the signal. I have had no signal in my town for the past month, others have said the same and there are some threads about this issue.
I don't have any signal problems now (so far) so that's a good sign.

Ya, nothing really important for me
I'm using stock unrooted now and (thus far) it has fixed some of my biggest annoyances. UI is much smoother (but I'm not using TouchWiz anymore), standby battery has been non-terrible, and I haven't had any huge memory issues. With that said, these things don't always crop up in the first few days.

Well I was getting huge battery drain from the HD Voice option being selected on OE2. I just checked and when I went back to stock it enabled the HD voice again without any big problems w/ battery life.
Update- the ear piece sound much better for calls, but a lot of people I talk to say I sound a lot worse. Wanted to see if anyone else has similar feedback?
I turned off "enhanced 4gLTE" for HD voice and everyone says I sound much better. I don't live in an HD voice area according to the coverage map, so I don't know if that matters

What I've found is that of I leave the Phone app beta, downgrade, join beta, upgrade... I get screening back... for a time, then seemingly randomly it becomes necessary to repeat.
Major bummer.

I haven't install One UI 2.1 on my N960N yet. I was just wondering how it fares compared to One UI 2.0? As the most of you know the issue I had was with the Secure Folder and updating Wechat via Google on it.

well don't know about 960N but on my 960F so far its almost same as 2.0. only few new feature updates and the new deep sleep feature. all apps works well. no issue with secure folder aswell. so far i don't feel any battery improvements tho! im thinking of during factory reset and do a fresh start to see if that improves anything.
I just update my N960N to the latest version of Android 10 with OneUI 2.1 and so far it seems to have fixed some of the issues I had with the first release of Android 10 for the Note 9. Not sure about the Secure Folder as I have yet to test that.

You would probably need to wait a few weeks for the AI to learn your habits before the battery performance improves
How are you guys getting this update? It doesn't appear to be available to me, yet. I'm on the USA T-mobile SM-N960U.
It has also not arrived on my N960F here in Bulgaria. Month is not over though so I'll just wait, no hurry.

N960U/U1/9600 is snapdragon model and probably 2.1 update will get in july or August
For now only Exynos models N960F/N960N are getting this update
My ( Xfinity Mobile) N960U got 2.1 this morning.
The first thing that I noticed was when I fired up Messages I was greeted with a dialog informing me about chat via text using Google's services.
Does that mean that Samsung is finally enabling RCS?

What's the build number? Might install it now since AT&T will be slow.

I didn't see your comment as I was typing my question.
Gonna try to get this on my AT&T 960U tonight. If you can get it on and running, drop a note in this thread?
Good luck.
Yes you should be able to use on At&t. I just checked Frija and Samfirm it's not on either

I can't get Frija to pull it up.... I'm entering the info exactly like your screenshot... Am I missing something? A setting that I needed to change?
I never heard of Frija, I just looked it up and installed it. It was no help. I'm guessing the update for my phone hasn't been released yet. I'm on the T-mobile USA variant. Frija gave me the version I already had, which doesn't include 2.1.
