Google photos shortcut in MIUI camera? - Xiaomi Mi 9 Questions & Answers

The MIUI stock rom is way superior compared to the current GCAM version. I'm wondering if it's possible to create a google photos shortcut so I can watch/edit my photos in google photos (and not in the MIUI gallery).
Thanks guys!

Deactivate Miui Gallery. I did it with Titanium Backup and it's working great with Google photos. (ROS) I don't know if it works with Stock rom.

Great idea! I'm just curious - people said that if you uninstall/deactivate MIUI gallery app you get into a bootloop (but maybe only on stock rom). Thanks!

Yes if you uninstall the wrong system app you can get bootloop. But deactivating gallery won't do that.

You can disable it in CyanogenMod settings. If that doesn't work, try editing build.prop file in System folder.
Use miui camera..u can always disable the shutter click
Sent from public phone using 10cents.
The MIUI Camera doesn't look very good on my SGM. There seems to be a alignment problem. Does anyone else have this issue?
I use Camera 360 for taking pictures on all roms. You can turn off all effects and use it as regular camera app..
I have a question about this too...
Does the CM7 camera really has touch focus feature???
You can google it sir. You can find everything on google , or you can browse on the development section on cm7 threads there are links on camera there.
Stock camera will not work in cm7 coz framework are different.

to disable the CM cam sound
Settings>CM Settings>Sound> now deres an option to disable the camera sound just check it done!!! no need to switch to any other cam...
Use root explorer, go to system ---- media ---- sounds -- ui and delete the first file- called camera click or something like that

Completely substitute the on board camera app with the Google camera

Help guys,
I am currently using miui 9 beta rom from Xiaomi eu on my Mi Mix.
For the camera, I am getting really amazing results with the modified Google camera apk, the one with ported hdr+ from the Pixel.
It's useless at this point to ever lunch the stock camera, which is really awful.
I use very often the "double click the power button" from lock screen to get into the camera. This however launches the stock camera.
Is there any way to force MIUI to launch the Google camera instead?
Thank you for your help.
try button mapper... or similar apps from store, no root, root or xposed.. depending wich level modification u want...

Hey. I've tried selecting 3rd party cam apps as default to get them triggered by double press to launch(screen off) but however it only launches the stock camera app. I also froze the stock and tried so but no luck. Im on MM build so you can just give it a try by Settings » Installed apps » Defaults(icon on the bottom) » Camera then select Google cam.

I tried that already, no luck. Thank you for the suggestion anyway.

I was looking for the same thing a few days ago didn't solve it and moved to ViperOS rom.
Maybe it can work if someone finds a specific MIUI file with the camera path shortcut on it, I have no idea where to start looking ...
So far even button remapper doesn't work for this

Can anyone share some feedback on this app working on custom ROMs for the Mix like LineageOS? With a custom ROM and a better and more customisable launcher like Nova Launcher for example, I think the integration and implementation of the Google Camera HDR+ app will be much better than on the stock MIUI ROM.
Thanks in advance

MIUI Gallery for Custom ROMs?

Hello everybody,
is there any working port of the stock Gallery app from MIUI for AOSP-based custom ROMs?
I am on EvoX rom right now with ANX camera but I miss some features like sky replacement or adjusting the aperture afterwards.
Can someone help me out or send a download link for a working port?
Thanks in advance
I've been looking for this too. Stock AOSP/LOS gallery app is really horrible.

Google Photos is even more horrible. It is so unorganized in my opinion and too bloated with the services from Google.
Try oneplus gallery.

Hi everyone!
I've just found a way to install Miui Gallery on a custom rom.
The solution : Magisk ! Here is a video tutorial (from a youtuber named KTNTECH) :
Enjoy !
(for having the sky replacement feature, install version 1. There is a way to enable it on earlier version but it's to complicated for me .)

Why do you need anx camera, if you are already on stock rom. You have already miui camera application that is enough.

Do you have any idea how to proceed?

You can try but I think it won't work in case of difficult settings which can't be easily copied....
Only a backup of titanium or alpha backup pro.... and restore didn't work, I've already tried and give up.
But may be your knowledge is better and you get it....

I have the solution that worked.
The camera backup files (6 files total) needs to restored in titaniumbackup.
Just place files in titanium backup folder and restore.
Taken from Cdroid 8.4 12L.
It really does work like stock. More stable than Gcam. Especially the video stabilization is awesome. Using it on Nusantara A12
