Previously glove settings, now it's touch sensitivity option in note 9, but no such thing in note 8 running android Pie.
Can anyone share the solution? I'm on stock Pie firmware on N950F and after glass protector the touch sensitivity of the overall screen is miserable.
Yeah, I have noticed that Samsung has removed it from the Note 8 as well. However I have a glass screen protector on my N950N and the touch sensitivity is pretty good on it.
Bump same issue, need help with this, is there any workaround? I cant be the only one using protection glass and having issues with the sensitivity + not having the option. Its missing on note 8 but its present on my note 10+
I have a glass screen protector on my Note8 (N950F) and the touch sensitivity is pretty good on it.

I've had mine since October without a screen protector, but it is in a Samsung Clearview Stand case. No problems and I've dropped the phone twice from hip height, once onto wood and once onto tiles ... all OK! I never put it in a pocket/bag with keys or anything sharp though!

The glass can scratch, so use a protector if you want to avoid that.
There are already many threads with this info...No need for another one really. Read through this, for example: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=73870481
I would definitely advise all Note 8 owners to have a screen protector installed on their device. As the Note 8 itself is very slippery due to it's metal and glass sandwich construction.
The Mi 8 Pro has the fingerprint scanner built in to the display. I heard that this will no longer work correctly after installing a screen protector.
Does anybody have any experience with using a screen protector on this phone, and does it signigicantly reduce the capability of the fingerprint scanner? And if your fingerprint still reads well, which protector did you buy?
Edited
Update: I bought these from Amazon (to fit the Mi 8) https://www.amazon.co.uk/iTieTie-Protector-Definition-Hardness-Compatible/dp/B07FC41DJM
It maybe has slightly reduced sensitivity with this screen protector. But it still works well enough for me!

This is true.
After I installed a screen protector
Fingerprint has stopped working
However, my friend has a screen protector cheap and it works great
(My screen protector I bought at $ 15)
I bought a screen protector from Aliexpress and the fingeprint works perfectly (cost me 8,74 €).

The fingerprint seems to still work after installing this screen protector, but maybe seems to have a slightly reduced sensitivity. Though it still works fine for me!

Hi!
I bought the screen protector for Mi 8 Explorer and the material Amazing H 0.33mm.
I though to buy the 0.2mm, but I think that is less strong than the other...
Hello!
I pre-ordered my Tab S6 and plan to buy a screen protector in advanced. Quick search on Amazon.com showed me a few options which states it is compatible with Tab S6 and Tab S5E. Does anyone know if S6 and S5E has the same front panel? Thanks in advanced for your feedbacks!
The Samsung Store I went to applied a Tab S5e glass screen protector on my Tab S6. Assured me that it would fit, and it did fit quite nicely.

I am sure the fingerprint sensor is optical not ultrasonic.
Quoted:
"The 7,040mAh battery is actually smaller than the 7,300mAh one in the S4, but Samsung still promises 15 hours off battery life, just an hour less than the 16-hour Tab S4.
One thing you won’t find on the Galaxy Tab S6 is a physical fingerprint scanner. Nor does it have an iris scanner like the S4. Instead, Samsung has added an onscreen optical fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the display for unlocking. It’s the first in-display scanner in a tablet, but if it’s anything like the ones in our phones, it won’t be nearly as instant or convenient as Samsung promises."

FP sensor is optical, should work fine as long as protector doesn't distort.
Just picked up a set of cheap glass protectors on amazon. They cover the screen but are really a little small for the tab. Could be 1/8 inch longer and 1/16 in wider for perfect fit. Go on very easy tho and work with FP and s-pen. Makes the keyboard case move aroud even more when closed tho.
Does screen protector for tab s4 fit tab s6 ?

only if it was undersized. The ones I had went edge to edge and are a 1/4 inch too big for the s6
I ordered a three pack on Amazon for cheap, brand is called Sparin. The fingerprint sensor was kind of iffy after applying it, but it did work. I deleted my prints and entered them again, works great now. Fits great, only a very small gap around the entire edge. It's perfect if you have the keyboard cover case, if it were slightly wider the keyboard part would hit the protector and probably cause it to lift off.
That being said, for some reason my tablet is very laggy now. First time I've turned it off since I got it. I've already cleared cache twice but doesn't help. Even removed the protector to see if that was causing the issue since I saw someone else report similar issues after installing one, something to do with Samsung saying in the manual not to cover the sensors by the front camera even with a protector. But the thing is still laggy. Guess I'll install another protector and do a factory reset to see what happens.
EDIT: Did the factory reset with a new protector already installed and the tablet is functioning normally. So if you run into an issue like that after installing a protector it seems a factory reset will fix whatever got messed up. First time I've run into this as I've had protectors cover sensors on other devices before without harm.

I bought a double pack screen protector that said it works for s5e and s6 and they fit on my s5e and Tab s6. I just sold the s5e but I can tell you the screens are the same exact dimension as the Tab s6.
Is TGSP necessary for a tablet? Does extensive s-pen usage scratch the screen?
I use them for my phone because it is in my pocket and moving around a lot.
Does the tab have a factory installed screen protector, kind of like the Sony Tablet Z did a few years or so ago?
I'd like a protector but think a glass one will be too thick with my case, what screen protectors do you lot have on your tablet?
Bought myself a tempered/hardened glass shield, it is 0.33 mm thick. Some standard china product. Usually I’ll buy matte plastic covers for my devices but in this case I wanted the best feeling for the pen. And also best contrast for movies. So the choice fell on this glass shield.
Applying was easy. But I did get some dust just in the middle of the screen! No problem to remove it and peel dust off and put it back. Result was great. It looks very nice.
Pen experience was interesting. The stock tip, light gray, soft one. Worked not great. It sticks. So I changed to the hard black one. Now it feels like walking on ice. Very smooth. Almost too smooth! ? but I think it’s good.
Fingerprint sensor does not work though! It reads but not good and not completely. I tried to add fingerprint again but it can’t be done since it works not properly. Very sad. I liked this feature. So now I have to use some other method to unlock, currently pin code.
Touch works like before. Very good feeling, slides good.
Also added a crystal clear TPU cover on the unit to make it better to grab onto. Now my device is protected and better to handle, very satisfied.
Has anyone put on a screen ? Especially the ones that uses liquid adhesive to see if the sensitivity is acceptable? I see that we can turn on the sensitivity option in the device?? I just haven't bought one yet??
I got a set of 3 matte hydrogel protectors from Ali Express. Not bad. Easy to install; didn't get bubbles.
Starting with the S10+ (then the Note 10+ and Note 20 Ultra), I've stopped using glass since I just don't see the point in crippling the ultrasonic fingerprint reader.
Hello everyone, so I have either had a google device or a OnePlus and am used to the clean OS. I decided to go with the S21 Ultra due to the reviews and I do enjoy it, but I don't at the same time.
I must applaud Samsung for all their "extra" features they put in UI 3.1, but for me, I don't use any of them and prefer the stock/vanilla Android. I actually think my old OnePlus 7T was snappier then the 21 Ultra.
Another thing, I was never a fan of the curved screen. I ALWAYS put a tempered glass screen protector on my phones (they were always flat) and its saved me A TON of times! I got one for this phone that's curved but its so thin and has air bubbles that it bothers me.
Do you guys think there eventually be Roms for the device?
I'm also a fan of Google phones in particular due to their clean Android interface design. Samsung just has more options in the settings menu, however, I only have to go into the settings menu like once or twice per week - so that doesn't bother me at all.
But with that said, this S21U phone is definitely snappier than both my old Pixel 3XL and one of my family member's OnePlus 7T. And the speed jump, in my case, could be a result of having a Snapdragon 888 and using the 120hz refresh rate (whereas those other two phones have slower chips and only support 60hz refresh rates).
But yeah, based on you asking about custom ROMs, I can tell that you're not in North America and have an Exynos version of the phone (as any Snapdragon devices in NA don't support official bootloader unlocks and so you'll have to pay over $100 to unlock your phone in the potentially distant future). If that's the case (you have an Exynos), then yes, you will be getting custom ROMs in the near future. But if you're actually in NA, then no; you won't be getting any custom ROMs for quite a while.
But if you do have a Exynos version of the phone, then that would be rather interesting. Everyone online is continuously saying how the Exynos version performed better than the Snapdragon version in some benchmark tests. But it'd be pretty funny (and highly unfortunate) if the Exynos phone performs far worse in actual usage situations when compared to the Snapdragon phone. I'm already very well aware of the Exynos phones getting much hotter than the Snapdragon phones, but I'm not sure about the actual usage performance difference yet.
Oh, and one more thing! To comment on the glass, definitely beware of the S21 Ultra's glass! It's super, super fragile and isn't just the new, Victus Gorilla Glass that they said that it was (so it can scratch and shatter extremely easily as a result).
Oh wow! Thank you so much for the write up! I actually have the Snapdragon model (Canadian) and thought the bootloader lock wasn't an issue anymore... darn it...
Ya I totally agree with everything you said about the phone, great phone, way faster then my oneplus 7t, but I think I'm still selling it.
Thank you for your response
If you want a quality curved screen protector go with this one. It fits perfectly and there are no air bubbles. A UV light cures the liquid adhesive. It's pretty much a knock off of the whitestone dome glass screen protector.

How are finger prints on this? Cause I've got the dome glass and it is stupid expensive but damn, finger prints are almost non existant or come of real easy and it feels glassier than a very glassy like material made of very glas like stuff
But I'm glad other companies are coming out with their own

Can you comment on the fingerprints compared to the whitestone?
Thanks!
No SD card slot. A missing keystone feature that greatly limits the usability and flexibility of the phone.
